Our new website project - say, what you think about it (based on old slimcoin.club theme and files - a123 gave me permission to use it's files, and it went down, so we thought, that's good to revive it back).
I think, that after a few fixes and bringing multi-language interface it should be our main slimco.in website.
It was done with very big contribution of @ksdme - he cleaned, fixed dependencies, and make whole website work, cause my 'mod' wasn't working good, and was bloated.

I have seen that Peercoin, has jumped quite in price due to new version and roadmap for 2018.
Tommorow we set a meeting to discuss, and start redesign website with bulma.io help probably.
If someone want, to help us, message me here and join telegram https://t.me/joinchat/ETaTAE5UFeD5f6Fbvmyxrw
it's group for website project

We will thrive in 2018 (hope so  Smiley).

Coupla pointers to a long shot that I'm exploring:
did you have a look at barterDEX (KMD)

That route has an even lower likelihood of success, I'm afraid. gettxout is mandated and unfortunately it's part of a feature set introduced in 0.8.2, too remote for the current Slimcoin codebase, even with a long running jump and grab. If I can cajole Slimcoin to work with Hans Robeer's Peercoin 0.6 implementation (a “back burner” effort of mine), that RPC call will then be available: https://github.com/hrobeers/peercoin/blob/0.6-tests/src/rpcblockchain.cpp#L209

Coupla pointers to a long shot that I'm exploring:

1. A clear technical overview: https://blog.decred.org/2017/09/20/On-Chain-Atomic-Swaps/
2. A reasonably clear commit for CLTV: https://github.com/viacoin/viacore-viacoin/commit/bc60b2b4b401f0adff5b8b9678903ff8feb5867b

(Note that the feature is for an 0.13 codebase, at this stage it's not at all clear to me whether the code can be successfully retro-fitted to Slimcoin but I'll take a closer look after the holidays.)

Cheers

Graham

Very glad to hear that.

Yeah, bittrex, but I don't think they would list us for now, at least.
We aren't "shiny" ICO or some crypto with loads of money/BTC to go with.
I thought more about exchanges like aex.com - they have something like this posted
https://www.aex.com/page/news/notice/2017/1110/en_46.html

It's in broken english, but you can understand, that they have certain requirements, to have coins listed, maybe we could list there (it's an old BTC38 exchange, now made for 'international').

Also I didn't see this, but maybe we can participate in second round?

Maybe we can put out a reward in SLM, if some could have get us on some exchange (more than 1-2 milion USD of volume)?
I can give 30-40K, could someone pledge something too?
If yes, I'll post this on twitter and facebook in some groups.

BTW. I just found this - https://kittysales.herokuapp.comCheesy, getting crazier, everyday.

I agree with you.
Also, there are a some projects listed on Bittrex with Anonymous Dev (Elastic)

Yeah, I have seen that, and even have filled it in.
Missing gaps I filled like here.
Money Supply: max 250 milion (actual 15.84 milion)
Min commission: 0.01SLM (I understand it as a minimal commision to send payment)
Block time: 90 sec
Explorer: bchain.info/SLM/
Email: [email protected] (but I'll set up a new email for business contact)
Comments/Additional Info: Here we can write about Proof-of-burn and Web2web.

I have sent to some groups of crypto, with interesting project, and low cap, that we would be interested in cooperation, like to: DigitalPrice, Cryptonite and Biblepay.
If you know some projects interesting with good innovations, send them to some message, that we could create a group of crypto communities, with similar goals: better crypto scene,
and to be more recognizable by exchanges and other markets - this way, we all can have more exposure to the markets, and other exchanges, we could negotiate, better deals for listing on exchanges etc.

Hello.
At Yobit exchange anybody can make order to list coin by this form. I think, slimcoin can be added if a lot of requests will be made. This form has these fields:
Code:
Coin name
Ticker
Algo
Number of blocks
Money Supply
Min commission
Block time
Dev language
Type
secp256k1 ver
Source link (Git)
Explorer
Bitcointalk topic
Email
Comments/Additional Info
I can fill some of them this way:

Coin name    Slimcoin
Ticker    Slm
Algo    Dcrypt
Dev language    english
Type    PoW+PoS
Source link (Git)    https://github.com/slimcoin-project
Bitcointalk topic    https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/slimcoin-first-proof-of-burn-currency-decentralized-web-1141676

But I don't know about other fields. Please, who can, write the example of right writing and we all will make some requests to this exchange. Let's try ;-)
They don't have any coin or token with this ticker.

BTW, https://slimcoin.club/ is unreachable

Basically, they want 5% of coin supply, and some assuremenr that, we will develop coin, because of that is requirement of team members, I think.
This 5% requirement isn't so bad, if vol there is more than 1BTC, it could be beneficial for us, just these 2 trading platforms is really hard to achieve.
Maybe we can try on kucoin.com ?
There is some voting also.
Also mercatox there is free voting, if you deposit any crypto there.
I mean, that we must put more people to work, because otherwise, it will be hard to get to any exchange.

http://kucoinform.mikecrm.com/tAssDWK

We should ask AEX, if we could be added, just gather some SLM, and deposit them, maybe they'll pass on other requirements? I can volunteer for them about 30K SLM.
5% is about 780K, maybe little more, can we gather it?

Hello,

I had to re-sync my wallet...everything was going fine but then last night the wallet stopped syncing, apparently there are no active connections. I've tried adding new nodes, but nothing has helped. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks!

My addnodes:
Code:
addnode=37.187.100.75:41682
addnode=212.243.7.37:57208
addnode=161.53.40.94:54692
addnode=217.175.119.125:35959
addnode=217.65.8.75:34987
addnode=217.65.8.75:27670
addnode=5.9.39.9:41682
addnode=212.74.203.97:21773
addnode=91.20.13.10:56064
addnode=92.193.110.121:48782
addnode=92.193.110.121:40066
addnode=92.193.110.121:51681
addnode=5.105.63.44:64536
addnode=94.25.179.179:53001
addnode=39.128.196.200:2410
(I don't know how many of them are active, but I have no problems with syncing).

Otherwise, you may be stuck on an orphan block/fork. Until which block did your client sync?

@muf18, you're right, they're on AEX, but what is "BH"? (Edit: Ah maybe you meant BX Thailand.)
They seem however to have been added "for free" to AEX just some days ago ... may be worth a try?
Edit: I think I found their requirements here: in Chinese (Translation). I do not understand everything, but the "team of no less than 5 people" and "two more trading platforms" could be a problem.

But Cryptonite have 2 or 3 exchanges right now: aex, bh and bisq. Total vol about 1.5BTC, so it's not bad and marketcap so much bigger than ours. But I agree, we can search for other coins like ours, which communities would like to continue trading and cooperate with them to be viewed for exchanges as 'one package deal' - we could gather larger funds to be listed on some exchanges and negotitate some discounts. For me nice idea.

I thought, that because of trading dead, our project will cease into existence in time :/.
But I hope it won't, I don't know were we can get on other exchange/s, but it will surely come up in time.

Slimcoin was not traded at any site and had practically no development for almost all of 2016, so I it will survive this, too - it's not the fault of the coin, it's the fault of the current extremely profit-driven altcoin culture that practically forces altcoins to adopt a for-profit/centralized structure :-/

I have also an idea in mind for more resilience: partner with communities of other coins that have interesting properties. For example, some weeks ago I discovered Cryptonite (XCN), they're also a very technical-minded community and they have created an unique solution for the scalability problem called the "mini-blockchain" (their coin is also from 2014 and a full node syncs in 1 hour!). They have exactly the same problem like us here: they are listed only at Nova. Also, for example, as gjhiggins contributes to Datacoin and Gapcoin, too, these could also part of this group.

Let's call it "The Unique Altcoins Group". Or something similar Wink

I would say lets start out with simple jQuery, and Bulma with SASS

https://bulma.io

What do you think about it ? It will be compatible with Jykell, I think.
Looks good! As far as I can interpret it from the "first glance" pespective, it should be very easy to adapt the current website to Bulma, and I see no problems of compatibility with Jekyll. The only thing that could be a little more complicated is the menu, but it should be solvable.

And I completely agree with dragosroua's post, obviously.

In my opinion, the coin must have some real use, either for more visible web publishing projects or for merchants. The competition for Slimcoin is not Bitcoin, but the hundreds of colored coins underneath Bitcoin. If we can find a way to create a real use for this coin, then exchanges will ask us to list Slimcoin.

With web2web, I think we can find this as a way, to be different from other crypto assets, and tokens.
From then on website, and information campaign (which I can lead to many groups, and twitter also with some others help), and we should be good to roll in to some exchanges.
In the mean time, you can mine, because it was quite easy now to mine blocks.

whoa am I seeing that difficulty drop right? looks like a warehouse was taken offline.
Maybe it's a reaction to the "news" that NovaExchange has now closed deposits for all coins (there will be one more scan on December 15, but then it's over). So miners cannot sell their Slimcoins easily anymore. I urge the miners to use our Marketplace thread - there were only buy offers afaik.

Meanwhile, I now finally have set up my Fuseki instance and the blockchain is syncing with gjhiggins' blocknotify catchup script. This instance is now for testing on my local machine, but if everything goes well, in a few days or at most some weeks (very likely before Christmas) I expect to be able to provide a publicly accessible Fuseki instance with the Slimcoin blockchain in RDF. This will enable decentralized web2web websites to be displayed via a simple JavaScript web app and no additional software, using Slimcoin's blockchain as the "version manager".

That is the first item on my personal roadmap and I would like to complete it before the next two steps I plan, that are:

- add Slimcoin to a decentralized exchange (I have Bisq in mind but maybe there's something better, as Bisq fees are pretty high)
- embellish the slimco.in website with Semantic UI CSS (if there's nobody else that can do that).
