I lost the round, very bad start for me so far 0 correct, congratulations @arallmuus

Goodluck on the next one mate, I was abit lucky that Chelsea didnt ended up winning and Liverpool late minutes goal really secure me another point there.

Shopify is choker but that doesn’t mean they always lose. They can perform well on some games and I’m relying on it which I’m already regretting right now by watching the game 1.

RTZ tinkerbel is idiotic to matchup with CK especially late game. Lulba draft is weirder in TI. Wth is the game 1.

The fact that I personally think SR is not a good matchup against TSM is probably because these guys played alot against each another and TSM is just better imo. I hope I dont jinx this but I need TSM to win on my ticket

Sorry, but what do you mean by the word "choker"? Like, expected to fail or something?

Choker means they show an early sign of winning the game then later on blow the game due to bad gameplay in late game.

You didn't mention Gaimin Gladiators now, but from what I have learned I thought they are usually among the favorites for the title? This is at least what the odds always suggested when I checked them to answer BSFL questions.

Yes they are the previous favorite since they manage to win multiple major tournaments in Dota2 at ease before. They are just recently show some weakness on TI and previous tournaments after the majors. It’s the clear example of choker if they can’t finish good on TI which they are destined to be since they are new the elimination.  Cheesy

But you also went with TSM getting eliminated by Shopify Rebellion and this is why I asked why some chose their answers against the odds and instead picked Shopify Rebellion to end up losing that game.

That is the perfect game where bookies posted the odds wrong. 1.5 for Shopify is ridiculous, while I believe they are maybe slight favorite this is 50:50 game. I wouldn't play anything less than 1.8 on them which means +1.5 handicap on TSM, or over maps are great value for me. And I have them both on some tickets.

But now I wonder why some of you guys would go against the odds that bookmakers have here? Is it because you see a window of opportunity to take some risk and win the point in the h2h question or is it because you know something that the bookmakers did not take into account correctly? I just went with the odds and Shopify Rebellion is favored on all sites I know or came across. Some explanation would be appreciated.

Because there’s a lot of choker on Dota2 especially Shopify Rebellion RTZ. They always rank high on their regional tournaments because the team on their region is not that strong compared to WEU and EEU. Bookmaker place odds according to stats which is why Shopify sometimes receive a high odds despite they are known choker especially on big tournaments like this.

GG and Tundra are other teams to watch out for teams that can show an upset despite bookmaker place them on the advantage. There’s a lot of teams on Dota2 that is just good on intro (introboyz) which they can’t close tournament even if they have a good start.

Just follow consistent teams if you want to be successful on Dota2 predictions. Team like Liquid, Team Spirit and LGD are the most consistent team for me while EG is the dark horse team that can pull a major upset on any strong team. I always place +1.5 for them when they are against strong team.  Cheesy

An interesting game in the Premier League between Chelsea and Arsenal. Arsenal didn't have a single final attack so far. Not a single shot, let alone one on target.  I think that this could be a game situation that Chelsea is able to handle with their lead. Arsenal will push harder in the second half, but Chelsea is dangerous enough to strike again.

What the hell is happening hahah. I'm on 0 points so far. Mafia's doing shit all for me in the elite division.
I was switching appartments so I was basically unaware of my shitty performance. Heads will roll if we don't improve our perormance by the end of the round.

/snip

Well... You wanted to play with the big boys so what would be better welcome message than a straight loss? I just hope I can deliver the same message to last season undefeated champion of the Division 2 leea-1334. I'm up only 2-0 but it feels so good to finally leading against someone Grin

but I am calling out cro2 team Trofo and cryptofrka early to please include UFC 295 scheduled for November 11, with main event Stipe Miocic vs Jon Jones.
Stipe is finally back after long break and Madison Square Garden will be full for this event.

Sure, just please remind us before November 2nd. You can even suggest how you'd like the question to be worded, give yourself an edge if you've got one Wink

You're always free to recommend questions/sports, we try to search what's best for that week but there are some sports both of us ignore. Fighting sports are among them.

Sick table, I promised to do my post already, just a bit too um, not normal enough to be able to look at a table in code properly haha. Just a request to Cro2 could you use the wordless logo instead for table? less words so maybe easier to see, it's this one (only if not too much trouble sorry!)

buwaytress BSFL logo: https://talkimg.com/images/2023/10/17/R5bpZ.png

Anyway, Liverpool won so I should be ecstatic but the 2 goalsruined my ability to take a point, thinking I was left with a mountain to climb... but my man LTU_btc also decided to not score anything. Only Bellingham and Brighton left to separate us, eh LTU?

someone give me the link of forum ,
Where can I see the results of the first round for all participants in the third season, because I only see the results of the second season

I would like to present a suggestion, which I think would be funny and beautiful
Your suggestion looks good to me, and I would add Year when club is founded, that can be year when member registered in bitcointalk forum, maybe even current sponsors Smiley
I want to thank you for doing great work with adding logos in BSFL table, I think you helped a lot.
I am probably going to send updated package with all logos I made to cro2 team tomorrow.

How is everyone doing in first round?

Did anyone else watch Ben Shelton vs Marcos Giron first semi final game that just ended a few moments ago, that definitely the final before the final, 2 hours, 50 minutes worth of an extremely intriguing game, but Ben Shelton was able to to make it to the finals,
-snip

didn't watch it, but glad to see Shelton in the finals
it was not easy to pick him, but he is showing great form lately, and a lot of talent
actually, Giron had 1:0 in their H2H so far, and odds suggested that long match and probably decider in third set should be expected, but Shelton has guts for deciders

Up next is Karatsev vs Mochizuki, I don't think that should be any short of an interesting game as well, as both players have played some magical and top notch tennis during the course of the week.

I remember Trofo saying few days ago that betting on esports brings more money than betting on "real" sports because bookies often gives better odds. But you have ti really follow the sport like that to be better than the bookies. I will probably never bet on it because I don't have any idea how to compare two teams that are playing against each other.
Not better odds, wrong odds - big difference Smiley They miscalculate because their algorithms are trained on traditional sports and thing move much faster on eSport scene. Just look at DOTA, new patch comes often and almost always changes the meta in some way. Bookies will never account for those changes or for the draft. And that is something we can exploit.

That being said this tournament is terrible for betting since it has 5 day pauses between play that happens on weekends. Too much time for teams to change strategies and screw my picks. Lost a shitload of money yesterday and will probably skip betting today and pounce on tomorrow after I see all the teams play.

Thanks for the explanation because I don't really know DOTA 2 that well and I haven't checked the results from the group stage and I only went with the odds provided by the bookmakers. However, I have now a couple of times seen that the Gaimin Gladiators play bad during the first stages and then out of a sudden are the favorites again. But in this case it may mean that you have made a better choice than me! Wink The same counts for cryptofrka of course, who is my opponent this round. But I hope the bookmakers get their stuff right although I think Trofo said that this is one of the sports where they are sometimes worse at calculating the odds than those who really know the scene.

I don't mind explaining my tactics about "sport" like DOTA 2. Just don't use it to beat me when we meet in the future Grin

Yes this is the big difference for me, but also for the bookmakers when it comes to "more popular" sports, although e-sports is incredibly popular, but maybe not as old and mainstream as other sports. I couldn't tell what it means when for example one guy from an e-sport team gets sick and can't play. But I can tell what it means for PSG when Mbappe gets sick Tongue The thing is that the bookmakers can as well tell what it means when Mbappe gets sick, but they probably have less of an idea when it comes to calculating adjusted odds for e-sports. I guess this could be one of those opportunities Trofo was talking about.

This question is not looking for the favorites to win their games, but for those you think will most likely lose their games, i.e. teams who have to leave the tournament. Since you chose Shopify Rebellion, you are hoping for them to lose their game against TSM.

I am not sure if I understood correctly that you misunderstood this question, but it seems like it. But I think the Shopify Rebellion - TSM game was the closest in regards to the odds and that is when those with a bit more knowledge about DOTA have a little advantage as they know what could make a decisive difference.

Oh my God you are right! I completely forgot that the question was who will leave the competition. I knew that when I was submitting my answers but forgot about it after. But now I'm surprised why some of you that know DOTA went with TSM. I was looking at the group stage and TSM finished their group at 2nd place while Shopify Rebellions finished their group at 4th place. That's why I went with them. I'm not that into DOTA to research deeper so I just went with the group placements.

Thanks for the explanation because I don't really know DOTA 2 that well and I haven't checked the results from the group stage and I only went with the odds provided by the bookmakers.
