^  Funny how sports journos are mostly quiet about City’s run.  Aren’t they breaking the record for most consecutive wins or something?

Anyway, I’d like to see them win the CL.  I hope Pep doesn’t tweak with his strategy too much like what he did vs Lyon last year.  Lawl.

I think a lot of people have been sleeping on them including myself for some reason. I didn't realise they've only lost two games but at the same time I don't think they've been playing truly exceptional and maybe it's just because Liverpool have been doing so poorly people have been overlooking them.

@Trofo @hilarious: Leeds-Southampton definitely BTTS, I'm just wondering if it'll be a win or draw, as both might like to share points. Sportsbet has a correct score boost of 20% so I might throw something down on 1:1... though the likeliest score according to the odds is a 1:0 Leeds outcome...
Went as expected with VAR overruling penalty for Saints while it was still 0:0. It was soft and I can't bitch it was a mistake but those VAR calls always go against what I need from the game. #hateVAR

Did not watch the game but looking at the stats, Saints had a lot of chances to score at least one goal but it was not meant to be.

I watched the game. Southampton did deserve a goal and the scoreline tells a different story from what actually happened really. That penalty was a dive for sure though. From a couple of angles it looked like a penalty for sure so I'm glad VAR came good on this decision, but they didn't actually show the best angle on VAR which would have been a lot more helpful for the ref to make a decision.

Damn, next round has 17 games in it? Grin

Some tough ones to call but in general, one of the easiest ones for me in the last few months or so. Leicester win vs Arsenal seems like a great bet to take @~2.50 odds as well.

I think we could probably see a new high scorer in this round round, especially with 17 games.

City usually choke in the CL latter stages. Surely that’ll stop at some point though, they have too many good players to continue failing in the CL every season.
I am thinking Guardiola has learned the lesson and City will manage to avoid the choke this season. I sort of feel like he sometimes got into his own head and started tinkering with the squad too much in order to adapt to opposition. That is sort of smaller club mentality and I feel like he would have had better results in CL if he just opted to play his game and let the opponents think about adapting. Players sense that kind of insecurities and on those biggest stages every single detail could prove important.

At the moment they are looking like a slam dunk since all the other "big" clubs have their problems. Even Bayern is looking unstable when defending and all Spanish clubs could be out after this round. I am sorry I did not take that Sportsbet special City to win 4 titles @25. As it stands they almost have the league and CL should be theirs as well. If they miss something it will be one of the domestic cups because of "we will get this one easy and rest some players" mentality.

I think City is one of the strongest contenders for the Champions League now that they have already secured the Premier League. They completely dominated the game yesterday and won easily against Mgladbach.Their form is impressive at the moment and the trend is only for more upside quality from them.

^ Yeah toma's the Man City of our pool. Took them a brief time to get to the top and only extending their run of points and lead. I'm just going to try for more yellow caps now, either which way I go with strategy doesn't really seem to be working out.

Just a bit crazy to see teams like Liverpool and Southampton pick up so few points from this current stretch of games. Great for the Prem, except City is slowly remembering how to be a steamroller again.

It wasnt BTTS and Southampton continue their bad streak

Well done webtricks and hahay for getting the 2nd Yellow Cap in this pool. 13 rounds left for this season and Tomahawk9 still stands comfortably on top . Quick search in Superbru's leaderboard shows that Tomahawk9 has been sitting on top since the 5th round and hasnt step down yet for 21 rounds in a row. That kind of consistency of getting atleast average or above average points every round is an impressive feat  Smiley

This leaderboard is updated until 25th round

buwaytress, don’t worry, next season will be much better. I see lots of rival fans laughing at us but I don’t think any other team would cope with what we’ve had happen to us this season. It’s ok, we’ll be back!

Amen, and we still got plenty of games to keep on fighting. I just want the boys to play now as they were before. Happy, not stressed, and just pleased to be playing football and scoring again and well, just enjoying themselves. Hard to see them look so worried and stressed even during warmups.

I've never really been a English football fan always a neutral but I enjoy watching Liverpool (except when we play and when you beat us 4-0 it's a terrible memory I can't seem to forget). You have nice teams like Chelsea or City playing and even Arsenal sometimes if you catch them on a good day but Liverpool feel very English in their style and their team setup. Even though it's been french, german and spanish in identity at various times but the team as a neutral to watch is always something. You guys will do well, this is a black swan situation for you not of your own fault.

Did not watch the game but from the stats it seems like Brighton destroyed CP in second half. I was really surprised CP managed to get full 3 points yesterday since without Zaha they are usually just cannon fodder.

Leeds game tonight has to have goals in it right? I am thinking about taking both to score since they blanked last time around and I am expecting them to have much better performance tonight.

Stats show 16 shots from Brighton versus only 5 shots from Palace and with 25% possession, but many keeper saves. Covid season is hard to predict anything, but in any case football is about luck and this was the game full of it for Palace. How often has Benteke won 3 points for them:)

Crystal Palace ruined a big odds parlay I had yesterday and I had Brighton double chance. That completely destroyed my euphoria of a big win.It was not Brighton fault though as that shot in the 95 minute was great and I have no one except bad luck to blame. In terms of points this round is extremely bad for me so I am looking forward to the next.

Yeah, a bit of an upset here as only 4 people backed the away win. I thought Brighton should have been able to get this job done especially at home.

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe both teams to score and Leeds to win. It's another tricky game for me given both teams recent performances. I could see either a load of goals or maybe even a 0-0. Southampton drew against Chelsea last week but before that they lost their last 5 premier league games including the 9-0 drubbing to Man U.

There's still the Leeds game today and a correct result there can get me the round win but I'll probably not be this close to the yellow cap so soon again.

Looks like a lot of people are in the running for the yellow cap:

You'd need a minimum of an exact score to win it but if hahay gets a point from the outcome it's out of reach.

Damn! That was really a heart wrenching goal from Crystal Palace in the dying minutes, I was overly ecstatic about getting fully 3 points in the match, but I'd have to make do with another zero point fixtures... Those 3 points would have been really important to me as 75% of the pool have gone otherwise  Sad Sad

Same for me, I had 1-1 and was sitting on 14 points. With 3 points there I'd have 17 and would be clear on top because 2 of 3 players in front of me chose Brighton to win and hahay got the correct 2-1 result to go on top.

Klopp or whoever is already deciding on it, should forget this season and start forming a team for the next one. Some of the key players are very bad, it seems like they spent all their energy last season and now act like amateurs.
They still play under a lot of pressure, and it is all the more difficult because there are no satisfactory results, frustration is noticeable in them. They have to get rid of the resulting pressure and start enjoying the game again. Still, I guess, the manager knows better.
