Hope this helps with giving a visual representation of how the bracket system will apply. Would have gone the extra mile of replacing names and the alike but unfortunately, I couldn't replace country names with how the names have been drawn in our group charts as this might bring about confusion when compared to the actual team's performance in IRL, otherwise, this is it.

OP just a quick one, since this is going to be simulating the real games does this mean Group A will have an opening match just like the Qatar - Ecuador match?

As you can see guys, first spot in every group has been reserved for seeded players, all others had same weight during the draw. This graphic has also been added  behind the OP for the reference and we will update it after every round with points.

Knockout stages will be exactly the same as in World Cup so you have that Wiki link in cryptofrka post where you can see who will play who after the groups. We will make the graphic at later date when we know who qualified but as I announced we already have the draw all the way to the final.

I want to participate in the competition like Denmark in the year 92. I hope I get that chance. I believe I will be a champion. I wish everyone success

So fellas, the official groups look like this
Oh nice, I see that am in Group H and I don't see any big players and people I know with me.
I am getting ready for test questions coming in few days, and for official start of World Cup coming in next Sunday.
No big players? Your group seed is maybe the toughest one in the competition. He does not have the forum rank and presence like some other seeds but he is kicking our buts in pools on regular basis. Lucky bastard  Grin

If I had to put money on who will win the competition @vd309 would probably be my choice.

'Bitcoins are like gold bars with wings' - T.W.
So fellas, the official groups look like this:

We also have 4 reserves, in the following order: Lolojones, Omikifuse, [email protected], bibiyasyo.
Anybody else can still join and be placed on the reserve list.

The reserve player steps in only if one of the regulars did not fulfill the requirements in round 1. After the 1st round, the competition will be locked.

After the group stage is complete, we'll create the knockouts tree. It will be in the same format as in the actual WC (meaning A1 is playing B2, H1 playing G2 etc), you can see it on the following link.

You can expect the test round with some general questions in a few days and the questions for the 1st round on Friday.

Are you high not?

I can guarantee you if that pass immediately here in Argentina the people its going to burn the Tata Martino family house.

And im 100% sure if that final happen Martino itself want to lose that one.

I explain myself, Martino is from Newells old boys the same with Messi and the same with Scaloni (actual manager of Argentina) all are from my city and i know how its the life here.

Plus also Di Maria its from here but he is from Rosario Central all they families are closely friends here, plus Lo Celso and Correa also from Rosario and fans of Rosario Central.I know this last two finally cant go to the WC, one for an injury and the other was down for convocatory, but still being part of the group.

And everyone here knows where they live.

And for final you are more high thinking of Mexico going trought round of 16, they not reach round quarter finals since 1970.

Lol yes I'm high, but I thought that instead of breaking my head trying to guess, let me pick a super major upset. Obviously I don't think this is the outcome, because personally I support Spain (but I know they won't go too far) and if you know me and my support of Barca, I also really love Messi a lot.

Brazil is the team to beat though Smiley

For those playing the world cup fantasy game on the Fifa website, you might be familiar with this table above but using it for reference to my question, OP is this the likely breakdown of the 7 stages rounds that will be applied on the Bitcointalk world cup game?

Secondly. I looked at the entrants spreadsheet some names have the top seed against does this mean these guys won't face each other in the first round or something...it would be nice to see them knockout each other early  Tongue
We will use exactly those rounds. Our whole competition is modeled to be as close to world cup as possible with the exception of awarding points in the groups. We are not having groups as H2H but as a league to avoid using tie breakers.

Top seed means each of them will be drawn into their own group. They will not be playing each other in group stages. After groups we will have the same knockout stage as world cup. Did not check it yet, but usually it goes like A1-B2, A2-B1. It will all be much clearer when we post groups and knockout stages graphics tomorrow or the day after.

Then we will have a small test round on Monday. That is not obligatory but I am sure most of you are eager to see how it will work. We will just put up few test questions and test all the stuff.

Real thing will begin on 18th or 19th this month with first round of questions. Really pissed I can't be part of this competition since it looks damn fine  Grin

The prestige of holding it is cool too, but we can do one just for the 2 of you in return in a fun sideway, who knows haha. Count me in for the test, curious to see how it might look like actually (in practice I mean).

Teams announced for all countries (I think). I haven't done anything in terms of predicting results of brackets elsewhere, should probably do it before the week ends though in case I forget or mess in a rush.

My World Cup bracket final Wink Feel free to not follow because this will be the surprise tournament winner plus super sad day for Messi!

How are you going to be drawing players to play against each other and secondly with the Google form questionnaire is this going to be time dependent to answer to kind of give it some fairness to it.

And btw one of the rules say we need to place a 0.5mBTC bet, does this bet have to be on those games in that round and is there any minimum odds requirements to validate a bet entry.
I believe we answered all those questions in detail. Least you can do is read trough the rules and few posts after OP. Complete rules are in the games and rounds thread. But here it goes once again:

1. I will draw players using one of random draw generators online. Was considering even streaming or making a video but decided against it since video can be edited and doesn't really prove anything. Draw will be made all the way to the finals so group stage isn't that important.
2. Questions will not be time dependent other than you have to answer them before first game starts. Why would they be? They are all about future games, it isn't like the more time will help you much. You can google some stats, but if that was that was we would all be millionaires and there wouldn't be betting sites.
3. 0.5 mBTC bet has to include at least one selection from that match day on world cup with odds of at least 1.5, other then that it is your choice how many other games you add, if any

Let me guess, we have a Messi fan in the house ::)but unfortunately Mexico doesn't have the fire power to beat the competition which writes them off and theoretically Argentina does stand a good chance of getting to the finals & I have them in my last 4 teams to get into the semi's. But a final is likely to consist of any of these 4: Argentina, Senegal, Brazil and Germany.

We plan to close applications by the end of this week and than work on the draws and questions for the 1st round.
It wasn't specifically worded here so let me be more precise. Applications for this competition will be officially closed on Sunday 11:59 AM. Basically we are accepting new applicants for one more full day. After that I will make group draw and my colleague will post it in the thread.

Then we will have a small test round on Monday. That is not obligatory but I am sure most of you are eager to see how it will work. We will just put up few test questions and test all the stuff.

So are you saying buwaytress showed you this on clubtalk? He and Trofo are among the power users I know since the beginning, actually, he is the one who told me about the forum and helped me out when I first joined and even sent me my first BTC Smiley

Are you sure you got the right guy, cause I don't remember that at all haha. Definitely spent my first year or so on forum really looking for newbies like myself. Found the fastest way to learn was to help fix Bitcoin problems (especially wallets in those days when there weren't really good apps). Also, I got my first Bitcoin for free too, from a random guy who wanted to show me how txs worked on Electrum. I remember how generous people were to spread the word, just passed it on. Hope you've found the opportunity to do the same =)

Yeah I know you don't remember, we talked about it a few years ago and you already forgot, it was from a freelancer platform, and then also in Bitvest chat long ago, you were also doing Pizza day promos around that time if I can remember correctly.

I've sent people tips online when I like them also for contributions, I never forget to pass the goodwill!!

I had never heard of bitcointalk existence before. I am actively betting on Sportsbet. When I saw that you wrote on buwaytress clubtalk, I wanted to participate in this contest. Before the 1st round matches start, I think it's enough for that round that we get a $10 bet on any world cup match. I'm also 33rd on the list. I want to be in this competition. Any competitor did not bet $10 before, say, the first round. In this case, will I be able to participate in the competition? I wish everyone good luck.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you decided to come in and check it out, love seeing your bets on Clubtalk, so I know you'd fit right into this forum (it's not at all weird many crypto people seem to be into gaming too). Hope cryptofrka explained it well to you about chances of participation. My advice? Stick around on the forum, keep active, join pools next season (also plenty of SB promos here).

Hey there, welcome to BTT forum.

The competition is primarily for active forum users, but in coordination with Sportsbet we will fill the remaining spots with users that are active in clubtalk.
Remaining spots will be given on a first come first served basis, meaning that the players that applied before you have priority.

If a registered forum user applies in the next few days, he is automatically in and goes on the list before jocoser, pushing you further down.

We will let you participate in the 1st round and yes, if someone fails to provide their betslip he will be disqualified and next one on the list will take his place - and his points for that round will be calculated.

Welcome to the forum, explore it and you'll see that this is a huge gambling community even though it's crypto, for sure in my eyes bigger than anywhere else I know (in terms of having regulars).
