@Steve
I'm not sure if this was suggested or asked for but can we get a market for VAR, let's say for Premier League matches?
I have honestly never seen that anywhere, but it would be interesting to try. The odds in favor of VAR reviews wouldn't be that high I think.
Another thing is what would be considered a VAR review. A review can take place in the background without the referee actually going to the monitors to check himself. Would that also be considered for the bet or only when the referee checks the footage himself? What if the VAR referee makes the decision, cancels, or awards a penalty/goal/red card without the intervention of the main ref?
You can regulate it. Let's call all those cases when VAR activates in background "silent VAR" and those when main referee is called to judge the situation "ref VAR". There is much more silent VAR cases and every ref VAR case is immediately a silent VAR case as well.
There is an official record of VAR usage for every game and let's say it is usually around 2-5 times per game. You can then offer standard handicap spreads for silent VAR usage.
over 3.5 @1.9 under 3.5 @1.9 basic handi
over 2.5 @1.55 under 2.5 @2.4
over 4.5 @2.4 under 4.5 @1.55
In addition to that you can offer another market called ref VAR, and let's say that it is happening every second game per stats.
Then you offer market will there be ref VAR in the game, and change the odds a bit depending on the clubs:
yes @1.9
no @1.9
I would probably try my luck on such markets.
If I know sportsbetting, there will be even "how many players will be injured by the season end" type of bets as well. Hell one day we could even have "how many times player breathed in and out" as well. Gambling is getting to a level where each sportsbook that offers more gets more users while the ones that got stuck with money line or maybe few more are getting less and less.
This is why I think it is quite important to suggest these type of things but we will not have them today, there are things that will take some time VAR is actually quite new compared to all others, hell even corner numbers are considered new in betting, so VAR should take some time, but eventually we are going to have all kinds of VAR related bets for sure. So far it is usually about VAR changing the result when live betting, so it could be a lot more in the future but we gotta wait.
