no i don't think you should sell your bitcoins, that would be very dumb move now
what is your minimum attainable price and what is the price you are expecting and at what price you are willing to sell the coins.I will be glad to sell off my coins if i am earning a good profit and it all depends upon at what price i entered.
Why to sell bitcoins now is dumb now? The price is high - time to sell. I think such high price attracts hackers who wants to get mullions of dollars with some easy way. So this moment is dangerous, cause of in any moment can happen some new big hacking.

Hacks turn out to be good buying opportunities as of recent

So if some major exchange like Kraken or Bitstamp (or Bitfinex again, though I don't know if it counts as a major exchange nowadays) gets hacked, and the price plunges to, say, $700, don't hesitate to buy back what you sold at $900 per coin. In respect to selling right now, you can always sell a little and leave a little just for the case the price continues to climb. As I said before, we can only know it retrospectively if the price was high or low. If the price hits the $1,000 mark tomorrow or in a week (which is quite possible, to be honest), today's prices won't look really high
Yeah, Don't take any hesitation on buying bitcoins from ranging 700-800$ because it is low compare for the price now and you are right also that we need to sell some of our bitcoins so we can secure some of our profits and just wait for another opportunity to buy cheaper coins and sell it for a higher price again. Buy low sell high Roll Eyes.

Well, 900 dollars per coin looks very cheap now. But such prices were thought as high just about a week ago, though this doesn't mean that we can't crash way below $900 (easy come, easy go). It would be particularly interesting (as well as profitable) to see at which point this pump will finally turn into a dump (kinda looks we are going for the second top presently, if you know what I mean). It seems that quite a few people had got fooled into this rally expecting it to end sooner rather than later, and ultimately became cannon fodder to the market and those who are manipulating it...

There can be only few

why we didn't crush when we were at $600 for example? i don't think bitcoin is only pump and dump at this point it look very solid and stable, if it was like you said it would return to $200 but instead it went very high and it's going even higher, i'm convicted we won't see $900 again, new bottom will be $1000 very soon

There is trouble abrewing
For me, this is kind of a huge investment, but should I actually do it?

What are the risks of doing this?

€1,000 is not a very big amount for me. But I don't know about your situation. If you are a student or someone with outstanding loans, then I would advice against investing in Bitcoins. I agree that the exchange rates have increased by more than 400% during the last 12 months. But some of the analysts are saying that there will be a major correction very soon. So be careful.

this is what i also suggest to anyone i know. it is best if people talk about investment in percentages of their networth or something like that instead of saying exact numbers.

there is also a misunderstanding that they have to buy "1 whole bitcoin" and they say it is expensive so we don't buy. which is wrongs since you can buy any amount even $1 worth of it.

Analysts always say that there will be correction, recession, market collapse, the bitcoin price can't sustain itself etc.
But they also said many times that real and 'true' price of bitcoin is €2000 or €5000 or €10k - depending on who is behind the calculation.
The reality is - when you buy bitcoin - you most likely will earn money from that investment, not matter how high you bought it, at some point price will be higher.

I guess you have the best answer now OP. You have lived to tell the story; one year ago since you posted  this question I guess the pumps and increases after halving has at least quadrupled your initial investment at least.

IF OP have really bought bitcoin way back when he posted this thread and even months before that, Im sure by now he is smiling and had a huge sum of profit from his €1000 investment. Don't hesitate OP to rebuy back again if you feel like it when the price dumped you can just buy the amount you have sold or you can go all in with what you have gained from selling now. I just hope that you have left a little amount of bitcoin that you owned since there is a possibility that it might go up or down again.

yes, i think we can sell our bitcoin for this time because the price is high. but if you buy bitcoin in $900, you only make profit like $200 and for me, still its a big money. for now, i think €1000 equal with 1.xx bitcoin and if you think that you are fine with the amount of bitcoin then you can buy now and hold it for a while.

The price is already $1160. It is better to hold again.

No, it isn't that much money. One really hard-working guy, even without any qualification, can earn that in just one week in a rich country. Now it is even less than the value of 1BTC, so since 1BTC isn't that much money (yes that's a good amount of money but not a fortune, and not that much finally), I consider it now to be even less to be a lot of money !

Buy and hold has been the way to go since the crash from $1,000 down to $250 2-3 years ago. When btc was at $250 2 years ago you had to know it was just a matter of time until it was going to hit $1,000 again. Buying from $200-$500 was a boss move. Keep holding. In two years expect $2,000 but not sooner than 2 years.
It's the easiest way to make profit this time, we have seen how the price of bitcoin improve for this year, so one must realize that it will continue to rise and investors will continue to make profit.

Next year, the price could be doubled to $2000 or even higher if we can have 8MB block size to accommodate the transactions.

Big block size is good for on chain transactions.

Because the price is only relatively high, it is indeed high compared to 3 months ago, but this isn't even an alltime high, so sure you can sell now, and make a decent amount of profit, but the people who are going to be making real bank aren't the ones selling..

Soon bitcoin will probably go through the roof, If we just follow the current route we're on,  with bitcoin getting more popular every day. (+1000BTC). That is why you're better off waiting a bit longer.
Also it is not like hackers are only attracted in hacking huge services if the prices are high, they always want to. even if the price is low, for example 600$ Per BTC, they still make millions.
that is right. hacker will take what they can take and only if there are some bugs in a website and it's vulnerable then they will trying to steal this. hacking is not about clicking a software and all the data or money will appear in your monitor but hacking is depend on the vulnerability of a website so better for you to search for exchangers which have good security
