@citronick

May I know what's the name and brand of your board? Looks interesting, would like to research further.

its a generic brand -- I have no luck with posting this rig with AMD cards so I am finding some time to get some NVIDIA cards from production farm - hopefully sometime soon.

See my past post here with info on sellers:

basically we're trying to figure out if on my latest 12 card if risers should be powered by the ATX psu or Server PSU

This looks good. Wonder how much it'll cost.

However that integrated cpu is a little weak, I still prefer the version where we can use our own cpu.

My gripe with the board is 6 pin pcie power pass-through;  not 8... It's just two damned important ground pins for some cards..  and the pcie power in ports on the side of the board instead of the opposing side where cable management and getting the machines packed neatly around each other would be waaaay more enjoyable.   I bet the pandaminer users/owners don't like having the power supply plugs out the side like that... but to each their own I guess.

The board above that citronick posted;  I want to try myself sometime soon.  I like the format of it; and just the right amount of space to add more or less cards if desired  =)  But it's cpu capability is key as well.

that 6-pin is very iffy... you need the 8 pin to support at least a 8pin or 6pin GPU.

Also, it looks like you need a CPU 4-pin power from an ATX power source (or is this power sourced from the board it self?)

compared this with the other 9xGPU board I am testing below.... that new Colorful board may not be fully server PSU powered.

that board  seems interesting  how does it work so far?

At the first test, none of the AMD cards works - cant post.

After a quick clarification with Panto-tech, their tech team said their production systems are all P106 mining cards. They suggested that 1070s will work too. Or any NVIDIA card with 6pin or 8pin power. They did recommend 1080ti to be on risers instead on this board because of the power consumption of the 1080ti. Taking that with a pinch of salt, I think 1080ti are OK as long as power and cabling are within threshold -- so probably instead of 9 x GPUs,.... maybe 4 x 1080tis with good spacing

I am going to use the 1070s for this mobo but all the 1070s are in production and I don't want to bring them down for downtime unnecessarily.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
Side Note, i have still not received any of the money for the GPU's i claimed from hurricane irma water damage. The manufactures deemed all of them UNrepairable except 6, so 6 out 91 are being returned after repaired, rest im kinda unsure what to do about, the insurance company is giving me so much BS about them, i specifically included them on the insurance policy in case of a fire was ever to happen, but apparently having insurance is kinda useless even when you list the items your insuring previous to the accident occurring. Its looking like im gonna have to take my insurance company to court over it with my own lawyer. The insurance company is trying to get out of paying me, claiming that i staged the warranty repair process by informing them of what caused the damage prior to them assessing the GPU's. I am just boggled by this statement, because i was just being honest and upfront of the warranty claim, they act as if being honest is a crime against them or something.

damn.

i would think the water damage would be obvious anyway, so telling them upfront shouldnt make any difference. im actually surprised they repaired 6 of them under warranty.

water damage can cause issues down the line anyway so i wouldnt trust anything electronic that had it.

best of luck.

There are about six boards maybe seven.

If you are doing all 1080 ti's  I think  all of them are going to have heat issues of you don't waterblock

If you are doing 1060's  all will work.

If you are a big farm 100 board guy   the colorfull may be best.

@spotswood  that board looks good for a 1060 six pin pcie build

I agreed Philipma.
but we do need to consider following things.
1. Price wise we can get this board much cheaper from direct Manufacture or wholesale re-seller, my guess is around 175 USD. I bought the first one more expensive from the retailer, because I can send it back if its not working properly for me.
2. It can work with server PSUs and Bitmain APWs, cheaper and durable also.
3. 6 pin power connectors vs Sata/Molex connectors.
In the end it will come down to more Stable +Economical system. This is a collective effort, and in the end your opinion bears more weight for lot of us including me.

On the Onda D1800, what is all required to get it to post. I installed a GPU on slot 1, plugged it into monitor, plugged in usb w/ windows 10 on the go, snapped in the memory in the slot and connected the 2 connections for the power supply and im getting nothing....

The PSU turns on, the CPU fan turns on, but i get no signal on the monitor. I am trying to test it with a known good Nvidia Quadro NVS295 i have from all my refurbished dell PC's i bought.

For my case, i put GPU with video out on slot 1 (1050ti), then the rest P106 for testing purposes and works like a charm (smOS)

I am very behind in my rigs tests, due to year end deadlines in my other projects.

This D1800 is meant to upgrade my older ETH farm, and get rid of all risers. The 2016 farm is mostly Nanos, 390s and RX480s. The D1800 will recycle the G2-1000, G2-1300, G2-1600 -- so the D1800s is perfect (although only 6 slots). I will probably get a few ONDA 8 slotters too.

The 2017 NVIDIA farm, all 1050ti, P106s, 1070s, 1080tis. I am keeping the 8 slotters (preferably the Colorful ones) for all the NVIDIA rigs.

For the 2017 ETH farm, almost all of the 470s (around 155 x 470s) are on 12/13/19 GPU Biostar/ASrock/Asus mobos with 6pin power risers. All very stable - so I wont touch them since they are all highly densed already.

Well Just got my COLORFUL Mining Motherboard 8 Graphics Cards LGA1151 Colorful C.B250A-BTC PLUS this morning,
Just ordered:
Intel Core i5-7500 and
Crucial Memory 8GB DDR4 2400Mhz SODIMM
I already have 64GB mSATA.
In 1-2 days I will receive them and will post the testing of this board.
Look more suitable for Mining then any other boards. Lets see.
Box was shuge
Keep us posted! I like the no 24 PIN connector! Saves a PicoPSU as well! So no risers, no PSU.. that saves.. what? $100-$130?

I have three of these Colorful boards coming in a few days too.

I see a 4pin for maybe CPU power on the board.... how does that work without a 24pin... keep us posted.

now I want one O_O and this was post 1337 Cheesy xD

My status is 10x m12 b250 onda coming on friday

my sample no name colorful knock off coming on thurs.

my onda d1800 is untested.

the m12 onda works great. I have to wait for a better psu to test it and the 2  evga 1070 ti's

I am going to play with it more tomorrow, gonna try to find more info on it tonight and put another gpu in it to see if it just doesnt like my GPU option i am trying to use. From my understanding is the top most molex connector is for the GPU1 slot correct? i tried both with it plugged in and not plugged in and both times the CPU fan turns on when i turn the psu on, idk if i need to use a jumper possibly to truly start it, it seems to starting on its own via just turning the psu on.

So the one you have 10x coming is the same 8 gpu motherboard you have running currently?

Side Note, i have still not received any of the money for the GPU's i claimed from hurricane irma water damage. For 1080 TI reference blowers / FE

What are the ideal settings on linux for core / mem for max efficiency

I've been condensing my rigs down for better power usage. . my goal is 40k sols and a sub $1000 electric bill lol

then next 1070s? / been delayed but will finally get to testing out the 1070 tis tomorrow going to try out quintleos specs

Quintleo quote
Got a suprise this morning - my EVGA SC 1070 ti was on my doorstep when I wasn't expecting it 'till Monday.

I had already installed the latest 388.13 drivers on my Win7 single-slot "test rig" machine while doing some testing on a new 1080 ti earlier this week, so the test rig was ready to go.
I HAVE noticed some sluggishness on this machine, but it's a low-end Athlon 5050E dual core with 2 GB of ram so that's not unusual on it (machine was a LOT snappier on XP back in the day).
Testing on this rig was done in an A/C environment at 80F give or take a degree.

First thing I notice - the memory clock is WAY LOW, 7600 base clock for some reason. Due to that, this is the first EVGA card I can crank up to "+700" memory in Afterburner and actually have it work - as that's only 9000 actual EFFECTIVE memory clock.
Boost is NOT limited to the "factory spec" numbers - it's like any other 1070/1080/1080ti it'll boost as high as the power settings and temp let it.
Default TDP is 180 watts, same as a base 1080 or some higher-TDP 1070 models.
Another odd thing - Afterburner will let me OVERVOLT the card, but it won't let me UNDERVOLT it at all.

Did some testing on a copy of Genoil I had left over on that machine from ETH mining days - meh, pretty much the same as a 1070, obviously ETH is seriously memory limited on this card (not unexpected given other widespread reporting).

Moved to ZEC testing with EBWF.
Testing methodology - make a change in Afterburner, wait *at least* 2 rounds of EWBF stats posted, THEN average the next 3 stat rounds for the posted numbers.

At stock settings (except for using my "standard" Afterburner fan profile):
Hashrate settles in at about 467 sol/s with VERY little variation with the wattage figure in EWBF bouncing between 168 and 180 watts most of the time for an efficiency around 2.6-2.7 range.
Core is boosting to 1848 Mhz pretty much as a straight line, 62-63C at 64-66% fan.
Memory rock solid at "3798" (effective 7596).

Crank the memory up to +700 in Afterburner no other changes:
Hashrate settles in around 525 sol/s with noticeable variation, power however is pretty solid at 180 watts for efficiency at a little over 2.9
Core is boosting to between 1810 and 1823 with a lot of bounce between those figures, temp 64C at 68% fan.
Memory is rock solid at "4498" (effective 8996) and STAYS that way in the rest of the "+700 memory" testing.

Dial in +200 core clock in Afterburner:
Hashrate settles in to about 538 sol/s with some variation, power pretty solid at 180, efficiency a bit over 3.
Core is bouncing some, mostly 1987 with lows down to 1967 and occasional bounces up to 2000. I forgot to check temps, think they bounced up to 65C at 70% fan or so.

Drop TDP to 90% in Afterburner:
Hashrate at 540 sol/s and pretty SOLID, power solid at 161 watts for efficiency at 3.38 - and yes, the average hashrate DID GO UP A HAIR vs 100% TDP.
Core is bouncing 1911 and 1924 with an occasional 1898 or 1937, temp drops to 63C at 66% fan

Drop TDP to 80% in Afterburner:
Hashrate finally drops to 529 sol/s pretty solid, power pretty solid at 146, efficiency pretty solid at 3.64
Core bouncing a lot, 1810 to 1873 range, Temp to 60C at 60% fan.

Drop TDP to 70% in Afterburner:
Hashrate to 509 sol/s but bouncing some, power pretty solid at 126 watts for efficiency of appx 3.96 with one reading above 4 (517 sol/s)
Core bouncing in the 1709 to 1759 range, temp 56C at 52% fan.

Drop TDP to 60% in Afterburner (WATCH THESE FIGURES):
Hashrate 457 sol/s pretty stable, 103 solid watts, 4.46 efficiency.
Core bouncing in the 1557 to 1607 range, temp 54C at 48% fan.

This would be a VERY NICE setting to run a quiet multi-card rig in your BEDROOM, I have to put my head less than 2 feet from the GPU fans to hear them AT ALL.
This is also THE highest efficiency figure I've seen to date out of ANY card I've owned, and I don't remember seeing a better figure reported (though I might have missed or forgotten a slightly better reported figure somewhere).

Drop TDP to 50% in Afterburner:
Core clock drops to under 1200 and the hashrate drops so far the efficiency gets WORSE. Don't go this low on this card.

Is this  your ideal setup?

Maybe  I think it  will be 1100 watts at the watt doing  4500-4600 sols  I think that psu can do the trick.

I can get them for 165 from alibaba.

I did a lot of work figuring out how to run these. I do not think  8x 1080 ti's will work.

but  I will try some 6 card 1080 ti builds with these boards
