I would not be surprise if Atletico Madrid should end up winning the league, I would have tipped Real Sociedad too, but their consistency when we reach the second half of the season. However, If Atletico are able to keep leading with Barca and Real in double by the half of the season, I'll bet on them to go all the way!

I agree for La Liga, it is difficult to to get back to the top after loosing so many points.

I don't agree for CL though. It is whole different kind of tournament and there is no telling how Real or Barca will look come spring when it is important. I am even toying with the idea to put some money on Real to win CL. If they get out of the group they could be super dangerous. Maybe one or two transfers in winter window + some players like Hazard getting back to top form and they will be whole different kind of beast. Then add the fact that CL has been their playground in last couple of years.

^ Good win. And personally, just happy to see Iago Aspas thrive. That guys, just like Danny Ings and others, have all done their best for Liverpool and them doing so well elsewhere is just proof they were always talented people.

I actually got it wrong there, but at least Levante's now 2 goals up. If Getafe pull 1 back I get 3 points, though, haha. Not so good with the betting =p

@Trofo - good job, I thought that my 19 points is good enough for a best yellow cap, but week after week there is someone with 16+, which cannot be said for Premier league, or Calcio pools, is it La liga easiest to predict?

I guess it's not just me having a bad time then. Every league is feeling the effects of good old pandemic it seems, and the smaller teams are probably enjoying it the most with the least numbers of players also committing to Europe competition and international breaks. I really hope all leagues start doing something about player welfare. I love football but surely this is part of the effects of every team playing too many games?

Or do we just suck;)

Woohoo my first yellow cap, this week my strategy of picking 1:1 when I don't have a favorite or feeling for goals paid of with 4 exact scores. Very happy with total points considering lots of strange results.

i should've checked this thread earlier, Betis lost and they screw me over in a free bet. I didn't know they had a such a bad record, at least Eibar were getting a few draws prior to the match tonight

I'm backing Betis tonight. Their squad is significantly better and bad period should end sooner or later. On the other hand, Eibar achieved all their wins this season playing away.

Did not watch it unfortunately but very glad that Barca had a performance like this. They did not forget how to play and they will have performances like this on good a good day. I am a bit afraid what happens on a bad day. This team looks quite bad when things are not going in the desired direction and it has been like that for quite some time now.

Messi is arguably the best player in the world but he is lacking that quality to yell a bit on the team and energize them all to give their utmost best on the field. I can't imagine someone like let's Roy Keane to lower his head and stop running/playing after getting a couple of goals down.

Griezmann was magically good today! It finally appeared that two of the 'Ballon d'Or Final 3' are playing together. Well, what can we say about Messi - his first game of the season as Messi. You couldn't have said it better, even as a Barca fan, I had to switch through those highlights several times. It's so different when the mentality of the team is like this, you see people enjoying the game instead of looking worried. You see people laughing instead of proving a point. I really hope Koeman sees this, enjoys it, and take more risks and more adventure because we need to return our hearts to the football in Barca before we think about getting points.

This is a golden opportunity for a team like Sevilla, Villareal or even Real Sociedad to take La Liga. I don't remember when both Real and Barca were this bad and Atletico Madrid is nothing special as well. I am hoping for surprise champion this season.

Definitely would love to see Sociedad take the crown this season. They've been hitting good value bets almost every game I pick them either for La Liga or Europa, almost around 2/1 so I'd like for them to continue their streak for a little more.

Definitely the worst season for both the big boys in my living memory too -- and the fact that their wage bill dwarfs most of La Liga makes it even more painful I imagine for a fan.
