thought it has been since the beginning,but seems that it was introduced in 2016, straight after the launch
it is a common practice to restrict the US IP access (mind you,most of the US players use VPN and have no problems accessing the site)
for example,many other casinos have similar rules,they do not allow deposits from Australia,US players
you can login,but cannot deposit,unless you change your IP
there is no other way to determine whever you live in the US and,fortunately,KYC in the online casinos is not a must
so changing IP should work in most cases

I've checked with internet archive, but it doesn't work too well, so I narrowed it between July and November 2017. I hope it's good enough.

Edit: I made more checks. The text has change, but US was already prohibited in March 2016.

Since when did bitsler block US players?

For users that are ip blocked by cloudflare, most of the time, restarting your modem(not router), will change your ip address. This works for users that are on dynamic ip from their ISP.
And just to clarify, being ip blocked by cloudflare does not mean your Bitsler account is also blocked.

Why am i getting IP blocked by cloudflare?
There are several reasons for this. Due to the recent and current DDOS attacks, Bitsler has enabled a higher security level on cloudflare, and by doing this, accessing the website is now more stricter.

Some common reasons(not all) on why you are gettings IP blocked:

• Your IP address has been flagged by Cloudflare as a spam/bot/attack/malicious IP
• Your browser software has been flagged by Cloudflare
• You are accessing the site too fast which can be seen as a DDOS attack by Cloudflare
• A malicious software/malware/spyware or virus is running on your computer

As stated above, the IP block happens on the Cloudflare side, not on Bitsler, so Bitsler has very little power to manage "false positives"

Why the need for this stricter security?
Bitsler has been a target of DDOS attack very often, so this stricter security is a must to keep Bitsler running for most of the users.

Some tips to access Bitsler with no issues:

• As stated above, if your IP is blocked, restarting your modem will change your IP
• Use popular browsers, such as Chrome,Firefox and Edge
• Clean/clear/delete your browser cookies and cache
• Scan your computer for malware, spyware and viruses
• Do not use unofficial Bot Apps/Programs to access Bitsler
• Avoid accessing Bitsler site using multiple tabs as this will count as multiple connections on a single IP, which Cloudflare might detect as an attack

I encountered similar problems once, but after refreshing my browser, the problem disappeared and I am able to access bitsler again. It may caused by the recent ddos attack and bitsler has to change something in regard with the account security. Btw, bitsler will go under maintenance soon. Lets hope it will run as expected and all these issues will be gone!

After a long time of not playing dice I am glad to see that you guys finally added STRAT on your casino! Love to play with them! Also that 50% referral commissions is very attractive for marketers!

Just be patient for the update t be completed and once Bitsler Support announced that they completed site update and you are still having a hard time logging in you send a support ticket or post here about your log-in problem.

I also have difficulties, because I have to use VPN service.

This is not how to think a great site is. I am sure ddos thing is really annoying yet it need to be there to make sure the site is improving, without the ddos, their team will never know about the site, they will thibk everything is fine. What I think ddos is helping their team and bitsler team to be more cautious about their system and the security as well. And yes hopefully they will fix everything here and improve theirnsite to be a better site

Thanks Gabriel for answer. DDOS is great, why? Because you have enemies and this happens when you are great in something.
Hope you won't miss my post and mention your attention on upcoming games, I mean if bitsler plans to offer us something new and exciting, implementation of cryptocurrencies was really great news but such a great casino which is trustworthy among players, has potential to successfully add new games and grow it's audience.

I totally agree even Bitcointalk is experiencing a lot of DDOS attacks in the past and I don't think it will stop soon. We cannot even blame on rival gambling/casino sites as well as they are experiencing this kinds of attacks. This attacks are making their service look bad prevebting some members to go back to that site again. As a user what we can only do is to give this services our patience as this is what they needed when they are bringing back their service.

I don't think these types of attacks are expensive.

Most of them are funded with stolen CC purchased on the dark web pretty much. If anything it's more labour intensive than cost effective. Hence why there are DDOs attacks almost everywhere crypto related.

It's not only crypto casinos it's also exchanges and many times pools get DDOS to gain a small advantage to certain miners.

The casinos should never give in and pay. Doing so will seem weak and will lead to getting more threats in the near future.

it is sad that some ***** are trying to extort Bitsler (and by the looks of it not Bitlser only,there was a wave of the same DDOS attacks on crypto casinos)

I won't quote all of you but I read all your messages and will try to give you answers.

First of all the update has been postponed again because bitsler is constantly under intense DDOS attacks for few days.
It already happened in the past and we did not change our mind about that: we will never negotiate with this kind of people and threats.
Our dev team is working hard with Cloudflare to fight back and upgrade the protection we have at the moment. A few more things need to be set up during the weekend and the update should happen on Monday (June 4th 2018 at 11 PM).

Once again we want to thank you all for your patience and your support, it's really amazing to still see so many of you in the chat even when Bitsler is under attacks.

About the PMs on Bitsler, they won't be enabled again. You will be able to PM only mods and admins.
Like I said before we had too many complains and issues because of beggars, scammers, and people who used PM to promote other websites, etc... On top of that, we also had to deal with many issues relating to loans between players (even if they are not allowed inside Bitsler).  For all those reasons PM won't come back on Bitsler. We planned to improve our chat and most things will be improved, but somethings will be left behind.

About the available currencies on Bitsler, we are in a test period. In our opinion all the main currencies are already available, so we are now trying some others to see which ones are the most attractive for our players. Some of them have their own specificities (ripple which is centralized, ...) and almost all of them are planning changes and updates so we prefer a flexible approach (some currencies could be added and then removed).  About tokens (EOS and TRON) it will mainly depend on how the migration is going.
I also saw your interest in Tether (USDT). To be honest it probably won't happen. Yes, crypto markets are moving fast and nobody knows if it will continue or if the market will stabilize at some point. But Bitsler is a crypto casino and, in our opinion, if you use crypto, you need to accept how it works. If you want to gamble more stable currencies there are many USD or EUR casinos :slightly_smiling_face.

The legal part doesn't make sense however since...

Most casinos don't require any AML/KYC and yet they refuse to list USDT.

Most exchanges that trade USDT require AML/KYC and its listed on over a dozen exchanges. Some like Kraken even list both USD and USDT.

Of course nice to see all new coins, what they will add, especially  Ripple (XRP), but it same time I agreed with you, yes, adding coins which are pegged to the US dollar like Tether (USDT) will resolve many of problems. But I think the main reason why they didn't it yet - that's legal part, since many of users asked them about it already.
