When what you are doing is directly or indirectly harming someone or yourself physically and mentally, I think that that's the time that you should confirm or be wary that they might be suffering from gambling addiction.

Breaking the piggybank of my children would be an utter shame honestly because even if I am broke and have nothing much to eat, I would still not feel like looking weak to my kids. I can't imagine someone being so desperate that they would do such a thing but yeah once we start losing, it takes a few moments of brain fade for such things to take place.

Like Yoshie mentioned the links for threads, there are some good symptoms of gambling addiction.

In my view, there are some basic things you can observe within yourself to see if you are addicted.

1- If you prioritize gambling above everything else
2- If you are postponing or delaying important meetings /schools/etc for gambling
3- Whether you are trying to avoid social meetings and your lifestyle is changing.

You just need to ensure things are going as they were earlier and if things haven't changed much, you aren't addicted yet.

Gamblers don't realize they are addicted to gambling until it's worse which they've done unthinkable already like breaking the piggybank of his kid just so he could gamble again. But you as a gambler can also notice it to yourself before you get to the worse situation like selling valuables like jewelry so you could play again.

Is seeking a new strategy or thinking of betting while you are sleeping signs of addiction? If not, what are little signs that unfold you are becoming a gambling addict?

There are quite a few signs and they can differ by person, most have been covered already but in the simplest forms:

Not having proper control over when you gamble, you wake up and that is what you want to do. You are at work and daydream about rushing home to gamble. This is a sure sign it has taken over your mind.
It's no longer fun, you do it simply because that is what you did yesterday and every day before that.
All the money you have goes into this activity and you prioritize it above even some essential needs. On this basis you might also stop maintaining yourself properly and letting standards drop all over is common.

If you start to feel like this it is a bad sign and you really need to step away from it for a while. Quitting completely has to be done, as playing just small amounts will sucker you back in and mess with your healing mindset.

In my opinion, it can be said to be addicted if continue to gamble and try to use saving money to continue to gamble even when the money is for other urgent things, or when you dare to borrow to be able to gamble, and usually gamblers who enter the addiction stage often think of leaving if have won but what is done is just the opposite because winning or losing always makes it difficult for players to get out of gambling if they're addicted.

Letting your world revolve around gambling is considered as a gambling addiction. Once it affects your regular routine negatively including your career, then that's already gambling addiction. When you're willing to swap or sell everything just for gambling then that's another sign of it. You shouldn't allow gambling to rule your world in the first place because it could ruin your life in the end.

If not, what are little signs that unfold you are becoming a gambling addict?

If a gambler prioritizes the money he earns to gamble than his personal responsibilities then he could have a sign of gambling addiction. When they have money, their mind is always telling them to gamble because there is a chance they will win and can change their situation. This is also the reason why some people fall into addiction because of the desperate need for money that they see gambling as a way to do it. While there are some people whose financially stable that is not concerned with the money they lose in gambling, their goal is just to gamble because that is where they only get the satisfaction they can't find anywhere.

If it's to try to find a new strategy at the beginning.. I don't think it can be said to be really addictive, it could be because of more curiosity only, but if you keep feeling like that.. it's already addictive of course.
Another thing that might trigger it to become an addiction is can't stop. If you only gamble occasionally and are just looking for fun from betting, then you will not feel addicted to gambling, people who are addicted to gambling try to stop, but in the end they still bet more in the hope of getting more wins.

If we occasionally think about a new strategy to win gambling, we can't say we are addicted to gambling. But if every time we are obsessed with
thinking about finding a new strategy and disrupting daily activities, it is already a symptom of addiction. Actually as long as we can control ourselves
so as not to do something excessive, I believe we will avoid addiction. It's true that we should gamble only for entertainment and don't be too
obsessed with pursuing victory. That's a very important thing and we must understand when playing gambling. In order not to make us addicted
to gambling, because if we get addicted it is very difficult to cure it.

I can't believe that gamblers didn't notice that they are into the level of addiction because that really has something happen to you obviously.
Overspending, cash flow rate, and excessive time spent on gambling are the most common things we basically see.

Actually, if you are at the level of addiction that really hard for you to change unless if your family and friends will taking care and help you to redirects your mindset but doing alone is impossible.

So, before this worse case happens to us, we should have to keep our family involves and don't just slipt our time on this but rather spend time more on the other stuff.

All of these are already signs that you have hooked on gambling no father on the right mind will break his kid's piggy bank just so he can gamble and if you are going to sleep and those dice and slot games are hunting you even in your sleep, that could only mean that your mind is preoccupied with gambling, and you are thinking gambling all the time and in all the place.
This is dangerous and you really need an intervention if you reach this point, it's the boiling point.

There are signs that a person has crossed the line from fun wagering to gambling addiction attempt to recover losses by gambling more this feature of gambling addiction is known as “chasing.” As their gambling losses continue to accumulate, compulsive gamblers maintain the belief that “one more bet” is all they need to win back everything. To them, the next bet is always the big one. This strategy is how they will recover from their prior gambling losses and start to get ahead. gamble until all your money is gone The obsessive drive to gamble becomes so strong in pathological gamblers that even losing their money doesn’t cause them to stop the behavior. They can burn through their savings and even gamble their paychecks, rent money, grocery money and any other money that is available to them, regardless of the consequences. Going broke from gambling is a true risk for someone with a gambling addiction

What you wrote, which is spending your savings and selling valuable things in order to play, are obvious signs of addiction to gambling. I can add that taking a loan or lying to your loved ones in order to play games are also obvious signs of addiction. Unfortunately, the sooner he admits to himself that it is his problem, the better.

But unfortunately, most of the addicted gamblers only change their lifestyle if they encounter really bad situations in their life.
They already know the initial indications but they just shrugged it off, thinking that they should win big first before they stop.
However, it is already too late whenever they realized that they are already deep in trouble.
So for those that can still control their gambling habits, always remind yourself about your true goals in this game.

It is the quest for the big win that leads to addiction. The worst thing is that even when someone manages to win a large amount, he immediately finds another goal, i.e. strives for an even higher win, which usually ends up losing everything.
What you wrote about adjusting the standard of living is very important because any gambler will find it quite normal and will not admit it is because he has a problem. He will always think only about that shotly he will win big and his life will be better, what is ofcourse very wrong.

Depends on what level of addiction currently a person right now.

Example:

a) Person A always finds a way to gamble. Always losing but has a stable source of income so the user maintains to support the gambling habit. Personal life is not affected and still a better person outside gambling.

b) Person B always finds a way to gamble. Always losing and also has a stable source of income but acting strange outside gambling affecting personal life. The worst, even already busted, will still seek some things to get money, selling stuff, loans, etc. to chase losses at gambling.

When you are already making it as a habit or you are already getting involve on it on excess manner not only on the time spent but also with the amount that you have been wasting on gambling.
Majority of people who becomes addicted would really be denying that they are still on control or they are not addicts since they do say that they are still fine in finances but when time comes
that they are already experiencing problems then thats the time they would really be murmuring about their regrets about it.
When you do find out yourself in the verge of addiction then better take some cool off or stay away at least and distract yourself in other activities.

I think that one of the signs of gambling addiction is when a person puts aside their daily responsibilities, when they stop feeding, when they get in a bad mood and when they eventually start sacrificing important necessities to allocate that money to gambling.
If the person has children neglects them, I think that is one of the many signs by which he begins to give a bad impression of the game, it is when he begins to become a vice. These symptoms are the quietest but the most dangerous, because somehow the person believes that they are in control, and they are not, basically the symptom that is seen the most is neglect in general.

A person is already too deep when he is already in the point of forgetting responsibilities and neglecting children. Early signs manifest sometimes when a gambler already eats his soup in front of the computer because he can't take his eyes off the deck.

It's not a good idea for a person to gamble when he has children to feed. He will eventually spare time and money to casinos instead of putting food on the table.

The sign of gambling addiction is you constantly visiting a gambling site, spending most of your time trying to find a key match,
In my opinion, visiting a gambling site constantly isn't a sign of addiction. As long as you can control yourself in gambling, means not spend money excessively and not uncontrolled waste your time, it is no problem to visit a gambling site regularly. I am sure people visit a gambling site constantly doesn't mean they visit it every day. Visit constantly can be accessing the gambling site every weekend. This is certainly not an addiction but a kind of discipline in gambling.
