They don't come out of the box with any frequency set, you do that with the command line.
Haven't checked with bfgminer, but cgminer detecting the old ones as Antminer U3 defaults to 225MHz, the gekko build of cgminer detecting the production ones as Compacs seems to default to 125MHz.
Out of the box, I plugged them into cgminer/win 7 and cgminer reported them as 225 Mhz.  I didn't set anything. Mine was one of the last ones shipped and I think novac may have  upped the frequency. Also the voltage screw was already set at 1:00 o' clock.
My bad, I thought you had to use a command line tag to set the frequency, I didn't know they'd autostart without any prompting.

I have mine in a USB3 hub connected via USB3 cable to a USB3 port - no problems here.

Could you check / post what your mining software screen is showing?  The pool seems to have your worker as having validated (connected), just... without any hash rate.

The raspberry pi only has USB 2.0 ports, so for me it's a 3 hub with a 3 cord into a 2.0 port. 3.0 is supposed to be backwards compatible thought yes?

This is what my minera dash looks like. http://s2.postimg.org/adaedy0u1/dash.png

This is what the raw log in minera says:

Code:
 [2015-09-10 11:20:50.607] Started cgminer 4.9.2
[2015-09-10 11:20:50.609] Loaded configuration file /var/www/minera/conf/miner_conf.json
[2015-09-10 11:20:52.456] Probing for an alive pool

I think the clearest sign things aren't working is it says "No Local miners detected" in the minera dash...

Bad info I gave. You can get your stats before being on the list. I'm using a Plugable USB2-HUB-AG7 hub without problem. I'm running only one or two sticks and the hub is rated at 3 amps, so plenty of juice. Amazon has it.

hello all! Sticks came in the mail, got the cg-gekko minera running on my Pi with a usb hub.

For my pools I have:

URL: stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 usr: 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.baktegonUnit02

http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/15mxvrrpjTTUL9bRjRDbYDyZqgLS6dT1kf.baktegonUnit04

All the pools are status "Alive" in the dashboard of minera, but aren't mining, I don't think. I'm not sure how to see if my raspberry pi can see the sticks but minera isn't recording any hashrate.

Of course I got too excited and bought some sale hardware before reading through all the threads. My USB hub.... it's 3.0 http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FR795WA. After reading it seems like 3.0 Hubs don't work, any recommendations on 2.0 hubs? I have 4 sticks and a fan, so need at least 5 ports. I like the one i have because it has data ports and power-only ports(nice for the fan).

This is my setup http://s9.postimg.org/7umgblev3/IMG_0931.jpg

I appreciate the help friends!

One more for the pool.   Cool

I'll use:
1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.slimepuppysticks
1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.slimepuppydonation

My sticks are in the mail and I've got a Pi with Minera ready to go.  In the mean time, I'll point my C1 at the club when it's not leased.

Thanks to all that helped sidehack and novak bring these sticks to us!

I'll try lowering the frequency or tweaking the voltage but they came out of the box set at 225 and ran without errors on a win7 box using the same 3 amp hub. So if it's the pi/minera, yeah I got some figuring to do.

11.5% error rate.

Dude, something is not right with your setup, you shouldn't be seeing any errors, let alone 11%. (!)

0.1% errors would be high, and you are 100x higher than that.

I've been making friends with my RPI and edonkeys Minera/cgminer-gekko mod. Getting 12.4GH at 225 Mhz with an 11.5% error rate.

Phil, please add me to the list as .peptostick.
I'm sure I'll be on and off for a while as I fiddle around, maybe pointing a second stick occasionally for educational purposes.

Now I wish my name was popsicle.

Let's go, gekko block!

After yesterday getting a production unit I pointed 3 twords pool: http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.notlist3dstick

Seems to be working pretty good.   If I only had luck.

However, it doesn't matter what best share says, it has no effect on your chance of finding a block.
You either find a block, or you don't. There no 'getting close to it'

Yup. I completely understand that.

This is just for fun.

Interesting, because I got a new best share notification email for the club address at 6:01 AM PST:

Code:
CK Solo Pool: New best share found!

Current difficulty: 59335351233.9

Stats URL: http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX
New best share: 1078757183.85
Percent of current difficulty: 1.81806825343%

Sure enough, that's the best share number from your donation worker.

Almost 2% of the target difficultly. Doesn't seem like much, but it's way better than my sticks so far.
