Yeah, we plan to start on Monday to catch the CL games. Maybe we'll rebalance the leagues a bit, we'll see.
Considering that we have a fixed amount of possible rounds until the football season ends and SB wants to crown the winner at the same time as Arsenal are crowned champions, for this season our options regarding league size/potential fixtures list is a bit limited.

We'll know more in a few days, the applications for the 1st league are closing soon (these are closing a bit earlier because we need to collect entrance fees) and we'll be a bit smarter then.

Absolutely! The guys held the World Cup competition without any problems and while this competition will probably be more work, I'm sure they will once again do a great job. Will you start the competition on Monday even if you don't get enough applications to fill all three leagues? Will you start the competition with less players to start with?

I'm still yet the full picture of how the competition would work out, but I don't want to read too much into it just yet and try to get ahead of myself, there are just about enough pools to worry about for now, However, I'm pretty sure that with you and Trofo at the helm of affairs, there is absolutely nothing to worry about, I can only just look forward to it.

No, currently they remain in the 3rd league. They are just the only ones that aren't getting any rewards.
In later instances, when we will have 3 leagues with 20 players, these 3 players will probably be removed from the competition and new 3 players will be given a chance to enter.

But let's go step by step, we'll see how we'll deal with that when hopefully we reach that point. For now everybody remains in the competition.

That may be true, but getting relegated isn't that terrible thing. You still earn rewards in the second league as well, even though they are not that generous. The only thing that Trofo and cryptofrka didn't mention (or I didn't get it) is what will happen with people that end up in the last three spots in the third league. Do they get kicked out of the competition? And if they get kicked out, can they return somehow?

I don't want to overthinking it, but starting from 3rd division is the way that should not be subject to any complains, and if you think you deserve to get into top division, you will in six months (two seasons) if everything goes well
anyway, I don't have anything against you two playing with all others, not sure if there is a slight advantage since you are choosing questions, so there is an edge to familiarity to sports that will be added, but I don't see that as big advantage, guessing outcomes is never easy and requires some luck as well

being placed in 1st division brings with it "fear from relegation" , so everyone should think before wishing it

I personally have nothing against both of you participating because you get to choose the questions, but you don't know the outcome. As for the league you will be starting in, you can always start in the second league and climb your way up to the first league. That way no one can say that you gave yourself a spot in the first league. Do like you think is best, but I don't think that you two should be excluded because you don't have any advantage except that you get to pick participants.

Besides, I don't understand why would anyone complain about being placed in the second league. It is less rewarding, but you still get to play and climb your way to the first league.

Sportsbet will let us run it the way we think is best, at least at the beginning.
We are the ones that want this thread to be an overview of all important sports events/milestones happening at that moment.

That is why we will implement some less known sports during important events, to try and familiarize you with that sport as well.
But, it will be a minority so you will still be able to win even if you follow only football, tennis and basketball.


Cup is a nice idea, it was discussed and will probably be implemented once we get the competition running smoothly. Until then we will keep the league format only, so there will not be a cup in the first 2 seasons for sure.

Regarding us playing - if the spots won't be filled, maybe we'll start from the 3rd division and see how the community feels about it. If we do plan to participate, we will make a survey asking for your opinions.

We really really want to, and we don't see us having an edge here. But after all - we organize this for you and want you all to be satisfied.

I would argue that I deserve first division in competition like this and if it was run by someone else I would probably got it and nobody would have a problem with it. But it gets funny if I am also the person that chooses who goes into which league doesn't it?

I am sure there will be people in second league that think they deserved better but places are limited and we can only fit 14. At least if we exclude ourselves nobody can have that argument.

I just thought about it, the worse I can image is not quiet people in the league but getting stuck in low division for 5 seasons. Maybe, there must also be league cups (side contest) that all divisions participate for same prize.

I would say you both have the right to participate, there is absolutely no advantage I agree, it's like bookies making markets, just because they set the odds doesn't mean they know the outcome except well ok they know the "real odds"?

But I would say if there is no objection, I have no problems, I hope noone else does. It would be even better to me to have you guys participate so we can all measure our results against the league founders and btw league founders all played the leagues in every country, made the rules but aso played by the same rules


Kabbadi is probably one of oldest sport in the world. It's like rugby + wrestling I guess. National sport of Bangladesh, that's how I think I first heard out about it, but actually the first time I really saw it was because of Sportsbet! IIRC in their ANN they were posting some stuff about it, or maybe it was one of the 4-3-free specials for a while, I can't really remember. So I know for sure it has betting options at Sportsbet before.

Like you said, visibility is business, less sport. Kabbadi is very very old, and used to settle disputes in villages lol


That's why I would say no to stuff like waterpolo (or as I said kabbadi above). It is not representative enough, but for sure tennis and even American sports although I don't follow, I know it's more "universal". Unfortunately again only because of visibility/business.

I believe you and me are among the little wagerers, lol and yet we don't mind paying fees. In forum you can see people talk big a lot like they bet so much but cannot pay 1 fee per season, very "strange" indeed.

With so much sport ahead of me, I don't know if I have to do sit-ups, go for a run, do exercise routines or just use GS. Smiley And/or incorporate Club House TV into my routine.

Although I will surely have to incorporate some Streaming, I think it would be good for the first Division...


For others divisions, YouTube and ESPN, it would be fine.

As far as i know the vast mayority of us are from the occident. So if we dont have a +20% of participan from the eastern side, i think we can not put that sports in the extras.

I dont know nothing about all that sports, i know maybe SB want this, but for me we can stay with the clasics one, like Tenis, NBA, F1, etc.

I know i can google some things but its not the same.

In other things i dont know why people dont want to pay a little fee when like cryptofrka said, in all the spots you have a reward. And who is talking its a man without so much money, im a very little wager.

what is kabbadi? I know i can google it, but first hand explanation would be great

hey, I am all in for low visibility sports (those are real sports, high visibility sports are mostly business, less sport), and low range competitions, but those would not cater for broad audience
and moreover, this is closer to gambling than to sport competition, so included sports should have some gambling visibility as well

I am properly pissed I can't be part of this competition and I know cryptofrka feels the same. We don't have any real advantage but there would always be somebody that would have problems with our participation if we do well. If you or anybody else trough the season would love a side bet we can make it any point. I usually have a couple of side bets on the forum every season but somehow this one went without them.

I know you don't like me very much, maybe because I am better gambler master than you, but I decided to join League of Fanatics and pay participation fee.
If I don't make it in first division I will blame you, and than I propose we are going to make one to one betting competition between me and you to settle our differences 

The thing here is that only 14 spots need to pay - and the reward for the worst one is almost as good as the fee alone.
There are 28 free spots available - where you play only for profit (although smaller than in the 1st Division of course).

Once we start, it will be much harder to get a spot - because only 6 people will be able to join for Season 2. And when we reach 60 players - well, then it will be practically impossible to get a spot in the future.


It is more work with that, but also with schedules and league placements that will have to be done for each league after each game.
Every game will be a P2P duel that will have to be manually resolved.
Still, we aren't complaining, we are thrilled to do this


I don't know a thing about cycling or pole vault hahah. We will make a thorough research for every sport/question, and won't introduce something just for the sake of it.
These were just general examples - don't worry too much about it. We'll make it fun

Cycling is somewhat not easy to include in these competitions, since their races are quite often long-term (weeks or so), and chances are low to guess who will win one round/day race
for Pole vault, Sergey Bubka is not competing anymore, but he was the one patented WR race on each competition, raising the bar for 1cm , would be included in every round probably

but thanks to you and Trofo for clarifying, seems great and I am pretty sure that both of you will done great job to ensure this competition shines, as you already did with WC competition

It will probably be less work in creating questions, but more work in following each sport. With the World Cup competition guys had to come up with a new set of questions every few days, but they had to follow only football. This time they have to come up with less questions per week, but there will be more sports than just football.

If casperBGD is asking for handball or waterpolo, which we never play here at all, then I must request we also have stuff like kabbadi or kick volleyball which is HUGE in Asia everywhere

Or badminton at least is something Europe and Asia play together a lot. But just kidding, any sport is fine for me and obviously nobody can satisfy everybody!


I don't think there was any bad comment too, for sure the reception and positive feedback was what encouraged them to go even further and do this new league format. Get used to the fact that there will be 20 ppl applying in campaigns daily and 20 people in 1 season asking for a fee lol.


I totally agree. I wouldn't mind being in any division, although my priority is being in an active division, it would suck if all my rivals are silent Promotion would be an honor too!

I'm curious that it's less work than world cup, but maybe once a week is better than every 2/3 days for sure!

Rules are really not complicated, they just seem a lot since they cover a lot of behind the scene stuff, we could have left that out but wanted to be transparent from the beginning. Participants will have less work than in World Cup competition. All you have to do is answer 10 questions per week. All other stuff is for those who want to know how we do it.

I did not say LFC is not special enough. I am actually 99% sure he will be in first division. I just said that he has better chance if he applies now than later. Nobody can chose first division, you just can state if you are willing to pay 2.5 mBTC to play in it.

Payments will be done after we select people that will be in first division and only those 14 people will actually pay. If you said yes but you end in second division you are not paying.

I can't tell you which division you will get since I don't know who will still apply. If nobody else signes you would be in first division by some margin. Tie breaker between similar candidates will be time of sign up and that is why I urged LFC to do it sooner rather than later. Same goes for you.
