oh man - sorry to hear about your account generalt - I recall my first time on Bitcointalk, reading your posts in the A2 thread 2 years ago.

I have changed my BTC address several times over the 2 years (probably not a good idea to do this) and regularly change passwords too (good practice but wont stop the bad guys)

How I get increase my chances of getting my account back if my account gets hacked?

Would a Donator status or earn positive trusts points get me protected ? How do I do this?



Thanks citronick and I'm back!!!  I've learned a lot from you and Phil. It was actually with one of Phil's post that got me me account back just by being himself!  I won one of his guess the difficulty change games and in that post he made the payment to a BTC address that I still had control of.  I just had to send a BTC signed message with my account, the email address and today's day as well as a link to that post of my BTC address and just wait.  Eventually Cyrus restored the email to my account and I feel whole again.  So basically it is always good to have your BTC address that you can sign messages from quoted somewhere.  Make sure that it is one that you have control of and can sign messages with.  I don't think you can do it with addresses from exchanges.

I highly recommend you make a few changes bud for your best interest, as nice as it seems to buy a waterblocked GPU new already converted, the used market for those GPU's is pitaful and if you have a handful of them, then you get stuck with them unable to really sell them since they tailor to a very niche market, i found this out back in the GTX670ish days.. a factory waterblocked gpu sold used for 50% of the same card on air on the used market for me back then.

I would recommend just getting the cheapest 1070 and covert it with a waterblock kit yourself. The benefit of this is lets say in 1yr you want to sell the card off, you can take the waterblock off and install the OEM fan back on and sell it pretty easily, then you can try to get as much as you can for the waterblock.... or lets say in 1 year you decide to not sell it and just run it tell it dies, usually after a year of owning a gpu the OEM fans increase in value and can sell for $50/each in some cases on ebay and if you take it off when its new, you could sell the fans as a brand new unit and maybe pull $60...

I am just about done buying any gpu's .

 I don't mind  the water blocks I own.

I have 12x 1080tis in the solar array and an office.these are fan.

I have 7 water blocks soon to be 8  once I am ready  to move gear.

I can put all the water blocks in my friends office as I can pack them in.  I will just run them for a year or 2 at his place.

I would sell the 1080ti fan models at his place.

I can go to 8 water blocks and still be able to move them around.

I would be 8 waterblock
I would be 16 1080ti's no water block which will all sell easy.

I still have s-9's
avalon 741's
avalon 721's

and more  s-9's coming in.

the water blocks are next to perfect for my garage this winter so very quiet.

also new card are simply not going to improve as much due to die chip size limits.

1180 ti's will not boost hash and power ratio's much.

also I am pretty sure 4x 1070's water blocks  will fit in the stealth case and do 1800sols  not over heat and be quiet

I know they can hold 12 1070's if I do all waterblocks

there are better cpu's  on pcie cards.

if you do 1070's  and  do 70% tdp  you are pulling 1000 watts on 7 pcie cables  that is 143 watts a cable  not ideal.  

if that  70% tdp  unlocks and goes to 100%  you jump to 200 watts a cable and 1400 watts on the psu.


This motherboard may well be suitable for P106s, 1060, RX470, RX570 type GPUs - I doubt that the higher end GPUs can push up to 9 slots.

I have asked the supplier what GPUs are installed in the "full systems" - waiting for some info from him...

I also wonder how close the CPU board will be to the video cards.

looking at it  there are 9 gpu slots and the cpu slot is color blue.

I think  8 1070's  leave the one next to the cpu empty.

set at 70% tdp    

105 watts a card x 8 = 840 watts under 40  for the rest  880 watts dc / 7 = 125 watts a cable

if  tdp decides to jump to 100%   1240  watts/7 = 177 watts a cable

my thoughts are this makes a really good rig for 8  water block 1070's clocked to 70%  tdp 140 + core   -700 memory mine  zec  

I can clock to -800 to -1000 ram on smos and get good 1070 numbers with the water blocks.  practically silent


You're right I think using 8 cards sounds like it would make the most sense to leave room for the PC on a stick and not have to worry so much about the power as well.  That would make a really nice build.

All rigs are set to onboard video out and Gen2 for all slots in BIOS.

Thanks a lot Phil, but currently to have increased hashrate for Vega I need at least 56Gb virtual memory, I see each Vega takes 8Gb of virtual memory, so a 32 Gb stick I think it's not enough... I will have a look at Smos thread.
Is that valid also for Linux or is it only a Windows limitation?

I'm in the process of switching my AMD RX570 rigs back to ETH(+LBRY) from XMR. Aaaaah, I was missing the whole DDU, driver reinstall, fine-tuning clocks and voltages shizzle... Good ol' AMD tinkering.

Just wanted to show you guys my first Vega64 mining rig. Supposed to be 8 x Vega 64, but one of them was not stable, had too many crashes/hangs, have to return it tomorrow.

After some days of struggling (RAM was also broken), I managed to start my rig only with a ATX PSU, so currently I have Delta PSU powering GPU's and a borrowed Enermax 1700W ATX PSU powering the MB and SSD.

So just playing around with the miner, it seems the results are the same as xmr-stak-amd miner. I'm using this reg file: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uq3Om2MXOE for both miners, so I have for both the same values ~1800 h/s at 4 of Vega's and ~1400 h/s at 3 of them. Power at wall ~1100W. A major drawback at the cast-xmr is you have to start for every GPU another instance of the miner. So if you have 8 GPU in your rig then 8 instances are running...

All this hacks are giving me the blues.... lets move on to happy things like our quest for that 9 x slot riser-less rig.

My supplier just sent me the DHL tracking number - hope this board arrives fro me to play with it in the weekend.

395$ 9 slot PCI with a compute PCI blade and some cables.

This board looks awesome.  I wonder if they make different compute sticks for it so you can upgrade to a different single board computer.  It sounds like 9 of the PCIe pins are power out and only 7 of them are power in which would worry me a bit unless I'm reading it wrong but of course you could just power the video cards direct from your PSU.

Yes I know, but for some reasons I can't start the mobos with the Pico adapter, I have 4 of them, none are working. I have besides the Biostar TB250 BTC pro, 2 x Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 still the same issue, with Pico are not starting.

All this hacks are giving me the blues.... lets move on to happy things like our quest for that 9 x slot riser-less rig.

My supplier just sent me the DHL tracking number - hope this board arrives fro me to play with it in the weekend.

The mobo needs 7+9=16 x pcie 6 pin power .... depending on GPUs power requirements, you may need another Delta or server PSU for the GPUs... I guess we will find out this weekend.

This board looks awesome.  I wonder if they make different compute sticks for it so you can upgrade to a different single board computer.  It sounds like 9 of the PCIe pins are power out and only 7 of them are power in which would worry me a bit unless I'm reading it wrong but of course you could just power the video cards direct from your PSU.  

I think you are right generalt - this is like the Pandaminer power distribution format it seems.

Best case scenario is 7 power ins, 9 power outs to single 6pin for the GPUs.... likely this is why they gave that short pcie cable.

Y cable for 2 x 6pins pcie for higher end GPUs likely if connected to bigger PSU.
