Zcash is real reverse bubble. Price will go down in this month, so it could be great idea for Zcash owners to sale it now. Zcash is something like ETH bubble, but reverse one. Former ETH users can not switch to Zcash unfortunately.
I was just knowing that this will happen. I wanted to buy it on 1B but after that I remember what happen to 42 coin 
and was scared to invest again in such [Suspicious link removed]d old days of mining 42 coin... I can say that Zcash was looking very promising in the beginning but after that not so much

I feel terribly sorry for them. specially the losers who bought at 1K+ BTC price.
That being said, one should consider the probability of manipulation (by dev, polo, fans, etc.), because it's really hard to believe someone was stupid enough to pay that much!

If Zcash had opened at 0.2 BTC and remained fairly stable, would people be so against it? Is it worse that most other Alts?

Unfortunately this happened with most Altcoins. At the launch date, all of them started at a high price and then fell down day after day until a stable price is established. If you want to buy Altcoins, ALWAYS buy them about one month after release and you'll be fine.
I agree had experienced this on two coins but these are exceptions some coins tend to increase the price when the projects start to roll,traders have different perception.some of them just want to pump and dump ,some of them wants long term profit.

If you know how to enter then you should know when to exit and this is the hardest part on trading because price is unpredictable though and people who do make trades with it. I really feel sorry for those stupid traders or investors who bought zcash on insane prices. Better to wait for a month before you decide to trade with it, just letting up the hype gone.
