Microsof accepting BTC now, Japan using it soon?

It is true that you can add money to your Mircosoft account using Bitcoins. But the second statement is just a rumor. The Japanese government is not going to use Bitcoins anytime in the near future, because BTC is a direct competitor to the JPY.

Under what rock have you been hiding? Explain these:

Countdown: Bitcoin Will Be a Legal Method of Payment in Japan in Two Months
Bitcoin Accepting Shops in Japan Increase Drastically, by 4.5x
20 000 merchants accepting Bitcoin in Japan

Please don't be, like, ".. but they are not using it as a currency." because no government ever will. It will just be a legal payment method but it will not replace their fiat currency. Fiat currency is very essential to the government and there's no reason for them to replace their fiat currency with bitcoin since bitcoin isn't mainstream yet. But certainly they are starting to accept or already accepting bitcoins now.

Nothing special there. Bitcoins are already legal in countries such as Singapore and the United States. The status of the crypto-currency will be legalized. That is it[1]. But you can't say that "Japan is using it soon"[2]. Some of the Japanese are already using it, and the latest development will make hardly any difference.[3]

Funny how I just proved your point wrong using facts and links of them and you just said "nothing special there" Roll Eyes About the latest updates in the technology we can expect that rich countries like Singapore and the US will have it first.

[1] That's it? It's not a "that's it" thing because the concept of bitcoin definitely is not the same as the government's centralized system. From our point of view, it's pretty obvious that bitcoin users don't want to use fiat anymore and are well-aware of the fiat slavery going on in the system. It's not a "that's it" thing just because you saw Singapore and the US has accepted it. There's far more many countries and all these countries will have different opinion on something as big as bitcoin.

[2] Why? I don't see any reason why I cannot or shouldn't.

[3] Of course some Japanese have been using it. Just like how a couple of people in other countries are using it. Small amount of people using bitcoins in a country don't matter at all since all the rest are still using fiat and aren't aware of bitcoins at all. The latest development or implementation for bitcoin being a legal payment method will surely make a huge difference since it will make all the other Japanese people that something like bitcoins is existing and they can use it. And since Japan is one of the countries people look up to, if they started using bitcoins, other people might use it as well.

Hacks turn out to be good buying opportunities as of recent

So if some major exchange like Kraken or Bitstamp (or Bitfinex again, though I don't know if it counts as a major exchange nowadays) gets hacked, and the price plunges to, say, $700, don't hesitate to buy back what you sold at $900 per coin. In respect to selling right now, you can always sell a little and leave a little just for the case the price continues to climb. As I said before, we can only know it retrospectively if the price was high or low. If the price hits the $1,000 mark tomorrow or in a week (which is quite possible, to be honest), today's prices won't look really high
Yeah, Don't take any hesitation on buying bitcoins from ranging 700-800$ because it is low compare for the price now and you are right also that we need to sell some of our bitcoins so we can secure some of our profits and just wait for another opportunity to buy cheaper coins and sell it for a higher price again. Buy low sell high Roll Eyes.

Well, 900 dollars per coin looks very cheap now. But such prices were thought as high just about a week ago, though this doesn't mean that we can't crash way below $900 (easy come, easy go). It would be particularly interesting (as well as profitable) to see at which point this pump will finally turn into a dump (kinda looks we are going for the second top presently, if you know what I mean). It seems that quite a few people had got fooled into this rally expecting it to end sooner rather than later, and ultimately became cannon fodder to the market and those who are manipulating it...

There can be only few

why we didn't crush when we were at $600 for example? i don't think bitcoin is only pump and dump at this point it look very solid and stable, if it was like you said it would return to $200 but instead it went very high and it's going even higher, i'm convicted we won't see $900 again, new bottom will be $1000 very soon

It is as interesting to read what was written two months ago (just short of two days)

And it turned right that I had been right in my "prophecy" (kinda "I told you so"). Bitcoin did flash crash to 750 dollars per coin in about a week after I had submitted that post, wtf. Regarding why we didn't crash below 600 dollars (when we were there), in fact we crashed even below 500 dollars, but that was primarily due to Bitfinex hack (though the price had been declining even before that pitiful event). We stayed long enough (for a month or so) below 600 after that and started to grow slowly (though pretty steadily, without major corrections). As to the question whether Bitcoin is still a pump and dump thing mostly, yes, I'm inclined to think that it is, for the most part. What we see these days seems to be a typical pump phase (said to be connected with ETF approval expectations and hype thereof)

If you need to ask then the most likely answer is no, while I think bitcoin is a great investment, you are considering to invest in bitcoin without knowing the potential risk, so you are not investing at all you are gambling and even if at the end you make money that will only encourage similar behavior in the future that could cost you a lot of money.

Microsoft alread accepted bitcoin since long time ago, but more companies in japan have interested to investing more money on the bitcoin startup like bitflyer. And mitsubishi had done it in the past.
Microsoft is accepting BTC but AFAIK it is limited to only certain products and only for citizens of the US. If you live outside US you can buy anything with BTC from them.
Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. invested in Bitcoin startup and companies before and nothing really happened. Almost year ago they invested in Coinbase.
They are testing the ground for their own digital currency which will be basically digital Yen backed by their private blockchain.

For me, this is kind of a huge investment, but should I actually do it?

What are the risks of doing this?

If you are thinking of investing in bitcoins then do it today and do not wait for tomorrow. Do not waste time since every time you waste time bitcoins value will keep climbing up and your chance of getting more profit will turn to slim. The only risk in investing bitcoins are the hackers but it happens only once in a while and only to a selected few. I have been on bitcoin since 2014 but i never experienced being hacked or my bitcoin stolen.

Well if you will buy it right now, before halving, i am sure that you will get lots of profit from bitcoins if you will sell them after halving

Because i am sure that price will rise, and it will be larger than now for sure, anf buying bitcoins is always good thing to do

Yes! The higher your investments are the bigger your income will be. And i don't think you have to worry about risks right now, the price of btc is steadily going up and you may just be earning a lot already within a couple of days. It's even better if you bought your btcs earlier this month, imagine your earnings now if you did that

I think so. It is better to buy some bitcoin now. It will rise when more people are aware of it.

Valuation isn't cyclical to a degree where prices are required to decline as much as they increase to satisfy laws of symmetry.

It could as easily go to $2,000 and we'll never see $300 or $600 again.

Just as we never saw a $12 BTC again after the price rose above that point.

This! Its pure economics, and there is no certainty. The question though was whether he should invest the 1k Euro, and he alluded to the fact that it was a lot of money for him. Therefore, it would be unwise to invest any amount you consider to be a lot for you as you there are no guarantees whatsoever.

but it's not very comparable, going above $12 is very easy anyone can pump at that value bitcoin and make it not go again under $12, now you need many investors to maintain this value, and the more you go high the more money you need to keep the value

No. Your time has past to do it.
You do realize the price has not been this high in the history of it's existence.
Don't you? Embarrassed
so what, it will most probably come down to like 1000 usd so it will definitely be possible, the price cannot just go up and never down, it is just how bitcoin works, we are on the bitcoin pump right now, so expect it to drop.
Oh really know?
Where have you been hiding for the lat 4 hours?
This is getting beyond and over the ath high has been broken and it is not coming down.

Party all night long and have a companion with you to celebrate this historic event of going to the moon tonight!

Truth is Only one - La verdad es solo Una -
I suggest you this:
- do it if this is not your only money, i truly believe btc is going to many changes right now. ETF, regulations, etc. But anyhow is a good investment.
- do it if you think of it as a savings account to invest in future ico of new companies or just buying a miner later on
- do it if you want to make yourself more confident about crypto, i believe this a good way to deal with our fears about digital currencies (if there is any)
- do some research to get the best options to buy, beware of scams

good luck
