I think it depends on your decision, but I suggest that you combine investment, spend 70% of your money on Bitcoin, and 30% invest in LTC, so the risk of investment will be reduced and the profits you get will be maximized.
I will choose Bitcoin for sure if I have to choose one coin. Also, Bitcoin price is more stable as compared to Litecoin.
For me I choose bitcoin also, it is a good coin to buy and highly recommended. Other coins are also good but no coins can depeat bitcoin in terms of giving good profit, much more in the long term investment.
It has been a long time losing the charm of litecoin. I do not hear much about its name. but still lives in the shadow of btc. i think btc makes more sense.
Definitely bitcoin. bitcoin is the most invested coin as is evident from its market dominance that is still above 50%. Also Litecoin has no clear roadmap and no news coming ahead which could pull the prices up. Investors confidence in litecoin is on shaky grounds after charlie lee dumped it. On the other side the market confidence is hugely attached to bitcoin prices.

It seems to me that the price of bitcoin is stable compared to any other. At least if you exclude the case of the bubble, it is.

I will go for Bitcoin! 100% because of many reasons, Bitcoin is the king of crypto and now the price of bitcoin is getting higher, and i believe that it will continue and bitcoin is a promising coin. Go for bitcoin, bitcoin is better than Litecoin.
You need to ask yourself first Bitcoin or Altcoins? In my opinion is it better that you buy Bitcoin instead of altcoins like Litecoin. The reason is that everything depends of the price of bitcoin. After the come of alt season you can switch your holdings to alt coins like Litecoin.

Instead of any of these, I would rather suggest you to buy an altcoin that shall be good for you profitability and earnings. Coins like PRG, ICX and LISK are pretty good and will rise by the end of 2018. BTC or Litecoin!
