Looking forward to buy these MBs also, But i still I gonna use ECONOMICAL One ATX PSUs with them that's for sure LOL.

Kindly read carefully the whole thread one the motherboard Onda D1800 is 100 Motherboard i got 3 of them for 160 CAD dollars each from Aliexpress. And thats include the CPU also my friend. And I have lots of different PSUs to experiment with.
By they way I was planning to use Bitmain APW3++ PSU which i got for 125 $, it pretty cheap also. HERE I WANT TO REPLACE CHEAP WITH ECONOMICAL. FOR ME THIS FUDDING ENDS HERE PERIOD.

Hm... so, now you have your pile of water-cooled gear sitting right next to the tankless on-demand water heater on the wall. Any ideas on how to maybe merge the two technologies? Preheat the water by GPUs before it enters the main heater? Just thinking out loud...

I am trying to get my hands on these 8 x slot Colorful motherboards via my contacts in China.

The board was just launched and my contacts will get in touch with me on how to get them in bulk at the right price (ie. not from crazy resellers and huge markups).

 A legit point. I think the 1070's will be biggest card possible  but on a lower tdp lets say 70 not 80 or 85.



A loop in an 18 inch cable will do but 24inch  or more not needed.

Interesting so 8 input and 8 output to the video cards.  I guess that makes more sense if you are planning on putting it in an enclosed case to leave the power supply external.  You'll also need some short PCIe to PCIe cables.

My guess is the input cable feeds the pcie slot and then goes to the output pcie cable  .

So 16 gauge can handle enough power.  Have to wait and see if citronick can get some.

I blew a fuse in this pdu today.
it is a 24/30amp pdu connected to a 40 amp circuit breaker.

but 1,2,3,4   has an internal fuse of 20 amps
and 5,6,7,8  has an internal  fuse of 20 amps

loaded 1,2,3,4 too much blew the fuse. 2 one in 3 years. not bad.



went to back up pdu
it is a 24/30 amp pdu  but I think breakers reset no fuse needed.



3 1080 ti water cooler  evga + evga + msi
1 1070    water cooled evga
1 amd 1800x water cooled

there is a riser and if I fuck with this build I could do 2 on the mobo and 3 risers the board can do 5 cards.
I just set that r4 back to manual settings so it can do any freq you want.
I sold it today.

My experience with refurbished Corsair AX and AXi PSUs was exactly opposite. Feeding 3x1080ti's with one of these was pushing it, but it worked nicely at ~250W per card: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139130. The AX860 (Seasonic) didn't handle brief spikes over 900W while mining skunk algo, but AX860i (Flextroncs) did very well.

HX850i refurb was even cheaper and also worked nice. Only two out of eight were producing noticeable coil whine at max load, but all were stable and trouble-free the whole summer.

I'm still going to get rid of them all because of the ongoing conversion to server PSUs...

Never understood why people would spend 4k on cards but not spring an extra $100.00 for a good PSU.  I learned my lesson with a refurb 1000 watt Corsair from New Egg, couldn't keep 3x 1060's stable.  Threw it in a buddy's home computer with no GPU and has worked great for him.  Just couldn't handle a lot of juice...

lol experimenting with a cheap psu on an expensive gpu build ? ok bro good luck with that, when your rig explodes and waranty is refused what will you do then.  Cheap motherboards? are we reading the same thread, none of these specialized mining boards are anything close to cheap , where are you getting this from lol

p.s just becuase something works does not mean its a good idea, Ive had evga 1000 psus burn out pci-e connections with alarming regularity to the point i gave up on dual mining, at least they were well designed and only the pherephial 8pin slots were burned out and with 10 year rma idgaf i just sent those toasters back for new ones

Is it me or they really forgot to make a hole for the M.2 retention screw on that 8x motherboard?

The concerns raised are valid though.
Remember why we have always been using powered risers in the first place: because drawing too much power from the mobo over the PCIe slots would fry it.

Wonder how well built these colourful boards really are. All props to you guys for experimenting, but I'd recommend you monitor your mobo's temperature. Those circuits might get really, REALLY hot...

Nice to have contacts in China!  Why would that motherboard have 16 PCIe inputs though?  Also would you need to connect all the PCIe inputs if you're using 1080Ti's that require another two PCIe plugs or do you really only need those for the non-powered video cards?

I haven't tried it yet..PC technologies are "standard", if it is designed to be used in a PCIE socket 99% of the time it works, just like a year 2017 1080ti works on a year 2006 PCIE motherboard. hope someone who tried it shares his experience here.

Is it possible to add PCIE multiplier to the 775 MB? If so, it is good for mining .

my cheap 775 p35 motherboards with 4x pcie is serving me well from late 2013 to present, cost about ~ $30 back then, bought two pieces last week cost about ~$17 a piece now  

and my hynix 900+ watts PSU (bought 5 piece this summer) at 20$ a piece (I can't find it even if i google it, bought at a surplus store) is very solid. that PSU have two separate PCBs inside and two different 12v source.

got some gold rated PSU like seasonic 1250xm (version 1) that is problematic (doesn't turn on after several hours of usage and sometimes restarts), I have a platinum seasonic 1000w (version 1) that is restarting but serving as a secondary PSU with jumper (green-black) to be always on, works very well.

majority of my gpu risers from 2013 still works. some of the usb cables are starting to have problems.

and when I experiment I still have my 280x's to try on them.
