Farewell LEO: o_e_l_e_o

I guess I didn't do too bad this week relatively speaking. Surprised Arsenal comfortably beat Man United but United are playing so inconsistent lately I guess you can't expect anything from them. Only 20% of us backed the home win and surprisingly 54% went for the United win.  I didn't think there was much between either team and they would probably cancel each other out hence why I went for the draw again.
In this round I really did not get what I was expected. In few matches I was close and hanging on in between win and draw, in few matches I was close to get correct scores but could not get any. Year 2020 turns out to be bad for me in terms of gambling and also predicting. I hope I will be back in the next round with better scores.

I would say I am a little bit luckier than you this time.

Funny but it was more effective than the VAR ruining the fun/goal celebrations associated with the premier league. Actually the referee gave the penalty he initially missed and everyone was fine with the decision. Off course the guy with the shotgun played a viral role lol. We (Africa) will get there someday for now we're just enjoying what we gat and hopefully the future will be better.

Man it's the same story as EPL I guess. The favor will always goes where the gun is 🤪

Another VAR nonsense in Premier League. How this handball from Spurs is not a penalty after checking? I am pro VAR in general, but what they are doing in England is total travesty.

I am pro VAR as well, there will be many good decisions but they do it all wrong in the premier league... There must be a clear error something a ref should have seen before he can be over ruled.... Also sometimes when they are catching the mm work of where the foot or the knee or whatever is positioned then it probably also would be arguable if thats the exact moment the ball is kicked by the player sending the pass.....
Then again what would be the best solution thats fair and not arguable for everyone??

Just remove VAR and keep the beautiful game pure. IMHO.  It was already a damn good game without the human factor removed.  Why spoil such a good thing?

Here is an example from somewhere in Africa, maybe FA should learn from technically superior setups

Back on topic: I was just too offset to come drop my view after the disappointing game we had against Brighton on the 1st. Imagine struggling to maintain a draw in a game you went up with one goal advantage in just 10 minutes and had 80 more minutes plus additional times to double your lead but no we allowed Brighton to get something out of the match and if not for Tottenham and Manchester United poor performance, our advantage would had been reduced to just 3 and 2 points respectively. (speaking of the top 4 spot).

Lampard should try his best to get a world class striker to compliment (assist) Abraham since the transfer window is open and our ban has already been lifted. Without this the second half of the season would be disastrous. This inconsistency needs to stop, imagine winning against Arsenal (at their home) and almost losing to Brighton the very next game. That's just poor.

Went with 3-0 on the Liverpool game and it's currently 2-0 with about ten mins to go (including probable injury time). Was debating whether to change it to 2-0 before kick off but hoping Liverpool can get another for the three points for both of us. Edit: Game just finished 2-0  Roll Eyes Tokeweed with another correct score and just beats out micro for this weeks yellow cap.

Maybe he's belongs to the crack squad of football snipers who's firing all those shots at these divers:

No Premier League games this weekend because of the FA Cup. Liverpool/Everton derby is probably the only game worth a watch on Saturday. Then there's the Man City/United one on Tuesday as well.

Anyone expecting anything other than a comfortable win from Liverpool tonight?

Not really, it's a game before a long break so I expect the strongest team and another statement victory.
I'm aware we can't win all games, but I feel really confident going into this one.

That's it for New Year's Day fixtures, and the big winner today was Chelsea since Tottenham, Wolves, and Manchester United all dropped points. Kinda reminds me of last season (near the end) when the top 4 race was just every team dropping points so there was no "race", it was very pathetic lol

About our pool, good job @toke and micmen (is this @micgoossens?), looks like i'll give my yellow cap to one of you in this round.

Combination of Lacazette-Pepe-Auba-Ozil is clicking very good at front.
The whole team was superb today, but I find it extremely odd how Lacazette ran out of gas at around the 70 minute, same as the game against Chelsea.

I thought the second half was pretty boring, but still a marked improvement in their recent form and their first win in six games. Their recent game against City was embarrassing to watch.  They seemed like a different team.

Well I know but there's not many other options when you can't split the teams. Nobody backed Aston Villa to win today and I was only one goal away from a correct score there. At least I got two of the 1-1s today. Shame about Everton grabbing a goal to ruin my perfect score there. Gone for another 1-1 on the Arsenal/Man U game in play now but the Gunners are 2-0 up and seem to be dominating so I doubt I'll get the points from the draw. If United can get an early goal in the second half it will probably change the game though.
Yesterday I was giving you suggestion and now it seems I need tips from others. Had a shit round for me so far. Got only 3.5 points from 9 matches where tokeweed managed to get 12.5 so far. Lost my first position and now seems like tokeweed, MoSala will rule the pool. Not to mention LFC_Bitcoin too. And panjul07, examplens, Mbitr are also coming very fast!

I've racked a huge 28 points in the last 5 rounds. Amazing result, I'm so lucky I withdrew my earlier betting winnings and decided to take a betting break.

I would have been bankrupt by now, I cannot get a single game right.

Draws are always risky and I rarely go with Draws.

There's no consistency to the handball rule and its left up to pure opinion. Sometimes they're given for minor things and then blatant ones they're not. I think they should change the rule and either just give them for any contact in the pen area (maybe as long as it's not pointblank) or only give them if it's a blatant handball on purpose (which hardly ever happens). It's annoying seeing defenders with their hands behind their back because they're petrified of the ball accidentally hitting them. Half of the time this makes them off balance and the attacker just breezes past them anyway.

Looks like Mikel Arteta finally clicked the right pulse of Arsenal. Wonderful flowing football from Arsenal as I am used to see since childhood.

Hope second half also turns as productive as first for them (I picked 3-2 win for Man Utd but who cares. I am ready to drop points in every game if opponents play such a beautiful game).

How about that for Everton? That is so not the way to resist City, see if they can hold out another 45 minutes...
Well so far two conceded as expected but for some reason I was hoping City to score in the first half too.  I actually had two bet slips to back up my belief.

One: City to win the first half
Two: Over 0.5 goals in the first half
Unlucky me of course.

West Ham is on fire by the way. 4 - 0 so far.

Edit: Everton scored and it's 2-1 now.
If the match finish as this then tokeweed will be on fire!

@toke dafuq you don't know slam points haha, but yeah basically, more correct outcomes get you more additional points. So it rewards more correct outcomes, and somewhat doesn't encourage you to go against the flow. But well, so far, anyone going against the flow would be getting some joy today from Spurs loss and Wolves surprise loss.

Chelsea's an upset too at Brighton, but only if you actually predicted the draw. The draws are the real killer I think, in which case, real good one hilarious and tokes;)
