I logged in Superbru and saw my rank 29/61. Until the pool page loads I was calculating what are the possible things that can go wrong to drag me from Top 15 to 29 LOL. Then realized it's only for this round. Superbru is slow.

Back to football.
Arsenal deserve three points here and I really hope they will get it. Still about 10 minutes to go.
They found it at the last minute.

Arsenal are beauty to watch. When I switched on the tele they were 2 - 0 down and then it's all history. It's not going to be easy for City. In fact, the possibility for the tittle for Arsenal is higher than City now.

Watching Arsenal lord over Bournemouth and I can't believe they are not already in the lead. To make it worse, Bournemouth players are playing handball in their box and still no penalty for Arsenal. Granted there were a couple of them that were accidental but at least this last one on the goal line should have been a penalty.

Speaking of Bobby, I read he isn't renewing his contract. I will miss him, even more than Mane...

Personally, if I were Bobby, I wouldn't sign a contract extension to play as a backup to an ordinary BUM like Darwin who, despite his poor performance, is consistently selected.

If so, does Todd Boehley know about it? I've always admired Bobby, and he would play a perfect false nine better than Kai Hevezt, so why haven't we linked with him yet?

Got exact scoreline for City game...... good way to start

As expected, City dominated and won comfortably. Newcastle is now without a win in their last 5 league games.

Liverpool's now only 2 points behind them, and only 3 behind Tottenham if we win our game in hand. Tomorrow's game will be huge, I'm already nervous.

Newcastle! Did they have to go behind so soon?

They did and in fact Manchester City dominated the game completely so far by creating far more dangerous chances than Newcastle did.Newcastle aim their games at their strong defense but the fact that they conceded early just complicated their game completely and with a Manchester City like the one I saw on the first half I find very very difficult for Newcastle to come back, they will only come back if Manchester City screws it up in a really big way.If they win they will be 2 points behind Arsenal and all the pressure will be on Arsenal, who luckily have a very easy game against Bournemouth this afternoon.

Yeah, TAA will stop Rashford Smiley Even TAA in the best form against Rashford in a poor form would be problematic and Rashford is playing in the form of his life. It is just the way Trent plays with leaving heaps of space behind his back.

That being said, Liverpool improved somewhat defensively and kept 4 clean sheets in a row, don't think they will manage the same tomorrow but maybe they have the chance now while I would have put a house on United winning a couple of weeks ago.

Which is why I can't find it in myself to blame TAA for anything. Yes, he gives goals away, but his contribution up front more than compensates. The blame has to fall on the CBs. Gomez especially this season, even VVD (the former I really really liked in seasons past). Midfield of course is our biggest weakness because they are supposed to be what gives the license to TAA/Robbo.

The entire issue with Liverpool squad has always been that the team's sum is always greater... 11 players playing to a capacity of 13. But you take away one piece and it falls apart. We knew this and had this problem even 3 years ago... before every piece came back again and we went on a streak that continued until our quadruple challenge.

I mean, Klopp turned me into a believer after all. So, I've got to stick with the optimism at least. However, despite my rather sarcastic tone in that initial post; I actually think we might pull it off. I don't expect to run over them, and smash the goals in, but I do think we'll surprise a lot of people. The signs are there, Liverpool have definitely been making progress recently. I don't like our defensive fragility at the moment, but our attack is looking decent.

Also, I love Nunez I doubted him initially, but even when he doesn't score I just love the way he plays. It brings the chaos, and I absolutely love that sort of style. Reminds me a little of Suarez.

Yeah, Klopp's banked a lot of points with me and so much goodwill and faith that I will probably be one of those who'll sink with him if it ever gets to that (and I don't think it will). I'm not even a local, but he had/has a way of putting his mark on things. Even the few match programmes I did read, particularly during our darkest days, you won't find a replacement for that.

Nunez, man. I said it too many times. I see him the way I see Firmino, not at all bothered that he isn't banging in the goals, just the way he plays is a joy. Absolute chaos as you say, and like Suarez, he didn't hit the ground running with goals and assists, but the chances he creates on/off ball, and the way he just wants to try every chance he gets? That will eventually translate into goals.

Speaking of Bobby, I read he isn't renewing his contract. I will miss him, even more than Mane...

We now have the opening match of this round in play between Newcastle and City. Meanwhile, Manchester City has been boosted by the return of Kevin De Bruyne from injury, and the Belgian playmaker will look to make an impact against Newcastle.
All I know is if the Belgian is in the mood to play then city will certainly win but they need to approach the game with caution, Newcastle can be a nuisance at times  Roll Eyes

The Citizens have won the last four meetings between the two teams.
^^
My pool prediction was 1:2 in favor of home
The Citizens should have the advantage thanks to the 12th player on the pitch but football at times can be won without the fans and this is one of those games because of the history behind the game..

Btw, looking at your prediction don't you think this game has more goals than we expect.. Looked at the head to head at minimum at least 4 goals in this match should be expected...
Inplay prediction Man City 3-1 Newcastle

Amen! We nullify Rashford because TAA has an axe to grind with his defensive reputation and will do everything to run Rashford dry. Nunez finally has his bad luck hoard spill over into a goal fest, courtesy Salah and Robbo assists. Alisson will be up for it, and Bobby turns up with a goal to remind people he's still silk.

I am just thankful for the points, the Top 10 is going away from me lol
Top 10 for me like

But I am still hopeful as the prize money will be for top 20 😉

We are in the same pot. 8 rounds ago i was first now i am 27th in the pool so this is painfully for me. I think there is no comeback for me in this pool this year. Hopefully i make some good results in next couple of rounds so i can at least try and get some rewards this year

Damn Joca, I completely forgot that, I do remember seeing you in first spot actually, but I've been middle for most season and slowly breaking into Top 10 but now again finding it very difficult.

It's really really hard to be consistent, especially when you know the odds and expert opinions have to favor the stronger team but FORM is so important too.

12 more rounds though so lots to fight for Smiley
12 more rounds means roughly 120 more matches. All you need is the consistency. When I do my picks I do not expect much but I expect the round does not end worse. 8 to 10 points that what I target. But thing does not work like you plan. Sometimes you get extremely lucky and knock a very good round or few. But when luck is bad then one or two bad round takes you down. Key is not to miss your pick in any round.

Good thing which I noticed other day, only being in the top 20 is giving you something.

@Joca97, 27 is not end of it. Still few good rounds can bring you in top 20. For me I just hope I do not do worse in any of the coming round. If I even can make it to top 10, I am happy.

Even though I bet on Liverpool's last game and it did, I don't have any optimism about this team. In the first half, the wolves completely controlled the entire attacking potential of Liverpool and they literally had no chance. In the second half, Liverpool managed to win but I would not say that they were confident and that if they played with a stronger team, the result would have been the same. I think that when betting on Liverpool, you can fall into the same trap: so-so game, but good results -> confidence in the team grows -> then an unexpected defeat and a minus bet.

Yeah. Super trap. Avoid money on this team. I'm just there to show up, for better or for worse (for worse, is of course, the wisdom).

What are your feelings about this?
Liverpool surprise everyone, and wipe the floor with Manchester United, call me delusional if you want Tongue. I think Newcastle might be able to steal some points off Man City. Chelsea will likely struggle against Leeds, but I do think they'll end up winning this game. Arsenal probably finds is relatively easy against Bournemouth. Like I said, I expect Liverpool to at least challenge Man Utd now that we've got some of our players back, it might be too early to beat them convincingly like I suggested, but we should be able to show a little more quality now.

Hopefully, Liverpool can keep fit now, and actually move up that bloody table.

(visions of hollow victory laugh)

Newcastle will feel the heat and want to stay in UCL spots a bit longer, while City will be tinkered beyond recognition.

They just need to play like they did against Wolves,I watched the game live and enjoyed very much the 2nd half of the game.It was a total dominance of Liverpool in every aspect but what impressed me the most is that even with the passing of time Liverpool did not lose calm and kept going like a clockwork so after that by playing cool they managed to score two very speedy goals and the first one for me was the most beautiful of the game.If they manage to continue like this, pretty much it will be a sure thing to climb up some positions in that bloody table.

Indeed, Liverpool has been sleeping for a while this season, it is no longer a competitor for the league title, but it can advance in the ranking ladder to get the opportunity to participate in the European CL. While Manchester United have also found their usual form this season by being in the top three on the board. I don't think they will let the fierce competitor Liverpool beat them, the result of a draw will be more like a win for Liverpool Angry
Just made my picks for the next match day. I went for usual favourits for me this includes Man U over Liverpool even though we are playing in Anfield. But hopefully we at least draw against Utd to keep us in the race for the next CL. Still there are a lot of matches to play which is a big hope.

Do agree with Welsh: it's a good time to start putting on the cream on Liverpool, now that people forgot how good we can be. Bajcetic is incredible, I know he gives away attacks but we need that kind of forward-thinking midfield. I have to remind myself often I didn't rate his debut. It is definitely going to be a problem to replace Hendo. Thiago is a Fabinho. Need them fit and on form, but they need someone more reliable and energetic. Can't say we have a solution easy, so we may need to dig deep into Academy again... I feel like Fabinho if we can get him out of his funk, fully fit again, we'll be okay.

Man I still miss Gini.
