From the statements in this thread, I can see that majority of Bitcointalk users like sports betting. Unfortunately, I am not a sports specialist and when I bet on some matches, they are rather matches of the national team or cup finals. I like casinos much more. I mostly look for free spins or play low stakes slots just to relax without having to think about work.

I do like both sports betting and casino games but do not gamble frequently. I do place some sports betting when there are big or interesting soccer matches and I play some casino games anytime I want. The most important thing, I do gamble for entertainment purpose only. Most of the games in the casino is indeed a pure luck based games like dice and roulettes, but there were also those games that requires knowledge and expertise like poker and other pvp card games. However, I guess not every online casino are offering the same kind of game like the Texas Hold Em poker, and so we prefer sports betting instead of those pure luck based game which not everyone finds it an enjoyable and challenging way to burn your money lol.

But, you people are mistaking casino games. Profit making may not be the only target for many gamblers here then how it will be possible to choose either one? Roulette was my favourite casino table. One day I won 7k usd on roulette table. But I couldn't retain it. I lost all the usd in 10 minutes and day by day my lossing amount increased. Sometimes casino table was so tough. Whatever I bet all lost. No sequence maintained. If I won a day, I would loss 5 days at a stretch. It seemed all was fixed. I shifted to sports betting. I started to follow biggest football league like English premier League, la Liga, french Liga etc. Researched the teams statistics and placed bet. Gradually I covering my losses. What's your experience?

Yes it depends on each player because we have different preference when it comes to gambling. In my case I enjoy playing luck based games like slots and dice. I can get instant result, its entertaining and exciting as well. But there's no certain strategy that can help to increase the chances to win. Sports bet on other side is a bit different because having knowledge is an edge to win, this is also where I often get a good result. But most of the time when I gamble, I spend it playing games that requires more on luck.

I guess it all depends if you just want to have fun and test your luck, then you choose the casino. If you want to test your knowledge of sports and have experience, then you can try to earn money by betting on sports.
Isn't it common that casino is a game of luck? Therefore anyone who gambles at this is testing their luck. But that test shouldn't be the always habit of gamblers as while they are taking the chances at the casino, the amount of loss was also increasing without being noticed.
