Djokovic looking really shaky, might even lose here.

Not sure, even though he lost in 2 sets the betting market still supports him odds @1.30 if we bet on Djokovic and @3.3 for Djere
The betting market predicts that Djokovic will make a comeback and it looked like he would secure the 3rd set without giving a single point to Djere
Regarding the 1st and 2nd sets, is Djokovic joking? I mean, deliberately giving gamblers a surprise  Cheesy

I wouldn't be surprised if he came back and won bro, I've seen this a lot this tournament already.

Update on all the women tennis top seed :

All 6 of them ended up winning their first 2 games. Some will be playing their their 3rd game today while some will play it tomorrow so cross your fingers on your selections  Roll Eyes

Decent number of BSFL participants were actually answering the question with all Yes. I guess women tennis top seed is less 'volatile' compared to the men top seed huh, this is probably the first time that I paid extra attention on women tennis

I think it's exactly the opposite. Women players in tennis tend to lose games against much weaker opponents "on paper". For example Pugula lost 2-0 against Bouzkova (who is 31st on the WTA list) in Cincinnati. And in Montreal she managed to win only one game against Samsonova who is 15th on the WTA list. I'm not following women tennis that much but I think that surprises are more common in women tennis than in men tennis.

As for the men tennis question, it looks like a point against me once again because both Đoković and Alcaraz won all matches straight 3-0.
Biggest difference between men and women in tennis is in serve. When men have a bad day, they can serve out until things get better. When women have bad day it is 6:0 in 20 minutes.

I still remember what one pro gambler told me long time ago about betting on tennis. When you bet on ATP you have to check surfaces, form and know something about players. When you bet on WTA you need to know what foot she got up, what is her horoscope sign how it correlates with current planetary alignement and if she is on period. Still if you get all that correct it is enough that someone in audiance yells wrong thing and your choice falls apart. Grin In short, don't bet on WTA.

Speaking of WTA looks like Rybakina must be on that time of month in the constellation of Libra and Aquarius  Grin Grin Grin

Latvia keeps performing incredibly well in the last quarters. After destroying France 26-12, which was enough for a close 88-86 win, they did the same to Spain today.

They won the last quarter 27-11, overturning an 11-points deficit. Now they are the favorites to go through to the quarterfinals where they should face a quite winnable Germany.

I'll be rooting for them, they have done so much already - it would be great if they would be able to win a medal.

I've generally been 50-50 this season with the 50-50s, but I feel like it's been going the way of the very very slight "lower-seeded" team in even odds. Last round it was Canada over France, this one is Haecken (their odds improved yesterday though).

that is kudos to Cro2 for picking good and interesting matches
Canada is not my cup-of-tea, they are miss for me always, since their football plays against Guatemala or some other Carribean football masterpiece

Serbia lost to Italy, it will be tough one against Dominican republic with this play as today, Fontecchio entered top5 race with 30 points today, not sure if anyone has him on board (thought about him, but counted on our defense, that wasn't on their best today allowing him 9/11 from field)

Pretty strange to see all WTA seeds still alive on R3 but this is where the cracks start to appear -- pleased I went with all "yes" but you never count chickens in this game. Men's top 2 haven't dropped a set yet!

Agree about the sets thing for women, which is what I mentioned earlier. More opportunity for upsets. I actually used to like betting on 3:1 and 3:2 for live men's on the favs but Djoker's been imperious lately.

I finally have a football match going my way to give me an advantage, I don't remember the last time such thing happened, I just believed Hacken have been doing very well lately and Aberdeen are the exact opposite of that, so it was just really easy going with Hacken based on my guess, glad it worked out well for me, maybe I can't finally get a win on the board again after almost 2 months without one.

It was always a risk. Haecken scored 1 or 0 goals in their last 10 away games. I think when they scored their second it was 2 from 2 shots on goal vs 5 from Aberdeen at that stage. This was luck in the first half to me.

I hate myself for always losing points on those 50-50 questions.

I would argue that it is similar in usual competitions, but men have less surprises on GS's due to playing best-of-5 and it is hard to win three sets against better opponent
can't count how many times Djokovic overturned 0:2 match on GS, and in women competition that would be already done

with all that, glad to see Pegula in third round, match against Svitolina is a point decider for me, odds on her are @1.36, not realistic IMO, it will be tougher to pass through

Oh yeah. I completely forgot about the part where men need to win three sets, while women need to win only two sets in grand slams. I drew my conclusion by checking the last results from Pegula and saw that she lost against much weaker opponent in both tournaments prior to the US Open.

It looks like Jabeur managed to win against Noskova tonight. It wasn't easy because they played a tie-break in the first set (which Jabeur won) and then Noskova won the second set 6-4. She's playing against Bouzkova tomorrow and that will be my chance to win a point against Slissy who just won his first point due to Hacken qualifying for the next round. I hate myself for always losing points on those 50-50 questions.

All the top 6 seeds are actually just about to face their biggest test yet in the US open, but some are actually more tougher than the other in my opinion, Pegula, the USA no 1. opponent is still suppose to be one of the easiest according to their seedings where she's 3rd coming into the tournament, but in reality I think she's facing the toughest opponent in the 3rd round than the remaining 5 seeded players, she's up against Elina Svitolina, meanwhile Svitolina have been very impressing, all the way back from Wimbledon.

I still fancy Ons Jabeur chances against Bouzkova, than that of Pegula playing against Svitolina. It's just a matter of less than 24 hours, I'll try to put a bit of parlay on all the 6 of them to win their respective games, hopefully it'll be of decent odds combine, except Coco Gauff's, that's the match up I don't think the ML is worth it, and Gauff winning in straight sets over Mertens is easier on paper, than in the court.

I assumed I was gonna lose on Hacken as well (went with Aberdeen), but I hedged it with a 5mBTC bet on Hacken to qualify.

I've been countering my BSFL picks with great success recently, meaning I'm earning money on SB, but losing games here.

I really want that Div1, so need to up my game a bit. I'm also kinda unlucky, I have 2/3 correct and am at a disadvantage again. Let's see what basketball brings us.

@Trofo and @cryptofrka - could you maybe freeze the first row and the first two columns in the spreadsheet? It's not that important when I look at the spreadsheet on my computer, but when I want to check it out on my mobile, it's hard to see which row is mine and which one my opponent's. If it's too much of a trouble, then never mind. I have been meaning to ask you that for some time...

Sorry, missed this somehow - you probably edited in your post because I did not get notified.

Basically, the top row (questions) automatically goes into freeze mode and when you scroll, it should always be on top.
I did the same for columns for this round, test it on your phone and tell me if it's working.

I just checked on my mobile phone and it's much easier to see which row is for certain player. I'm not sure how it looks on the computer, but I guess it's OK too. I didn't know that the top row gets automatically frozen. Anyhow, now it looks good.

And it's looking like the WTA top 6 seeds are likely just going to breeze through their opponents here.
My first surprise pick should come about today, Jabeur to lose against Noskova. Also have money on this one since I don't rate Jabeur on hard surface as good player. This is the worst surface for hear drop shots and slices.

I was probably going to use my VAR on her initially because during her first match, she was having a hard time breathing and had to get her inhaler, and need some medical attention, I guess she's asthmatic or semi, and the humid atmosphere didn't help, and that didn't stop her from struggling with the breathing and body language wasn't up and running, but she fought her way out. She's improve a lot from my point of view if there was game she should lose it would have been that, imo. Noskova  have the advantage of the their my match up, but then I think if Jabeur is healthy tonight, I reckon she'd win the game, I could place a bet on her to win 2:1 correct score.

not sure if anyone is following basketball championship outside from upper draw that gives scorers for question, but Venezuela vs Georgia is giving vibes as it is a court in a park nearby, not professional tournament

back to back dunk missed, and after that missed lay-up, 32 countries is way too much for any basketball tournament
