Politicians and their idiotic rules.
I fully agree that underage people should not gamble. How about doing KYC during registration then?

I really don't understand what a move like this will accomplish. It just hurts legit companies that are offering legal services - because gambling is legal.

And since Bitcointalk is an independent forum, I don't understand how the rules should affect your ads here with the use of the teams, if the .io website isn't a business under the UK jurisidiction.
I guess it is better to be safe then sorry. Maybe there is possibility of some competitors reporting such adds and then some governing body pressuring the clubs to kill the deals.

And I hate that legal wording "Top flight footballers and footballers with a considerable following among under-18 on social media." Wtf that means, SB can't use Saka pictures cause teenege girls are following him but they can use Xhaka pictures cause he has majority of his following among older male population? Took those two as example, have no idea about actual stuff.

Hi All,

Many thanks for the comments and predictions!

Unfortunately, this announcement is not the usual sort of fun one, but more of an update on the UK government rulings that have meant a massive change in imagery rights for sports betting companies working with EPL teams..

We all know that the UK government has been reviewing the sports betting sponsorship on UK sporting teams for some time, and we have not been sure which way that was to go. Everything from leaving it, to completely removing it has been on the cards now for some time.

Official Release: (brief summary)

Committee for Advertising Practice (CAP) has announced today the introduction of tough new rules for gambling ads as part of our commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable audiences.
“be likely to be of strong appeal to children or young persons, especially by reflecting or being associated with youth culture.”

In practice, this will significantly restrict the imagery and references that gambling ads will be allowed to use and should decrease the potential for gambling ads to attract the attention of under-18 in audience.
For example, ads will not be able to use:
* Top flight footballers and footballers with a considerable following among under-18 on social media.

What does this mean for us and Bitcointalk?
We just can't use Southampton or Arsenal pics anymore. No players, No Emblems, No pics of Stadiums.. probably best to steer away from anything EPL graphic related for now TBH..

I wanted to do this as a joint post in our main thread here as we have such a great bunch of like-minded customers, users, fans, and decent blokes, who love doing independent promo threads (games and rounds!) to have fun, interact and generally have fun!

All of us at Sportsbet.io want those threads to continue!   Cool Cool

So please keep running with them, please keep hassling me on PM/DM on thoughts and suggestions for new threads!

I just need to be a bit careful on the Southampton & Arsenal graphics stuff we use moving forward.... nothing stressful, just something to keep in mind!

regards,

Steve.

Updated Lads,

I just needed to check with the partnerships team if it meant we had to retrospectively remove old graphics.. it seems not to be the case.. but we start a new slate from now!

cheers all again for the support, very appreciated!

That's a tough one indeed for Sportbets and Bitcoin too given the exposure has actually gotten from these ads, but I'm however having a couple of concern, form my belief I suppose the UK version of the website and the general one already have some signifcance differences ? maybe in terms of M.O, TOS, Policies and whatnot ? If yes does the general website also have to subjected to these terms ?

Secondly, what would be its effect on the current shirts sponsorship deals with Southampton, as well as the official betting platform partnership deal with Arsenal, having it's logo portrayed on Arsenal's Emirate stadium, will all these advertisements also get affected ?

And since Bitcointalk is an independent forum, I don't understand how the rules should affect your ads here with the use of the teams, if the .io website isn't a business under the UK jurisidiction.

Any good bets for today in Nations League or you all all waiting for weekend matches in Premier League and other big leagues?
I am little worried that some players for top clubs will be more tired that could affect their club performance.
I only did one bet, it was a YOLO bet for me, I didn't have much balance left and possibly only can make deposit next month (too much casino activities in other places like Livecasino lol) but I'm glad Spain took the game and the last spot for quarterfinals Smiley

That's always the worry for all clubs, but I think some players themselves prefer to be tired and to play every single game. Caps!
That's not a bad bet neither, definitely a good return, can't believe that Spain got such high odds against Portugal but understandable. In the end you should give breaks if you are gambling way too much, I always give breaks until end of month when I am out instead of redepositing, because that means I would be able to limit my loss amount and that way I can go on for a lot longer.

I haven't lost over a thousand dollars in gambling for a year in the past 5 years, which means every year my losses are always under that level, and even though the total loss is greater because sometimes I win big and then lose it, that doesn't come out of my pocket.

So let me know if i understand bad, you can still sponsoring the teams and the majority of people can see the publicity via TV in the match but you cant use the image for making content?.

If this its correct i have to say this its a mega nonsense and pure 21 century thing. If they are so concerned about that cut off the string and block all.

Or im misunderstanding?

I am in bad form at the moment, losing all three of my bets on Sportsbet but I was playing risky matches and higher odds.

Can anyone guess what is this Special Announcement from Sportsbet?  Maybe something to do with upcoming World Cup or new partnership deal Smiley

Cool, I’m excited to see what this is. If I had to guess, a new football team sponsorship or even tickets to the World Cup in Qatar for somebody who gets lucky on the forum?

Intrigued….
I dont think either of them possible because recently  made one promo for quatar travel and already has partenership with two footy giants ...

T20 world cup is almost upon us and I can't wait to bet. I still remember making my first ever cricket bet and it was on sportsbet.io and with time the betting markets have only increased on sportsbet. I wonder if they will be adding special markets as always like who will make the most hundreds and who takes the most wickets.

Any other cricket fans here for sharing their preparation on betting on upcoming exciting cricket's shorter format's biggest tournament? Tongue.
Australia in Icc events are always giants and at their home soil its hard to stop them..looks like asian teams will find tough.
Hope t20 multimaster promo will come to test our luck and knowledge.

I stand with Ukraine.
Unbelievable! Just several days ago I said in in this post that I will be doing multibets with 80-90 odds to test a pattern of betting(read the post if you want details). I knew it wasn't going to happen on the first try, so I was ready to do dozens of attempts, but look what happened on my third try:

Nice one! Surprised I actually recognised 2 teams in there. As darxiaomi asks, I gotta know: was this genius or stab in the dark? Haha

You're not tempting me to follow up my awful bet from a few days ago (dead on the first leg courtesy Lazio) though! Nations League is guess league... but hope you share a 100/1 win!

Meanwhile, go Scotland?

First off, thanks for your congratulations and kind words, @darxiaomi, @buwaytress, @LFC_Bitcoin, @Unsoldier, @Juggy777! It was, by far, the highest multiplier I won with doing sports betting. So, it was kinda a milestone for me. Thank you, guys, and good luck!

As for "was this genius or stab in the dark", I'd say it was somewhere in the middle. To be honest, I don't  follow Argentina second division, nor do I know much about the other teams I was betting on. I'm testing a pattern of betting where you place bets with the odds somewhere in between 1.6 and 2.2, and place the bet when the odds are already around 100.00.

A terrific match was played between Germany and England, but the English team's first victory in the elite division was not.  Although the tournament value of this match for both teams was not.  A draw, but a goal game.  Now we are waiting for the semifinals of the Nations League.

England - Germany matches have always been highly watchable being independent from the points table in a tournament. Harry Maguire had the leading role in two of Germany's goals. While the supporters were silent and maybe even preparing to protest, things changed suddenly after Shaw's goal. And England managed to get 3-2 ahead in a short time. But this time Germans equalized the score because of the goalkeeper Pope's fault and teams left the field by a 3-3 draw. I think that England sent a message to their opponents before going to Qatar that they could also win the championship.

It’s been a quite embarrassing run of results for Southgate’s England. It doesn’t get much easier tonight as they take on their fiercest, oldest rivals Ze Germans.

No luck for with this bet, Havertz ruined your plans with goal only few minutes before end, and England is now six matches without a win.
I was sure both teams will score and match will have over 2.5 goals but I don't dare betting on final result for matches like this.
All this will mean nothing if they somehow manage to have good result in Qatar World Cup, and they have better odds than Germany:

The upcoming match will not solve England's problems. But that is what makes England dangerous for Germany. I think the English will be able to beat the Germans with a minimum score. The match will end 0-1 in favour of Southgate's team. England are looking to rehabilitate themselves in the eyes of their fans.

I think England has to be grateful, because Germany also comes with not a good shape, can you think how bad England team can pass if Germany was in his prime?

Anyways England the next year go to B league. I aws seeing the relegations and the new teams in the A league and i thing the next Nation League we have a downgrade in A league in terms of names.

Both of these teams have something to prove and I am expecting a good game tonight. Both to score should pass easy, even if England did not score a single goal from open play in 5 games. They have to stop that tradition and Germany that isn't fighting for any points could try and play attacking football. Have no idea who is gonna win but goals and entertaining match should be guaranteed.
