Rest of you let me know and consider it done.
i've been a fan since the early 00's of the greatest club of all time, house of legends like Casillas, C.Ronaldo, Puskas, Zidane, and that's never gonna change  Cool  boy what a win that was from yesterday, whew! Sergio 'panenka' Ramos  =)

Fav. club in Spain - Rayo Vallecano  Cool
well hello there fellow madrid neighbour

I can't stand Messi. Not football-wise, but personality-wise.
lately, he's been extremely toxic for Barca...from throwing his teammates under the bus last season cos of "allegedlly" lack of attitude and whatnot, to throwing shades to the board 24/7 since the start of this season...he shoulda been more vocal right after 8arce2ona's biggest defeat in its history, but instead, he went awol and then he came outta nowhere wanting to jump ship, not exactly the behaviour you expect from the captain of the team :/

anyways, are we going to see Suarez playing for Atletico today? i think we are, and i'm gonna back atletico in a single bet, better team than Granada, better manager, H2H favors atletico, easy peasy?

All good, some of us can't stand Messi or Ronaldo, but my Barca love affair actually started before Messi exploded, and my dislike for Real was by proxy natural, even before Ronaldo also.

I like Messi as a person, and I think Ronaldo does look so silly standing on his toes or flexing his thigh muscles when doing group photos, but as a person I think he is also good like Messi and they both like the small guy so I respect them both in this way. Who cares what we think about them right though?Wink

Anyway I drop to 6/13 damn. People will say it serves me right for going against the fan picks.

Still looks a bit messy for me Huh

Wooh! That was unexpected! Can I ask why so much hate for Barca? Cheesy

Hehe, hate is a too strong word. I don't hate any football team (nor person), I just dislike them. This whole "mes que un club", we are the nice guys, we don't need any jersey sponsor but Unicef can have it etc. is a bit fake to me. I don't like teams/athletes that have a general dominance over ages in their sports - just bores me.
Barca is liked by gaziliions of people and I tend to dislike these teams that are liked by so many; strange I know Cheesy Smaller clubs and underdogs are more interesting to me, I maybe like the struggle and adversity they face on a regular basis. The only dominator in sports I was fan of, was M. Schumacher in F1 back in the days. All other teams/athletes I root for are rather mediocre, with some success here and there, which is very sweet then when it happens^^
And last but not at least: I can't stand Messi. Not football-wise, but personality-wise. And I am not in the CR7 camp Wink

By the way, @Trofo would it be nice if we include the favorites of every pool participant in the OP? I would love to know which team does the other participants support.
Sure, I will just add them to the table in the OP as a third column. Of course a lot of participants have to let us know their favorite club. This is what I have from the Spanish thread where only a handful of us went public Smiley

Perfect! I am supporting Barcelona since 2010 and will continue to do so. You can add 'FC Barcelona' next to my name.

Rest of you let me know and consider it done. You can either PM me or just put it in the next post here in the topic.
I don't have a favourite team, only an anti-favourite team, which would be Barca Grin If you do the same for the ITA thread, put Hellas Verona in for me Smiley

Although I am Barca fan, I love to watch Real games as well. I like Ramos more than Pique. In India, live LaLiga matches are only streamed on Facebook and it is always fun to watch Real games reading Barca vs Real fans fighting in comment section.  Grin

Edit: It does not, let me check Grin
Edit2: I made it BTT name, lets see, if this works. If not, you can use this table (maybe change the colours, if you like):

It was BCT name in the beginning and then I changed it to bitcointalk because I wanted some extra space between first and second column and then forum started to play tricks with me. Thanks for the effort, I will try to implement your second solution into my table and if that doesn't work I'll just use yours.

Edit 2: need a little help with that table, why does Bitcointalk name gets split in 2 rows? When I click preview it looks fine but when I post that gets screwed

Because no username is long enough I guess, adding some spaces does the trick:

Barcelona is no longer invincible at Camp Nou. Osasuna beat them in the penultimate matchday last season, the same day Barca lost the league after horrendous error from Bussi. Puig who was the best midfielder of Barcelona against Alaves in the last LaLiga game of the previous season is no longer in the picture. He was sidelined in Champions League by Setien which is understandable due to his acute experience but I was sure he will be starter in Koeman's Laliga Starting XI this season. But it turns out Koeman is more conservative coach than Setien and doesn't even want Puig in the squad, let alone a starter.

Sadly I have to agree here but that was last season. Today is the new season and tomorrow we play our first game. All is a mystery now and will be revealed;)

You just need to put your picks into "lock your picks" in Superbru and you will see all the picks people made. Or do you mean which team you actually support as well? In which case, I'm Barca:)

Trofo - occasional Barcelona supporter but mainly likes to see good match with lots of goals
LTU_btc - hardcore Barca fan. Visca Catalunya! Visca Barca!
Harkorede - I'm rooting for Barcelona
tokeweed - Real...  Just cos I like Hazard

This season I am rooting for Sevilla, I like the way they play and my man Rakitic just joined them. It seems they managed to keep most of team intact and I think they will be top 4 this season for sure and probably even higher.

It's Real I'm expecting to drop points. They haven't scored more than 2 goals for 10 games consecutively now, and I do recall a teeter totter last season early on. Maybe time to bank on some good value bets on both Barca and Real?
I was thinking about that myself but decided to wait a bit more. It is still early days and there is no telling how Real will look. I know if I bet against them they will have a penalty in 89th minute and Ramos will score it Smiley

Barca is even more of a mystery but I will never play against Barca on Camp Nou but away games are whole different story. Barca was always good at home no matter the team but they often had trouble away so I will try to cash on that.

Yeah, so far English Italian German leagues, no stumbling for the big boys much (sorry United, you're not a big boy anymore) unlike in Ligue 1, but you're probably wise to wait. I did get quite a lot last season from Real on Ramos penalties I won't forget! And the same way for me Barca once the odds get above 1.6 or so at home, which is what I have a few parlays waiting to clear right now, always good value for me,

Anyway, I made 1 draw selection, really need to improve my 10/13 position!

Two days left for the first game of the season and Barca hasn't sign any defender. The team only got Roberto at the name of Right Back. Suarez shipped, Vidal shipped, Semedo shipped, Rakitic shipped but signed nobody. Being Barca fan, I have no idea how we gonna perform this season, what to expect from the team. I am no longer sure if we could even make to the CL spot this season. But let's hope for the best. My pick for Barca vs Villarreal game is 3-1 which I entirely made out of emotional connection to Barca. But apart from this game, I was pretty comfortable making picks for rest of the games. I think I will be among Top 3 in this round as well.

Bump! time for the Round 3 picks!

Finally, all the teams are back from the break. I'm expecting the main favorites to win this weekend, except for Barcelona, I think that if there's a time for Villareal to get some points at the Camp Nou, it's now, when the catalan club is surrounded by pure chaos and a toxic atmosphere

Well I hope you're wrong, I have some pretty decent parlays all cleared now and waiting a week for Barcelona to win. I could cash out of course, but I have a bad, bad problem with cashout (I never see the point haha).

Oops I dropped to 5th spot after last night;)

Hahay is still top, the Spanish bastardo but not bad for LTU for making last night's draw happen. I'm personally hoping Real stumble so this is a good result for me pending Barca's first match, although I do seem to recall Real also having a shitty start last season, so nothing can be said about this so far.

La Liga isn't getting much attention while big clubs aren't playing yet. And schedule looks very strange so far. I don't get why Real will play on Sunday, while, Barca, Atletico, Sevilla, Getafe and Elche will miss this round.
I'm a bit surprised that only @webtricks backed Celta against Valencia tonight. IMO, there is only big name left from Valencia and nothing more. Yeah, they won first game, but didn't played well and today they were outplayed by Celta. I expect to see Valencia somewhere in the middle of table or even near to relegation zone.
Villarreal looks a bit disappointing so far, considering squad that they have. Draw against Huesca nad difficult win against Eibar isn't something impressive. But it's just start of season, so it's nothing surprising that teams aren't showing best what they can.

I was thinking of adding one more paid spots but felt like this structure is better, if you would like to see another paid spot (lower rewards for the rest) then now is the time to speak up. If you have some other ideas feel free to share. In case we get another sign up I am adding a prize for 4th place for sure.

After game week 4 I will add prizes to the OP and then there will be no changes. What you guys want to do in case La Liga gets canceled (Corona or some other shit)? I propose we pay out the rewards if more than half season gets played and return the entry fee in case it does not.

Perfect structure, no change needed. 3 paid spots are perfect considering 13 participants. 4 will be too much.

As of cancellation, I don't think there's much possibility of that so don't worry. We will discuss more about that if we cross that path.

Round 1 was awful for me, both here as well in PL pool. I tried to be over ambitious and it backfired. Hahay had a superb week! 11.5 points in just 7 matches, not bad man!

But this week I had been cautious in making the picks. I think I will grab 10+ points in round 2. I used my prior La Liga experience to analyse before picking. Just for a fact, I was surprised no one else picked win for Celta De Vigo. Celta is tough team to beat at home, even Barca only managed 1 points in June after dominating the whole game. On the contrary, Valencia away from home is awful. If my memory is right then Valencia has failed to win any away La Liga game in 2020!

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid will postpone their matches for this weekend, and from all the other matches in this round, maybe the most interesting will be in Sociedad, between two royal clubs, home one and Madrid

Sociedad is always a tough ground for Madrid, but they have a lot of injured players at the moment, and two in quarantine, so do think that Real could start well there, and win the match, @1.72 is not a bad quote on them, will put them on my "whole weekend" ticket

Villareal is playing with Eibar and they could make their first win this season, after having just 1:1 in first home match with Huesca, but quote value is not that good @1.57

I guess the problem is not a lack of fans but a lack of crypto users who are also interested in La Liga?

It's a lack of users posting in the gambling sections that do actually place bets or are even interested in football/sports in general Wink Most people just post here, because they are forced to by their signature campaign requirements. In most threads you only find general discussions about a league or sport, but rarely specific bets, let alone proper analysis, it's just bla bla most of the time. My guess is, that only 5% of people posting in gambling boards do in fact place some bets from time to time (or play Casino, Poker etc.).

EPL is quite big here, because it's the biggest league. There are quite a lot people from UK here and sportsbetting has a long tradition there. Spain isn't a country, where sportsbetting is that popular and as pointed out earlier here, lots of spaniards struggle with english.

And then the entry fee is too high for lots of people as well.

This one I can agree 100% with. The huge EPL thread used to have a few names that I added to my ignore list because they were simply commenting by copypasting news from places, even on matches that played days ago. I think the gambling signature campaign managers have to at least make sure their posters are real gamblers, I mean, since most of them want to post in gambling section.

So let's have a think about how to make this pool more enticing in future, from now on I will try to mention it as much as I can. Entry fee is high for us in Asia (if my friends knew I put 1 mbtc on a bet even they would say I'm a big roller because that will buy 2 people a whole week of meals!), but we have to put up with it, I'm sure in Europe or Spain it isn't AS expensive!
