Sinner withdrew and Alcaraz lost his game, it's not looking bad.

This is however leaving 90% of the league in draw on that question, Sinner - Alcaraz was the major call, maybe with a little difference on who ends up with the trophy. But then there is just one user, I don't understand how come, if it was premeditated or just a random luck, he went with Medvedev vs Rublev for final, I doubt there is a chance either of them not making it to the finals.

Oh wow! I just read the article that Trofo posted and I see that even I got mentioned. I'd love if I was mentioned in a good way, but it is what it is Grin Winning against mv1986 would really boost my team's confidence and since Sinner withdrew and Alcaraz lost his game, it's not looking bad.

New article is up guys:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/soccer/news/bitcoin-sports-fanatics-league-round-cup

Give it a read, maybe I covered your cup journey so far Smiley

Probably the best one yet for this season!

And also I got a mention, my team is feeling superfly and can't wait for the next round of the cup matches  Wink We're going all the way this time, we just need some of the Bayern and Real Madrid esque teams to eliminate each other first  Wink Grin

Those unexpected results from the top seeds made me lose out on a point. The same goes for the Dortmund match, a 1-0 scoreline is probably the last thing I would expect after scoring tons of goals from the previous round.

On the bright side, I didn't expect our matchup to be mentioned in the latest article.  Grin

The questions Trofo and cryptofrka came up with have been really tricky again.
Those combo choices are always one of the toughest points to earn, and i'd be lucky to get them half right.  Tongue

So you were waiting for the result between Alcaraz and Struff yesterday huh lol. I guess alot of people were waiting on that result as well and I was one of it as well then I had something to rush for so I put in Rublev to anticipate if Alcaraz lose against Struff which turned out to be a good decision after all. Now I just need Rublev to make it to the final to get a point against Hhampuz

And now Sinner withdrew. So it's a big ass draw question for maybe most of us?

I knew I should have gone Rublev. Goddamn top seeds.

I didn't watch Alcaraz play yesterday, but even If I did I strongly doubt I would have gone for the ticking time bomb Rublev, I most certainly would have just gone for players from the same bracket to go all the way, in this instance it would have been (Medvedev - Sinner) knowing that one of them should make the finals, of course there is no way to know that Sinner would withdraw... Man should have retired while still clapping hard; I've always like it when people leave it at the clapping stage rather than waiting until they've lost everything before retiring. Tiger Woods, Alonso, and Hamilton were all monarchs, with the world at their feet. There is nothing else to watch about them now. They don't even interest me anymore...

Submitted answers - a must win round for me.

Maybe for him it's not about clapping anymore but doing one big tournament as his last. He already said these are all about getting fit for end of the year, so I think he even went further than he thought like with De Minaur.

Football is different. If you're old and you cause your team to lose, you kinda share some of the blame Tongue

And also money Cheesy

In tennis, pace is an added advantage, and as you get older, you gradually lose that ability, and then twist and ankle issues begin to eat you up, making it difficult to compete against younger players with good pace. Nadal has won everything there is to win, and I'm shocked to see him still battling against kids who were watching him a few years ago and losing to them. Lol

Football and tennis are no different; age is a significant factor in both sports because they involve a lot of movement.

Tennis questions is shoot and hope- there's always withdrawal shit and all kinds of disappointment.

Guys you can't imagine how sad I am for being late for my submission.  Sad  I have been in the countryside for a while and I have a really weak signal here so I can't use the internet comfortably. This cost me wasting a week in the league here. First the elimination from the cup and now this... I have been the leader in Division 1 but after this round I'm going to lose a big advantage. From now on I will do my best to make up for this week.
Sorry but evil mafia have very strict rules  Grin
I wish that we all have one green card pass that we can use one time during the season to postpone matches in situations like this.
Sometimes it can be countryside or other emergency situation when we dont have internet connection.

And now Sinner withdrew. So it's a big ass draw question for maybe most of us?
I think most of us failed tennis question, but I am starting our duel with a point from Dortmund scoring only one goal.
I expected 2:1 win for PSG, that would work much better for me in all other competitions, but I wont complain.
So many missed chances from PSG, they will have to explode in next round at Parc des Princes.

Noice article Trofo. Though the first mention of Division 1 had the most unexpected outcome (I'm still laughing at CLS63!). Massive boost to all you title chasers.
Happened also when he did not show to derby with you in previous season Smiley I am writing article on Monday and trying to get it online Tuesday morning. Sometimes that process takes time and then it looks a bit strange when my points get trashed by deadline.

Always nice when league leader gets penalty points though  Grin Thanks cls63

Yeah, I remember very, very well. The derby that never happened. That's a team too confident they forgot they still need to show up on the pitch to get points.

Oh and, now I wish I listened to my gut seeing Alcaraz struggle yesterday and put Rublev in instead. Slight advantage for me vs notblox1 here, now the worst I can do on tennis question is draw.

I could copy your post and claim it is mine. I thought the same. Waiting until the very last second to just see how Alcaraz was struggling and to then stick with the decision to put him as a finalist wasn't the smartest move on my part. In retrospect it was the best warning one could get. But again I thought it is kind of a home game for the Spaniard and I am still influenced in my decision making by some of his crazy good games from the past. But most of the time it is probably safest neutralization of the opponent's answer here. Putting Rublev wasn't an easy choice either and I am sure you thought the same when Alcaraz won the first set: I did it all right, being patient paid off! Tongue

If Alcaraz lost, I would have gone with Cerundolo. Rublev ain't there yet Grin
Why did Sinner withdraw? I kinda hoped he'd give me a point here.

Tennis being tennis though - and Madrid is as unpredictable as they come.

I'm also very sad that you decided to do this, but not doing it during our round. Don't worry, you were #1 in this division so you won't suffer. Trofo and others will be so happy that the past few weeks has seen first place drop points.

I guess we could have decided to call for leniency in some certain scenario and for unhabitual people, but then that would cause a whole new level of fiasco and controversies from those who have partially made it a habit.
We can't, whenever there is not a strict rule in place at some point it becomes unfair towards somebody.

Yeah, we've had people get late submissions by seconds, the rule's the rule and it's there to paint a line for black-and-white, in sports where there are so many grey areas.

Let's just call CLS63 the one season one miss guy =p

After a draw between Real and Bayern, mv1986 and me have four more different answers at the end of the week. I already lost a point for the tennis question because I didn't wait for the Zverev game to end. He lost straight 2-0 against Cerundolo. I knew it's a risk to go with him, but I didn't expect him to lose so soon. I expected him to battle against Alcaraz and somehow win against him.

It was a strange game as it was the team that did not have control over the game that scored the goals. Of course I was hoping for the Bayern win when they scored their second goal, but I somehow knew that it wouldn't be the end of the game. Kim Min-Jae seldomly plays so much bullshit in a single game. The way he left the own third to run after Vinicius Junior to then get overrun by him was quite amateurish. Same applies to the penalty he was responsible for. How did he think to get away with that tackle? Of course Rodrygo will draw the penalty from that foul. Anyone here also agrees that Neuer's movement on the line was pretty bad when Vini took the penalty? The penalty was weak, but Neuer was literally lying in the opposite corner already before the ball was even hit...

The questions Trofo and cryptofrka came up with have been really tricky again. There are now so many small margins within a single question. I like it, but it really takes some thought to make up one's mind. Can Barcelona score two goals? Yes and slackovic would instantly be wrong with under 3.5. But at the same time I thought that Girona to win a draw while going over 3.5 is very tricky, too.

The tennis question is a tough one and as cryptofrka has said here in another post, it was so close and I was waiting like everyone else to submit my answer. Obviously, it would have made a big difference for me as I picked him as a finalist. In the end I had to take a gamble as I submitted when the game was not yet concluded.

Liverpool question is tough as well and formula 1 is not really my field of expertise. But good to see though that slackovic and I have different answers.

@slackovic now we have to wait until Saturday to see some more relevant results, good luck! Wink

You can't even say 'one 1h late submission per member will be tolerated' because it will be abused at some point - perfect example is the tennis question yesterday. Everybody would wait for Alcaraz to finish and be 'accidentally late' in that round.

It's unfortunate when active players like jeremypwr or cls63 fail to submit, but it's still a really rare occasion. I think it's jeremy's 1st miss, and cls has one per season so he'll probably learn now not to enjoy the countryside too much in the future Grin

Great, my draw paid off in the Real-Bayern question, and the NBA question is about to lean towards the 2 or more after the Sixers pull off the win against the Knicks to extend the series to game six.

I'll need Club Brugge KV to do the same tomorrow to hold off vivekdkhyani from catching up and keep my lead until the first half.  Wink
