I have been a heavily gambling person for a lot of time from August 2019 up until recently when I decided to quit, people often lack the courage to make a bold decision, the decision of not gambling anymore. I did it today and despite I was not depositing from November 2024 today the scam of one of the so called reputable casinos was at another level, in the so called Stake casino that has nothing to do with the old Stake casino when things used to just work and people were happy, was the main motivator for me to take this move and call it a day.

So what happened was that I bought 5 times the bonus buy costing 500x the bet in order to enter there and during all these 5 times the maximum I got was 2.7x of my bet so I spend about x2500 my bet balance to get about nearly x15 of my bet balance, this is a super joke and super scam that you cannot find anywhere else.

People should be able to make bold decisions in decisive moments like this one, now very few casinos remain on my list of play, in fact there are only two, so far never such a brutal scam in either one of them, will update with other threads if that ever happens though I highly doubt it will.

if you no longer felt like playing and being in this sector, you did well
It's not easy to fight yourself and your defects, many are unable to stop worse vices for this very reason
I found my balance with cigarettes for example, i smoke a maximum of 5 cigarettes a day and i imposed it on myself otherwise
This is why i tell you that fighting against yourself is very difficult

I don't request loans~

Congrats! If you're feeling a bit of withdrawal symptoms, I'd suggest playing a bit with some free-ish types of games to scratch your itch. Or just repetitive but simple type of games (I recommend Balatro) to take your mind off of it. I applaud the immediate decision but stuff like these usually takes a period of time to actually stop. It's pretty similar to how a drug addict would be recommended to slowly ease it in instead of trying to suddenly be clean instantly. That's just how addiction goes I guess.

Quitting gambling is a hard decision to make, we should not deceive ourselves that the moment we just said it then it will come to pass as we have said, things don't world like that, if e truly want to quit, then we will less talk about it, because the more we are talking on it, people will start bringing in their various suggestions as well as observations, so i don't see it as lack in courage from most of the situations seen, but many of the gamblers were found not to really know what they actually want, then i want you to see gambling for having fun and being entertained and nothing more.
It is correct that quitting gambling is not hard and it is not possible for every gambler. If it is possible then many people would commit suicide by losing on gambling which could be avoided. And also they would not take loans to gamble and also they would not engage in anything that is not legit for the gambler.
we make it look like we cant stay without gambling or as if everyone must gamble. if you know that gambling is getting the better of you and that you leave worse than you have been when you gamble, it is only better than you give it a break or quite if that is the only option available for you to take. which situation would you want to find yourself in? getting indebted and bankrupt because you have gambled to the point you can no longer control yourself or quitting even if it is momentarily till you have gotten your sanity back and then you can decide what to do about your gambling life again?

even though making the decision is not going to be easy for someone that has been in the ecosystem for long and that have built systems around him that compels him to gamble more often, it might just involve making an intentional decision of getting out of that system for the sake of your sanity and so if you are gambling for any reason you can do so responsibly.

Well done on such a good step, It's good to see you working towards staying through to your decision indeed it's not about saying you want to quit gambling. its about actually taking actions to stop it's not going to be easy, it doesn't happen overnight, but one step at a time makes a lot of difference and it matters.

I just pray that people that are shifting into gambling addiction or going through a down moment in their gambling could come across your post and make a firm decision and stick by it. It's normal to  keep getting the temptation to go back, in fact to double your stake when you are trying to quit but we must hold on our decisions.

So basically you were malding about the recent playing session and then decided to quit. Well, that's good whatever your reason to quit, quitting itself is a success.
However what you call a "super joke and super scam" is actually a common thing even more if you play high volatility slots with x10,000++ max win. I think this tragedy is more common nowadays since newer slots games tend to be more "crazy."

Anyway, if you decide to quit, you better delete all your casino accounts since this kind of rekt scenario could happen in other casinos as well.
Wish you good luck mate Smiley

Well, it takes a lot to be firm with the decision of not gambling. It's still not a lot, based on the timeline that you have, but as long you know what you are doing and know why you are doing it, it is a great decision.

There should be more stories like you and maybe a lot of people could overcome their addiction problems and I hope that you would be on the journey to be staying strong with this.

It's definitely exploitation in someway those bonuses are set up. It's better not to participate in those kinds of promos.

Good for you that you were able to walk away from something that you think no longer fits your goals and preferences anymore. Some people do in fact can't do this. I always say that in gambling it is not like we will always win but if you feel like you are already losing way beyond than you would prefer then maybe it is time to consider leaving rather than continuing and proceeding to blame the entire gambling community when you could have done something to stop your suffering anyway.

Kudos to you, OP.

It's unclear how you'll know what's going on at the two remaining casinos on your list if you decide to stop gambling altogether. If I understood correctly. Of course, such losses are just a disaster. I would have thought about it too.. Anyway, if you decide to stop playing, it's probably the best solution in this situation. At least temporarily.

Someone some time ago there was a user who also exclude himself yet found himself creating a other account for him to play again. I hope this will not happen to you, just fight back to that monkey behind your back.

It wouldn't be possible for me to quit instantly especially because I have commited myself to take back what was lost from me.   But congrats to you @swogerino it must be the right time.

So true. Quitting on gambling is a gradual process which does even need some sort of announcement towards actualising it. Saying it alone doesn't immediately become the result but through intentional effort and determination to hold on to decision taken. We can liken gambling addiction to a wound (an injury to the flesh), it takes a gradual process with medical attention to get it healed and covered for an open wound. It's a tough decision the op  have taken but I do know that tough decisions are taken one day and achieved with time, his wouldn't be any different from being achieved if he could totally avoid having anything gambling related and get occupied with other non-boring and creative activities he has passion for.

If you really want to quit gambling forever, that means you need to have discipline and stick to that and not tempting for playing gambling anymore. No matter if the casino have reputation or not, if you say that you want to quit gambling, you must courage yourself and commit with what you say. You don't have to back to casino and play gambling even for occasionally because that can makes your minds thinks that one more play is enough for me. That can makes you keep playing gambling in the other days and in the end will makes you always back to casino and continue gambling.

Finally, after starting numerous threads, ranting about scam casinos and game providers over and over again, you're quitting. Perhaps that's the best thing to do. I could smell your frustration every time you open a thread against Pragmatic Play and Stake. But you kept on playing, anyway. And then you lose again, got emotionally carried away, start another thread about the "worse scam", play again, lose again, open another angry thread, and so on.

I'm curious, though. If it's an indefinite exclusion, you can reactivate it anytime, right? Have you attempted this in the past? You mentioned before that you reinstated your Stake account.

Anyway, congratulations! I hope this will last for a while.

Sorry for your losses, brother, but it takes something like this to make a firm decision to quit gambling; its the realization and feeling of guilt, but you will eventually get over it. its good that pride did not hinder you from quitting; there are instances where pride will stop you from quitting or go on hibernation, but I'm sure you will be back playing and playing for entertainment.
There are still a lot of good casinos here; if you decide to come back, take time to find the right one for you and don't spend what you can't afford to lose. Finding the right casino and spending what you can afford is the key to good playing time.

Yes, always going to be a big and difficult decision to quit something which plays a
big role in our lives whether its an addiction or not, even more difficult if it is an addiction
and someone is either on a winning streak of in the process of chasing losses.

I can imagine there would never be or rarely be a perfect time to quit, we can
convince ourselves to keep going fod reasons above.

Well done to swogerino the OP for making the decision and implementing it.

True, addiction can sometimes deny us the ability to quit at once but over time, you can quit. Even if you don't want to stop it at once you can restrain your self bit by bit and gradually you might get a hang of not gambling anymore. It takes courage for a gambler to stay so long away from his gambling activities. There's are so many things that might be tempting but he would have to resist at all cost.
