Wow, how could I missed the Soton win yesterday ? They won against City and more than this , they gave city almost 0 chances because City had 0 shots on the goalie. I wonder how Pep felt about his team last night because they were not looking like Man.City at all and it has been like this for a while , as I don't remember City having a period like this for quite some years.  Grin

The last game where it happened goes back to 2018, when they failed to have a shot on target against Liverpool in the 3-0 loss in he CL.
That was 275 games ago, so it is another statistic that shows just how dominant that City team is, while also being extremely consistent.

They aren't playing well after the restart of the league - that has to be said though.

Couple of EFL Cup games tonight. Anybody thinking Saints can pull off a shock win against Pep’s all conquering City?
I have no idea how you even called it, but that happened! Southampton actually won, and City lost against the Saints. And this came in a period where Southampton has been worse than most years prior, they are tanked at the bottom and yet they somehow won.

I mean there were just a few players not playing from the starting position, but most of them got in eventually so it shouldn't really be a shock that City fans must be furious right now I wouldn't expect them to lose like this at all, I wouldn't expect them  to lose at all, possibly win the whole thing. In any case, it has happened already and anyone who was smart enough to wager on this must be super happy now.

I couldn't believe what I saw but Southampton manage to win easy with 3:0 result against Manchester City.
Man City did play with mixed squad but Saints also had some missing players, so now we have Southampton and Sportsbet in Semi-finals of EFL Carabao Cup!
Nottingham, Manchester United and Newcastle are three other teams in semi-finals, and final match will be in Wembley Stadium.
maybe you mean 2 - 0 and what we saw was Haaland's entry in the 56th minute. Despite changing the composition of the players, Man City still had difficulty dismantling Southampton's back line. In fact, Man City failed to record shots on target from the seven attempts that were released. This is an unusual thing. After the match, Pep Guardiola admitted that Man City was not at his best level. In fact, the manager did not deny that his concoction team did not deserve to win. City is not ready to serve Southampton

Well well well. I had a nice big bet on City at SB and that lost, but I dont' mind saying that was actually a hedge against a 14/1 bet on Saints elsewhere, which I did double down on a 7/1 to qualify, so I'm happy with the result.

It's always profitable to bet against City.

There is also a small matter of a $10 freebet on any Arsenal/Southampton $50 bet with min 1.5 odds on SB so I'm still going to get a bit of joy from that hopefully.

Nice to know Pep won't be enjoying another free pass on EFL trophy, amazing Saints performance today!

Man i never see City playing this bad, horrendous performance by all the team and players. Seems like they have a hangover.

Saints played perfectly. But i hope this continuos because i see saint making this several times, winning again the bigs and lose against any others teams.

For me was a shit night i lose all my bets thanks to city.....

How you can meassure how bad City played this game? Easy look at the shot on target and corners in the second half being 2-0 below.

0 corners
0 shots on target IN ALL THE GAME.

Steve, amazing promo and watching with Kanu? Damn. If I were a Gooner...

Interesting fact, unfortunately heavily influenced by the fact Arsenal was much better team troughout the history. Last couple of years it was the other way around but I don't remember if they played then.

Great game, and I am expecting some mouth watering football in it.

By the way Saka got injured in their last cup game. He walked off the pitch so hopefully nothing serious.

Yeah, they've not ever won against City in the league but Pep has already lost twice to Arsenal in FA Cup, both semis -- to different managers (Wenger and Arteta). City just haven't found a way to master KO competitions (does league cup count, nah).

Didn't know about Saka injury, would be a shame if that disrupted his current hot streak.  Def agree with you you never (as a manager) risk someone like that and it's actually their job to protect these assets. Treasures I would even say in Saka's case. Klopp's very clear and I think Pep's the same, they would rather have players mad at them then risk them injured and you know there are always players who insist

He may be pro but you are not risking one of the best players in the club even if he has very minor injury. There is so much games to play and it is much better to just drop him for one or two games than to risk aggravating the injury further at this point of the season.

And they have some youngsters to cover for him even without Mudryk, just remember how good Nelson was when Saka was out last time.
Bukayo Saka should be given more time to rest even if he does not get any injury. Since 2020 - 2021 seasons, he has played many matches. 46, 43 and 24 matches for his club in 2020 - 2021, 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023 seasons respectively. These stats don't include his matches for England with 4, 10 and 10 matches in last 3 seasons.

Even he is so young, it can cause overload on Saka. Coaches of Arsenal and England should protect Saka as much as possible they can do. Many young players have their careers destroyed by high expectations, extreme overloads and serious injuries. Saka is important for Arsenal and England but he is replaceable.

I watch a lot of football & I don’t know anything about this Mudryk guy. He’s coming from a weak league & the fee being mentioned is obscene, he’s done close to nothing to justify it.

Arsenal are becoming a really good team now, they could do a lot better for that kind of transfer value. They should go for Kvaratskhelia from Napoli instead, he’d be great with Arteta coaching him.

I see him in the european tournaments and with the national team, if you ask me, i don t like him, his form of play its a good dribler but really bad finisher.
I know maybe he is still young and can improve but i see its a failure.
He takes a lot of bad decission when he plays.

And about the fee, what can i say, the last 5 years we see so much overspend in football, any player now its more expensive than the prime CR7......
i dont like this "new" market who any player cost more than 50 million only because he is young.

Arsenal does rotate a lot, but replacing Saka will be hard. He's a cornerstone of that team and can play multiple positions on a really high level.

Nelson has been good this season, but I don't really rate him. He was mediocre in a weak Netherlands league last year and I feel he won't live up to the hype.
I'd rather see them play with Vieira there - he looks like the superior player if you compare the two.

Saka is a pro, though. It will take more than a small injury to keep him out.

Good news for the Sportsbet partner: each time Gooners met Citizens in FA Cup for the past 100 years, they went on to win the final!

I would not really say that much. He did not really walk off the pitch as much as hobble off slowly. Good thing it was already in the 75th minute of the match and his injury did not cause Arsenal to lose the game. Areta said he was fine when he was questioned in the press interview after the game. Although if I am wrong (which I really hope that I am not), then I just hope they can close the deal with Mudryk as soon as possible (if they have not done so already).

Saka is a pro, though. It will take more than a small injury to keep him out.

Arsenal vs Manchester City in the FA Cup 4th round, mouthwatering clash, be nice to see if they can top our win vs City last year in the semifinal. I remember we ended HT with 3-0 but almost let them back in. Man, I miss Mane.

Oxford vs Arsenal tonight & sportsbet.io sponsored, PL leaders Arsenal take on Oxford in a proper old fashioned FA Cup tie. Arsenal will obviously go in as favourites but away from home with probably Arteta making a few changes, Oxford will be up for it. It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Oxford players.

What do you think guys?
as we can see now it was not a difficult opponent for arsenal to beat oxford with a score of 0 - 3 without reply and goals were scored in the second half by Elneny as well as Nketiah, but oxford took advantage of the opportunity to play well against arsenal by trying several shots at arsenal's goal
