maybe there should be an official silentarmy thread? v5 says they were gonna go for windows support but between the bullshit of claymore jackin for beats and im sure getting bugs and improvements + windows support it will take a minute. just trollin

down load one of these
https://mega.nz/#F!iwYQhI6S!2vl0D3jz3fH3-bZxHUurBg

the latest version is  SILENTARMY-v5-Cygwin64-r6

 down load this

https://cygwin.com/setup-x86_64.exe

then unzip

SILENTARMY-v5-Cygwin64-r6  then read WINDOWS.txt

it tells you what package you need form cygwin

yeah 1070 is clearly not optimized btw what is your consumption, mine is 580w

580W for 500 sol, that is almost 1.1W/Sol/s. That is already more efficient than some CPU miners and GPU miners..

actually is 580 for the whole system with 3 140mm fan, so i guess i'm very near the 1:1 ratio between wattage and sol

That is more efficient than my R9 390 system. It has about 520 Sol, but the power consumption is 1160W.

value were unstable with 580w, too much swings between low and high, i rised a bit to 628 waatt with 55% tdp and now it remain at 510 sol or so

So windows support?

When I stop seeing this every other 5 posts, I'll start thinking I'm reading another thread...

zawawa made a port, look back through thread to find it, and instructions.

SA5 has no more easy optimizations left; the current version maxes out the memory bandwidth of the card.

Does it also max out the PCI-E bus bandwidth? I'm trying to understand why my Nitro+ RX470 (at 75~80 Sol/s) is finding as many shares as my R9 295x2 (2 x 90 Sol/s)...  Any idea?

Silentarmy vs Optiminer results

I'm running ubuntu with 6x rx 470 8GB

With SA I averaged 520 sols/s using 700W
With Optiminer I'm averaging 660 sols/s using 740W

That is about a 27% increase in speed and this is all with the 15% dev fee included already.

I'm going to have to stick with Optiminer until SA releases a faster Linux miner.
Wow, 15% devfee is insane.  And so many whined about Claymore devfee, even when miner was 100% faster.  I was assuming the devfee on that miner was crazy high since he wouldn't tell you what it was.  Some report Optiminer as unstable, and it is Linux only and harder to set up. Are you comparing solves over time at pool?

The dev fee is a bit ridiculous but still not bad enough to not use his miner. I have been running the miner for about 4hrs now with with no issues. And I am using flypool to compare the two.

If it works, then go ahead and use it, if you get more profit after devfee, its better for you.  I would try it if it were on Windows.  I am just observing no one has complained about the 15% devfee, yet everyone complained about 2.5% when there were a ton of slow, unstable, and/or pool locked miners at the time.

I think mrb is right in saying that things should be OK as long as the reported and effective speeds match, and that has been the case with my Windows builds. I'm running some tests just to be on the safe side, though.

Thanks very much. I also want to find out more.

There is no notable discrepancies so far between speeds reported by miners and effective speeds on the pool side. I will continue testing for the next 24 hours just in case.

Wow your win build works great!

Can you add
Code:
           print("Total %s sol/s [%s] %d share%s" % \
                    (rate_avg, info_gpus, shares, '' if shares == 1 else 's'))
            sys.stdout.flush()

In python script ?

When running with redirecting to log files, nothing recorded for a while.

Done. But http://linuxcommand.org/man_pages/unbuffer1.html is your friend Smiley

Some benchmarks for old cards:

system with 3 R9280x
idle power consumption 175 watts from the wall including monitor using wattmeter

claymore v4:
  • 236-240 sols/s average 80sols/s with spike to 90 sols/s
power consumption total system 725 watts from wall
    approx: 183 watts per card
    card temp. 62C, 67C, 65C

Silentarmy version "115 sol/s with one R9 Nano"
  • 255-275 sols/s average 88sols/s with spike to 102 sols/s
power consumption total system 612 watts from wall
    approx: 145 watts per card
    card temp. 57C, 61C, 59C

What's new in r6 version?

A speedup up to 5%.

For 1070 I noticed no speedup for r5 -> r6, maybe the speedup was for amd

Hi, mrb

Could you implement some very usefull, ccminer-like option: -S --syslog

-S, --syslog          use system log for output messages

that would be nice for KopiemTu support, i.e. for monitoring

It's low priority, but I will consider it. In the mean time I am happy to accept patches from contributors.

try different combinations of --use
Quote
--use 0,1,2,3,4,5
--use 1,2,3,4,5,6
--use 2,3,4,5,6,7
thanks

Just use --list to see what IDs are your GPUs.

To everyone getting over 500sol/s with the 6x 470 8gb cards I just want to know if they are modded?

Any tips please?
