But oh, I've never bet against Liverpool too. It's psychological. I guess most people are like that?
I do bet against my favourite team, but it has to be a very valuable bet - just a bit of value won't make me do that. It's kind of strange feeling to have your heart split in two while watching. On the one hand, you don't want your team to lose, but otoh you would like to make some money.
I know people that would never bet against their team like you, but I also know people that always bet against their team. They hope for losing that bet then, because it would mean a win of their team. If their team doesn't win, they will be a bit sad, but have some more money in their pocket as consolation prize for the teams loss. So, whatever the outcome, there is something to cheer about.
In general, you should bet, when there is value, but not always easy when feelings are involved.
I do have that feeling of "it's ok if my bet loses, it's good for my team" but yeah, can't ever bet against my team, EXCEPT when it's like really value odds of, for example, scoring under 2 when they've been scoring an average of 3. You're absolutely right we shouldn't be betting emotionally but that's always going to be my problem!
Which is part of the reason why I seldom make big money bets involving my own team. Almost always the beer moneh!
Now, if someone told me I could win $1 million with just $1 bet against Liverpool winning the league, I'm not sure I wouldn't take the bet. The unreasonable fear of karmaic justice is strong with me =)
@cryptofrka: Still, a lovely story and that goal WOULD have stood were it not at Anfield! Live and tell the story;)
@Bitcoin_Arena. If you bet 1 BTC and winnings on every Premier League game (compounding the profit), you'd actually STILL be sloshing in wealth after losing everything in the United draw. And now, thanks to me betting on almost every Liverpool game, I can check back for the odds. For the games I didn't bet on, let's assume a tiny 10/1 odds.
After the Old Trafford game it was Liverpool vs:
1.
Spurs @1.55
2.
Villa @1.39
3.
Man City @2.93 (such value bet that won me a fat parlay!)
4.
Palace @1.47
5. Brighton no odds so let's say 1.10
6. Everton no odds so let's say 1.10
7.
Bournemouth @1.45
8.
Watford @1.50
9.
Leicester @2.22
10.
Wolves I only have HT odds at 1.8, let's say FT at 1.45?
11.
Sheffield also HT 1.77 so let's say FT 1.4
12.
Spurs @1.71
13.
United @1.58
14.
Wolves @1.68
15.
West Ham @1.34
16.
Southampton @1.3
So if you bet 1 BTC individually on these games, you'd be 9.17 BTC in profit.
If you compounded that 1 BTC, you'd be 870++ BTC in profit.
I know. I wasted 15 mins of my life fantasising.
