Spear the bees
Write in local forums is considered spammers Huh I do not understand this type of classification. Just in the campaign not accept posts in local forums. I write 99% in the forum of my native language, so I am considered spammers and are placed on a blacklist ?? I did not understand.
I don't see the problem with regulating the traffic that you're going to get for a campaign. An advertiser wouldn't want their English-based advertisement to show up in China, would they?

If there's an issue with that, then simply seek out a campaign that /does/ allow it. If there are none available, then don't do a campaign. Or... learn English, since those sections are where most discussions are held.

Unfortunately, AFAIK, most campaign managers speak English and not every single language in the Local section. There would be no way to monitor quality unless you knew the language well, and I'm sure that 99.99% of users here don't know all of those languages.

Goodbye, Z.
My weekly update is ready.
Updated your list.

The purpose of this is to fight against signature spam at least within the campaigns managed by the participants.
I've added a list of (bitcoin) campaigns that are currently covered under SMAS.
Yahoo, if you could send me a full list of all your campaigns, I can add the altcoin paying ones aswell.

Thanks guitarplinker, although I wanted to do it for the sake of experimenting.

so this is a core team and don't have place to other managers. it means we are (new managers) free to take our own decision and ignore your blacklists?
or we'll get negatives if we accept people ignored by you?
That would most likely be considered power abuse, so no. However, by accepting these members you are indirectly contributing to spam which I find shady as is.

That is of lesser importance right now. I may or may not write a small sorting program for my personal needs, so these would end up being automatically sorted and checked (to help automate the combined list). Generally, the list will serve as a decent starting point (for campaigns run by one of the participating managers or someone wanting to run their own campaign), but as a general measure of combating spam it is inadequate because of other campaigns (e.g. SecondsTrade, Komodo) at this time.
No need to write a program to do that for you. If you drop the data into Excel you can quickly sort it alphabetically.

If anyone is interested in seeing Lauda's list sorted alphabetically as it stands now, here is it:

Well, you're right, that works. However, for someone that likes to review who's in, a sorted list would be more effective.

That takes away the 'experimenting' part away, but thanks!

because it's not very informative for anyone seeking an username in it.
ctrl->f usually does the job.

The idea is good, and moreover is your list that is sorted alphabetically. If I have time I'll do the same to Lauda's list, because it's not very informative for anyone seeking an username in it.

Current blacklist can be found here. This is a portion of my list and Laudas list from bitmixer thread. More users will be added as i weed through campaigns under my control. Also awaiting Lutpins list so that those users may be added to the combined blacklist.

If you are on this list, does this mean your account is fucked? I have stated in the reputation thread that users who make the blacklist will have the option to ask that i review their account after 30 days. This means if youre on the list you have 30 days to improve your post quality. After that you may request a review. If you have improved significantly i will temporarily remove you temporarily from the list and place you on probation

The idea is really good. I do also like to forced my self to improve more of my posting quality as i am not sure thati am doing this all the time yet i am giving my full support to this campaign and as a member  all i can do for now is to improve  my quality post.
I will also create and to constantly update a thread on a local board to help my  fella's understand what is currently happening.

SMAS is back!

By initiative of Lauda, we've decided to revive the SMAS effort, however, we will be taking a different approach this time.
The initial concept of SMAS has been taken as a starting point and we worked to the current form from there.
There will be no two teams and there won't be two lists.
The new SMAS will work with a core team of 3 members (SMAS light), and we will work with a single blacklist.
OP and the first response have been updated to reflect these changes.

More to come!

Last chance.

Dear me, I think I'm becoming a god
also, as someone said earlier in the thread, you guys are acting as judge, jury and executioner
We're acting in the way we currently act each of us in their regarding campaign, just collective for all campaigns now.
This gives neither of us more, nor less power, it only distributes the power we have between all, or rather shifts some to the collective.
Why are we abled to act this way? Because the runners of the signature campaigns chose us to be in this spot.
It gives you guys more power, as we know, there is power in numbers.Wrong, the owners of the signature campaigns chose you guys to run your individual campaigns, no-one selected you guys to form a gang

Edit: also, i dont think you guys will be successful, cutting down of the spam would require some sort of administrative action.
If by administrative action, you mean theymos, good luck.
Communication with theymos has been hard for me this past year I've frequented the forum.
He's answered me on some requests and ignored others.
My impression is that, if theymos doesn't want to comment on a topic, literally nothing can make him do so.
I'd rather act in the way we are abled to, than hope for getting administrative support I can't currently expect.
there is always badbear and the other 20-30 moderators on the forum

Also, where is this list? Based on what lutpin said a few days ago, it should be just about ready
Things are moving slower than expected. We were planning to have a meeting this weekend to get everyone together on the same page and discuss things in realtime rather than a thread,
however, we've yet to agree on our primar means of communication and also I'm not sure how many guys will be around for it (I've only heard from yahoo).
I might have initially underestimated the amount of work that has to go into getting everything discussed/agreed on and started.

If you guys want to take the little project serious, the only viable means of communication would be skype, i've never seen anyone do anything worth doing on snapchat. How hard could it be to make a list, you guys collectively run most of the campaigns on the forum, you guys should be able to use information gathered from your campaigns to make the bulk of the list

I've  read through the first page or so and I have a suggestion, you guys need another member on your team, a neutral member so to speak, The spam here affects regular members, it would be mindless to not have at least one normal member in your team. Also, the campaign managers here have different standards for what is considered as spam, I believe notaek (spelling fixed by lutpin) is the most critical, this is another reason to have a neutral mind on board
Well, I'm open to getting a non-manager on board, however, this has to be discussed with everyone in the team.
We have to agree on a) whether or not adding someone and b) who to add.
Any addition to the active team gives power (even though little) over all our campaigns, which we can't transfer lightly (at least not to a 3rd party, so to speak).
If you guys are going to decide on the additional member then just dont do it, you guys will simply chose someone with the same state of mind as you guys, which is the problem I was trying to show you. Also, if you guys should add someone shouldnt be a question, obviously someone should be

You can't really "fight" spam.  You can monitor it or reduce it but you can't exactly eliminate it completely.
