580/8 hynix memory. 1.6.7- 1100+h/s but 1.7.0- 1050 h/s haven. there is an opinion that the miner 1.7.0 does not see some parameters from the config. when changing aes, fragments and bralock, the speed does not change and parameters a,f are not change in the table at startup.

i used to experiment (when i was a cryptominer kid   ) some services, user assignments, regedit, drivers, UEFI access related to storage/pci-e, -- inherents, non-logicals, "can't be" errors...(we are not talking about stock bios /brand programming, OC, risers, dual PSUs ((server(Gpu+Riser)/pc(MB)) wired together with floppy port) and all hardware/software config  yet     )  

What i remember:

- Clean hardware installation and bios settings (for exemple: DO NOT assign and boot on dGPU but on igpu; i can read this bullshit everywhere! i work with TB250 BTC and trust me that's a mess!)
- Very clean, step by step Windows 10 installation and set up (for exemple: W10Pro no often the best one, i recommend business or workstation ; i use in order (if it can help) :

3 Lock pages in memory, Pcie-e Power link and HDD settings,
4 Iobit drivers booster (uncheck dgpu),

10 Add PPT .reg file and crossfire/ulps off,

20 set up "auto boot" in bios (scheduled + AC power loss)
21 set up auto-start script for miners for windows when system boot up
22 breathe, eat, fuck, sleep!

Writing all of this i was wondering if the recent AMD Gpu Pro 18.30/RocM in Linux 18.04 brings finally a chance to reach sames hashrates as windows?!
What do you think about this? implement a Linux version should be THE solution to brake with "angry people" and they "gadgets related" stupid questions?!

I have a rig with 6x RX 570/580  - 3 with HYNIX memory and 3 with Samsung.
On the HYNIX memory I am getting only around 900 H/s on cryptonight_v8 and 990 H/s on the Samsung

Rig is - Windows 10, Beta blockchain drivers, SRB 1.7.0, 1200/2000 MH/z

The cards are not throttling, they are at 100% usage, I tried --computemode, doesn't make a difference.
I tried editing the bios with SRB Polaris - nothing...

Can anyone give me an idea where the problem is, I see lots of you have Hynix memory cards

What is really making me confused sometimes is that some complain on XY gpu new version is a lot worse, while others for that same XY gpu say the new version is a lot better.

I know something got 'lost' for older cards on the road, in the next version i will again add a 'useless extra tuning gadget', which will maybe bring back what got lost for those older cards.

I use 1.6.8 for r9 280 dx, i need to check when minerstat auto-update miners to force it to roll back/downgrade....it's ok for a 10€/month miner not for my 3x6 Vega 56 (Sapphire Pulse 56 nano PCB which are amazing...btw!)

1.7.0 for my 56s running ok with default settings, it seems to draw less power than 1.6.9 and prev'

I tried but my Vega ( 56 reference blower) are already running at low speed 1395 / 925 . Miner crash every couples of days  (5-6) , there is only 1-2 compute error per card after one week running. I don't know how to identify the bad one.

if the OS crashes then you will need a smart outlet for remote control. I have all my rigs on the tplink HS110 it also has energy monitoring built in.

Well if windows hangs then you can't do anything else but restart the machine physically.
Maybe you should lower a little bit your overclocking settings so it won't hang ?

Is it possible to set up a forcerestart windows 10 when the miner crash? Every miner crash I lost remote access (teamviewer, google remote) to the mining RIG and I need to acces physically to the rig for shutdown.

API in SRB changed on every release?

I use minerstat switcher for this rig (this is my PC in fact...) which cannot reach old api requirements (which change on every release too)....

I was getting about 100h/s less on my ASUS 580 8gb on v1.7 until I changed my worksize and fragments to 16 now I'm back to what I had under previous versions.

Vegas and 560's all hash higher under 1.7 with the same settings as 1.6.8.

4gb ellesmere cards are better on 170, only the 8Gb cards do that magical hashrate game.
On previous versions you had sometimes to wait for a few hours to get all cards hashing at for example 1100hs, and even then sometimes they never reached to that maximum.
For some the gpu-z tricks worked, for some not. I managed to make that hashrate 90% stable on 170, so no need to start the miner X times to maybe reach a maximum hashrate, and no need for gpu-z tricks.
So you get a little lower hashing speed, but it is much more stable.

I had the similar issue with my RX580's 8gb, 1090hr with 1.6.9 vs 1050hr with 1.7.0...after a while I noticed that the "fragments" wasn't set the same as in 1.6.9. After setting the fragments manually to 64 i got slightly increased hashrate to 1138. Also noticed that 1.7.0 version needs more time to reach the highest hashrates.

Please indicate in the description to the miner on which cards it is intended
and can work without problems
as indicated in the description of other miners
and also indicate that you do not need to support the optimization of older maps in your miner so that people will not wait and use

RX 570/580 8GB's are pulling 1.1k+ on heavy easy, on low clocks 1.200Mhz or below.

You're doing something wrong dude, unless you're running 1.100Mhz clocks at very low voltages.

Right now I am mining haven with 1.68 using gpu:

1. Asus rog  rx 580 8gb ==> 1.7.0 lower hashrate (1010 vs 1050)
2. Sapphire Nitro/Pulse 570/580 8GB ==> 1.7.0 lower hashrate (8xx-9xx vs 9xx-10xx)
3. Sapphire Nitro 470/480 4GB ==> not tested, I think the result will be the same
4. Asus rog rx 480 8gb ==> not tested
5. MSI Gaming 470 4GB ==> not tested
6. XFX 470 4GB ==> not tested

what I like on v1.7.0 is a lot stable compared to 1.6.8, but the hashrate is lower.

since v1.68 is  the best for my rig, will you in the next release (1.71 maybe) to add an argument to run SRBminer to choose optimization 1 (1.68) , 2 (1.69), 3 (1.7.0), so everybody happy ... can use all program improvements you have made and mining new algos? OR better if you can make combined optimization from 1.68 1.69 1.70 with the best result for all
