It was going pretty well for me, picking the Newcastle and then the Leeds wins, (though as I have observed before when picking the upset the result or even close isn't quite as attractive as just going for favourites and picking the right score).

Then of course I bombed against Palace AND City.

Two more goals for the Reds and I'll get 3 points but this match is tight, tight, tight!

Leeds won against Tottenham and Chelsea against City. These were some unexpected result but a fun fact is that City against Chelsea will also be the final of the Champions League this year so it will be interesting to see how it goes there, personally I believe it will go differently in the Champions final.

I managed to get points only from Crystal Palace today.
For me, the unexpected result in this round was the win for Newcastle and Leeds and even them winning by a 2 goal gap was a completely unpredictable result for me personally. On the CL final between City-Chelsea of course it will be different and it is quite possible for City to be very different and this I have alluded to before on a different thread. Regarding the PL prediction pool, to be honest to maintain a position in the top five is very difficult and I'm not sure I can stay in the top five until the end, because the closer to the end of the league the matches will be more difficult to predict.

The Champion league final!
I was thinking the same but then you have to understand that today City were not playing much seriously. They already had the tile title secured so saving the energy for CL final is what their goal is. I am sure we will see a different City in CL final.

Chelsea had a great go today and fortunately they were able to get the full three points and for them the top four is secure. After today's match I do not think they will slip against Arsenal, Leicester and Villa.

For me, it's the same and I am lucky that I had full three points from that match. Honesty speaking the rest of the matches ended with upset so far.

I mean, look at Leicester today haha. I of course want Liverpool to sneak in but we'll need to win every game left and need others above us to slip up. Chelsea will of course be expected to qualify naturally, but the final is their last chance saloon should their league campaign somehow fail.
End is going very well for Chelsea LOL
They just stole 1 - 2 win from City. I guess we have seen a demo of the final of CL?

For Chelsea being in the top four is much easier now. Liverpool's match is coming next and I hope we do not slip today.

@casper not necessarily. Spots 3 and 4 are very much up for grabs. West Ham could still make it, so can Liverpool. It will be much clearer after everyone has played 36 games but I believe it will be down to the final match day... Of course I say this with some clutching of straws but it is true that all the teams vying for third and fourth have had horrendous form, Chelsea maybe a bit better than the rest but everyone has been dropping points willy nilly.

what a bunch of suckah fans

Lol.  I’m sympathetic to their cause.  Football is like a religion for some families, like a tradition.  But at the end of the day what are they protesting really...  To get the owners to splurge on player transfers so they can win cups?  And being all cooped up cos of covid doesn’t help.

And I quit betting on football.  Another shock defeat with LCFC losing to Newcastle.  Wtf.  Is it because there are no fans?  I can’t find any other explanation.

It is the same. You get a max of 5 spots in Champs League but the 5th spot is only given to a team that won either the europa or Champs League itself, and did not finish in the top four. So yeah, if Chelsea somehow don't finish in the top four but win Champs League, they have to play next season. But no more than five teams.

so, basically, Premier league would have four spots in the end, since Chelsea will finish top4, at least IMO

on the other hand, I do prefer Chelsea over City to win CL, but that does not change anything in CL places, as you said it, so it is hard for Liverpool or Everton to join CL next season, and will be fight to join Europa league and not be forced to play in Europe Conference league, which will be for Eastern Europe to prove themselves, with some better teams from low-ranked Western European countries

Chelsea is almost certain in Champions league, and what happens with fifth spot, if Chelsea or City wins CL, did the Premier get fifth spot nevertheless, or just in case that Chelsea wins the CL, and finish outside from top4 in Premier league?
I think Premier League gets fifth spot in CL whoever wins, at least it was like that in the past. There is reserved space for the winner of CL and then each county gets their own allocation on top of that. But if United wins European League then they are getting 6th spot as well. We could have half of the Premier League in European cups next season.

It was Liverpool's win in 2005 Istanbul that set the precedent actually where the winner has to return to defend the next season.

Good luck gentlemen! I won't watch Leeds as am out.

Chances for Leicester to be in CL seems not much promising to me.

IMO, Leicester has better chances than West Ham, especially if Everton wins today in London
on the other hand, Tottenham and Liverpool should not be counted out, they could win all the games till the end (although not that expected at the moment)

Lolwut Newcastle are beating Leicester away 4-0 and there's still 20 minutes to go. Not watching it so no idea what's going on but I guess Newcastle are safe from relegation now. Leicester can't be throwing away points if they want to hold on to that Champions League spot. Only two people backed the away win.
It's actually 3 users who backed for Castle. LFC_Bitcoin, slaman29 and Sojourner. Sojourner has a tendency to pick upset if I am not wrong so I do not wonder what made him to pick Castle. All three got lucky at the end.

Chances for Leicester to be in CL seems not much promising to me.  I was doing a draft on this post and it seems Chelsea and West Ham chances are very high to be in CL. Liverpool is not going for the next CL for sure. It hurts by the way.

does anyone know what is happening at the manchester united field?

Long story short, fans were unsatisfied (mad) with the Glazers. Glazer family owns Manchester United but to put it simple, the fans believe that the Glazers have been milking Manchester United for years . Also the decision to join European Super League was most likely instructed by the Glazers to maximize their earning from Manchester United so this sparks another protest from the fans.

The game has been rescheduled for next week. I wonder if the fans will protest again. Something tells me Man U will have beefed up their security this time. Pretty embarrassing that they not only managed to walk into the ground and onto the pitch but some of them even got into the supposedly 'covid secure' dressing rooms.

tomahawk is within touching distance of being champion for this season. He’s led for so long & really deserves it if he gets across the finishing line.

Definitely deserves it for sure, but he only has a 14 point lead which can be the difference of a round really especially if someone has a shit week where you get next to zero points and someone else has a great one. In round 33 two weeks ago he only got 2.5 points whereas the winner of that round got 9. Do that twice and your lead is gone. It's a nice buffer to have though and comes in handy for those weeks you do poorly. There's going to be a lot of games/rounds crammed into this last month so who knows what's going to to happen. I'm looking forward to the last day of the season though when they play all the games at once. Hopefully I'm still in with a shot by then.

This season I had two things that always held me back.

1. Did not get many correct scores
2. Liverpool performed bad means most of my picks in favour of Liverpool were flop.

yeah, but in the end, you are top10 at the moment
two exact scores on Monday brought me to spot23, and it is first time that I am seeing the table with my name in upper half, one goal reached
now have to try to reach top20 till the end

yeah, fan bias is always there, in all pools that I am in, boogie teams are always my own fan club

I think this round was the closest I've ever been to winning the Yellow Cap, but I'm being beaten to it by Hoody Hoo.

I only had 5 of 9 right, but 4 of those were exact scores so that brings about my great round, If only the Liverpool vs Man Utd fixture had held (I think LFC would have surprised us), then maybe I would have won it.

Anyways, I made it up to 5th position but this shit is getting real by the day and it's still all up for grabs.
Wow! That's great. Just checked and you are basically at 5th. The prize is in todays rate $1000+ LOL
However, Stephencurry333, hahay and Conradicals are not far from you so make sure you do not give it up 😉

It not very easy task to stay in the race except you are tomahawk9 who has miles distance from others.

Disappointing performance from me on the pool.
I was experimenting on Arsenal match by picking Newcastle and in another match but both failed.

Nothing much to talk about Utd vs Liverpool match.

cryptofrka, Hoody Hoo, hilariousandco, cygan, TwitchySeal and some others are possibly waiting for me to have a very bad round to kick me out of top 10 LOL
