If you are skilled person and your interest to go to school is none, better to focus to your skill than go to school with the absence of interest. I think it's a waste of time, you will never learn than put your focus on your skill.

Don't think like you are like Marc Zuckerburg and others  that did not have college degree and became successful and treat them as an inspiration that you don't need to go to college. They have unique qualities that not all the people have and going to college is still better.

Zuckerberg may not have multiple college degrees, but he got his education from premier institutions such as the Ardsley High School and the Phillips Exeter Academy. He started software development when he was in middle school. He attended the New York Mercy College (part time) while he was still in the high school. And after his school years, he attended the Harvard University.

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?
Going to college is still your choice and no one can dictate your destiny but only you. Since you have the opportunity and all the resources you needed, I suggest you must go to college. It is different if you have the diploma hanging in your house. It is something that you can always be proud of. It is something that you can always have for the rest of your life.

Going to college will get you far in the future. Getting a job is a little difficult nowadays, getting a degree before applying for a job will take you step ahead of your competitors. Companies would usually look at your educational attainment and skills.

EDUCATION is very complicated topic. There many rich people around who did not get any form of formal education. But the percentage is negligible compared to the number of people with formal education and living good lives. Considering sports personalities, many did not get any formal education but are very rich. This is rather tempting to ditch schooling and doing something else that will make you enough money. Only the gifted, talented and lucky ones make it without schooling. Since the future cannot be certainly predicted, it is better to take up education just to get some security in future in the midst of the high levels of unemployment. It'll be a very strong decision to ditch schooling for an informal career to make money in future. Consider the wits and cons and make the best choice.

I mean it's not a demand. Maybe you would have more opportunies then, but still that's a long shoot. I know people with 2 college degree and they struggle to work in domain + I've seen people with no college, and doing great, all depends on you now.

As the world of today is (unfortunately), all that counts is a piece of paper that will grant you access to your desired workfield. I personally think that this is sad because employers do not look for real skills, they are only looking for accomplished studies. Nonetheless I think that everyone that has the possibility to go to college should take this chance and go for it because it is great for the personal development, besides of the doors that it opens for students in the worksphere.
