Everyone generally prefers bitcoin for investing because long term investment in bitcoin is very lucrative. Buying solana by selling bitcoin and ethereum will increase the risk no one can guarantee that the price of this currency will go up. Solana is good to use this currency as day trading there will be pumps and dumps for the price to go up and down.
Investing long term with altcoins is too risky except Ethereum. do not sell your Bitcoin just to make it SOL, because only Bitcoin is suitable for long-term investment. If you just want to take profit with pump and dump then it's better with SOL.
in a fact, people will hold bitcoin than the other coin. we dont know exactly when the price up and down. prefer to take the profit from bitcoin, than turn it into altcoin.
but, people will separate from main and side coin. they have different fund and last destination for every coin. we can combine from side to main coin, but people not willing to take from main to side. but not all people do this thing.

I think Solana can be compared with Ethereum because both of them have almost identical use case though Ethereum is the Pioneer as far as smart contracts are concerned and If I am not wrong more than 90% Alts, NFTs and DeFi projects have been created on Ethereum network though its transaction fee is a big issue nowadays. Solana is comparatively new but its transaction fee is much faster and fee is lower but it has no comparison with Bitcoin which is store of value and leading crypto currency in crypto space. I can sell Ethereum to buy Solana because it growth is faster but I won't sell Bitcoin to buy Solana.
I guess if you want to try investing with new project or coin it's a better idea, but the chance is either to gain big profit, or to lose what you invest, so better invest that something you want to lose and don't expect to much in crypto, but if you have to invest with SOL all of your assets, i guess it's a 50/50 chance to gain big profit unlike to invest with Bitcoin and Ethereum coin.

Personally, I will choose all three to get additional profit so that my target goal can be achieved more quickly because Bitcoin and Ethereum are always suitable for long-term investments, but for Solana it is always suitable for short-term options through trading. if you are able to profit in solana then good for you to sell Btc and Eth !

Actually, Solana's potential has also started to be high even though it has not been able to beat the potential of Bitcoin as a whole, what is clear is that Solana is still very worthy to be chosen and kept for a certain period of time for very good goals and targets.

I don't think it would be a smart choice to sell Ethereum and Bitcoin to buy Solana. i have held ETH coin for a long time, And we don't know what ETH will make in future with ETH 2.0, there must be something big behind it that their team is developing to make ETH much more valuable in the future. If not, you can still hold your Ethereum and look for other benefits so you can buy Solana without selling your Ethereum

Get more information about their long-term development plans. features and long-term directions of that project but if you sell ETH and BTC to invest all and SOL then I think it is a mistake, should only split the portfolio if you have 100% only invest in 30% of each coin because it is all risky and it is impossible to determine whether the price will increase or decrease in the future so it is advisable to only split investments into coins that you feel have potential.

Solana itself is a promising endeavor but we don't have the most difficult idea of how great the task can be to fill later, SOL has so far made the siphon too high in the blink of an eye, this just a pattern and there is a high probability of spoilage when everything is done with SOL. I think my ETH and BTC are more significant in the long run. What you need to know, you stick to Ethereum and stick with your Ethereum.

I suggest that instead of selling your Ethereum and Bitcoin hodlings just diversify by adding Solana in your portfolio knowing that we are still in the bullish market its good invest with this tokens.
I think the main coin of all these coins is Bitcoin. When it goes up, the price of all coins goes up. When the price of Bitcoin goes down, the price of all coins goes down.

I believe in Solana's potential If all of my portfolios and are on Bitcoin and Ethereum and I will sell a portion but not trade all my Bitcoin and Ethereum for Solana, Bitcoin and Ethereum are two of the coin that has proven it's worth and the market depends on these two coins if there is bad news on these two coins the market react negatively, Solana will have its time but Bitcoin and Ethereum always deserve to anyone's portfolio.
Bitcoin and Ethereum rank first and second in market cap, Trading volume is huge. Most investors put their money in Bitcoin and Ethereum.. In my opinion it's very unwise, we sell Bitcoin and Ethereum to buy Solana.
