The pitch is suitable for spin bowling therefore if Srilanka can reach 140 then it will be a defendable target as they have good spinners in their bowling lineup. Great analysis overall. I was stunned to see Scotland lose against Ireland when they were cruising towards a win at one particular stage. What a crazy start to this World Cup edition.

Netherlands: Only team with 4 points at this point. But their next match is against Sri Lanka. And their run-rate is below that of both Namibia and Sri Lanka. My prediction is that Netherlands may finish at the 3rd place and miss the Super-12.

Sri Lanka: Rebounded from their shocking loss to Namibia, with a strong win against the UAE. Next match is against Netherlands and in all probability they should win it by a big margin. My prediction is that they will finish at either 1st or 2nd place in Group A.

Namibia: Remaining match is against the UAE. They should win this match with ease. Given the good NRR, they should finish at 1st position and proceed to the Super-12.

UAE: out of the world cup.

Group B

West Indies: Lost to Scotland, but destroyed Zimbabwe. In NRR, they are well behind Scotland. A big win against Ireland may propel them to 1st position, but it will be quite difficult. My prediction is 2nd position in Group B.

Scotland: Pathetic loss to Ireland, but still their NRR is quite good. If they manage to defeat Zimbabwe, then they should finish at the top of the group.

Ireland: Remaining match against West Indies. Not much hope. May finish at 4th position.

Zimbabwe: Will be the underdogs in the match against Scotland. May finish at 3rd position.

What a shit show by Zimbabwe! This defeat proves that they were over confident and ignored all the warnings. I am also pretty much sure that this Zimbabwe team is completely dependent on one single guy, Sikandar Raza.

One of the primary reason that I can quote is that because of him they were able to restrict West Indies as he was the only bowler to get 3 important wickets when required.

The top batters of Zimbabwe were drooling with over confidence if you do not believe me just check the two wickets that were taken by Joseph in the early overs. What made them think it is proven by their humiliating defeat today.

I think it is a lot to do with the in experience of the Zimbabwe team but it is still a young team which needs to work a lot and not be dependent on one single guy. I also think Sikander Raza might get an entry in one of IPL franchise as an all rounder.

I definitely did the right thing in the end, and there was definitely one big super partnership in the end, Campher and Dockrell saved their team and are still alive! Now if only they can keep this up, I think even when they only needed 1 from 7 balls people were still praying on the team lol

I felt WI sure will win this next one ongoing so ALL teams on 2 points, big 2 games on Friday to see who goes through, currently Zim don't look like they will pull it off, Alzarri is unleashing hell right now.

Ireland will be making their exit from the world cup, and it is almost confirmed that Scotland will sail through the Super-12 stage. Feels bad about Ireland. Ever since they got the test status, the quality of their game seems to have gone down.

You are missing the point here. Associate nations like Namibia, Scotland, Netherlands etc have improved a lot over time, but they still can't compete against big teams consistently. Better funding could help them in the long-term.

Scotland are still playing well at the moment. They are set to post a total close to 170 at this rate unless they collapse. Looks like Ireland are going to exit the tournament.
