Honestly this forum shouldnt be viewed as a paycheck. Posting for sig campaigns is a privilege. And obviously its not just 1 post that would earn them that tag. People need to realize the facts around here. Too much trash has been posted on a daily basis

Can I report here, is the Coinroll manager on board?

Is this campaign pay per post?
Looked over his posts. Definitely bad.

The campaign is 0.25 usd per post, and 0.0005 usd * total posts daily.
So that would be... approximately 0.1344 BTC from the posts and about 0.0033 BTC from the daily counts. The coinroll payments are manually paid every week, so notifying the campaign manager might be good. I'll do that right now.

There's replies every single minute! Even sometimes there's two replies in the same minute! It's all oneliners spaced out to look like they've posted more.

Total tally for the past 2 days as of this edit: 1:15 PM, EST - 337 posts from July 9th to July 10th

Thanks guys,

(doesn't really matter but,)  I see 402 posts in the last 24 hours from now. (6pm bst)
Your 337 is correct in calendar days, EST.
Either reference shows the point being made here!

You guys have a tough task here, but when such obvious spamming is happening, something clearly needs to change.

hermanhs09 is probably very poor, compared to western standards.
Is he earning over $40 per day at those rates? (if he is I'll be sig spamming myself soon!)
At least his English language is ok. Better than many others.

I think he started 4 threads yesterday in discussion alone. (don't know if he did the same to other boards)
Along with similar posters, BCT is overrun.
Sold out to advertising.
(i've started 2 threads in my whole time here i think)

I personally will try to never use any of these advertised sites BECAUSE of their sponsorship of these lowbrow advocates,
people who know nothing/very little of bitcoin, and/or people who can barely string a sentence together.
Most of these posts should at least be in the beginners section.
It is not really about bitcoin to these people, they only understand how to (try to) profit here.

This is not aimed at all sig wearers, but probably many.
I guess i'm not really the target market of these advertisers.
Especially the scammy ones.

Coinroll doesn't have a designated signature campaign manager in place.
I've contacted their forum representative (the OP of their signature thread; Namworld, as guitarplinker pointed out above) on behalf of SMAS
and asked whether they want to contribute to the effort or at least adapt the upcoming SMAS lists.

The CoinRoll manager is Namworld. It doesn't look like he's monitoring the signature campaign at all, here's what he said about it a few weeks back:

I'm sorry, I don't check bitcointalk that often anymore. I did while there was issues, but I though tracker was running smoothly.

Goodbye, Z.
Right now we have guitarplinker notaek sfr10 Lutpin gianluca95 and myself on board. I think we have a solid starting core
That's roughly the participation I've expected.
Plus/Minus a few candidates I didn't expect to join the effort/I'm still waiting to get into the camp.

I agree, we're a solid core that includes the majority of signature campaigns currently running and we should be abled to give it a try and make an impact with this roster.

I'll be contacting the managers and runners of those campaigns that haven't signed up for SMAS yet shortly and inform them about this effort, aswell as ask for their participation.

At this pace, I think we can kick off the SMAS protocoll early next week. After some discussion and only once we've closely elaborated the process, of course.

Goodbye, Z.
If you create a blacklist, you would need to constantly add people to it but one of the pros to this is that you won't overlook anyone who posts good content.
We're all signature campaign managers (so far). This means reading posts, checking post histories and managing lists is already part of our daily work.
I've been managing a blacklist in one of my campaigns in the past and it was some extra effort, but it was worth it (imo).
Creating a more global SMAS blacklist is going to take it's time and requires an extra effort from each participating manager, but I'm ready to bring in that extra effort.

If you create a whitelist instead, you can more easily create the list (it would be far smaller), however, it would also take some time to scour all the campaigns for high-quality posters.
Ideally, each manager would do that for their own campaign and the others just run checks on that.
I like the idea of decentralizing the SMAS protocoll and allowing each of the participants to work their area, creating SMAS as a community effort, being made up of each and everyones participation.

I would say that an appeal thread might be a good idea for users that wish to either leave the blacklist or get on the whitelist
That's a valid suggestion, and we'll think about some way to contact us and appeal SMAS listings.
However, the way I'm looking to run SMAS we're already constantly rechecking, updating and keeping up with recent changes.

I'm definitely into this campaign.
Glad to have you on board.

Great idea. Spamming is highly increased in this forum, especially in economics, gambling, and digital goods section.
I'm definitely into this campaign.

Although I would agree with this concept in its foundation, I do think that there are two ways to do this:

If you create a blacklist, you would need to constantly add people to it but one of the pros to this is that you won't overlook anyone who posts good content.

If you create a whitelist instead, you can more easily create the list (it would be far smaller), however, it would also take some time to scour all the campaigns for high-quality posters.

Both of these take time, but you need to decide on one. Honestly, they're quite equal.

I would say that an appeal thread might be a good idea for users that wish to either leave the blacklist or get on the whitelist

If anybody improves and thinks that they shouldn't be in the blacklist anymore, they can make an appeal here for a review, resulting in striking off their names. So no need to create a whitelist.

Im not looking to destroy dreams myself but it appears that multiple warnings arent working. Banning accounts isnt working since not enough ppl are getting banned(as you see 2-3 accounts a week in mets from ppl crying why am i banned). So i think we need to take a more aggressive route. Hit users in the pocket.

Goodbye, Z.
If a sort of "campaign blacklist" was created and maintained to prevent spammers from entering the signature campaigns, I'm hoping that would cut down on some of the forum spam around here. However, for a blacklist like this to be effective, every signature campaign would have to participate in the blacklist, or else these spammers would just join a campaign that isn't using the blacklist.
I agree, that's why we've started this thread and why we're looking for as much support as we can get.
The more campaigns we can get to support SMAS, the better it is, ultimatively, we'd be looking to add the SMAS protocoll as a part of all campaigns ruleset.

I'd be on-board for something like this.
I'll add you to OP and will include you in the next group PMs discussing further details.

and what will you do? I mean how will you tag them? with giving negative feedback or tag them with another way?
Details are not yet public and also still up to discussion between us.
I've got a concept I'm going to push, but I'm also open to suggestions from all other participants.
Fact is, something needs to be done and smas is supposed to be made up by users who agree and want to help.

If someone is a good and legit trader, exchange and dealer here and you or Luptin give him negative feedback for one spam post..
can you imagine what will happen?? his all bitcoin life/journey will finish after that, after getting red tagged he can't even survive here anymore.
I (myself) wont be giving negative feedbacks over the post quality of a user. I understand that with being on DT I have to be a lot more considerate about my feedbacks.
That much I can already say. We'll be going another way than that.
I'm not looking to "destroy bitcoin dreams" here. This is about making the forum more worthwhile for everyone and targetting spam.

My ideas go as far as tagging all accounts that i see spamming forums so that theyre no longer able to be campaign participants. Ill wait n see what the rest of these guys think and we will come up with something for sure though

Im glad to be a part of this. Hopefully we can take care of some business and clean this place up.

Great Start...
I am already in a campaign which is in Under Yahoo. so no need to bring my manager here. lolzz
one question. do you guys smas users for his past/previous posts?? or give peoples one more chance?

As far as im concerned i wanna treat this like a courtroom. Your past will always be there for us to explore and look into. If users are gonna change they had better do it NOW cause if we getour sights set on you we will be checking the past n making our decisions on how to proceed.
