GoldCoin (GLD) is certainly one of the most stable Altcoins. And it's Segwit free! Kiss

This 4-year-old coin has proven its resilience time and time again. It's up another 8% again today against Bitcoin.

This is an article posted earlier today talking about more stable altcoins. Obviously there is less upside with coins like these, but I wondered what everyone thought?

I find NEM, LSK, and ARK to be stable altcoins.

No stable altcoins at the moment, everything on fire, run for your life.

The only stable coin is Theter, its value is pegged to USD, so it can never fluctuate much.

an stable altcoin is as useless as tits on a nun!

by definition an altcoin aka a cryptocurrency is supposed to be a currency, a decentralized one. i don't know of any cryptocurrency apart from bitcoin and a tiny bit litecoin to be used as a currency for real. (i am not talking about those that pretend it). so it doesn't matter if it is stable or not. if it really were used as a currency then stability was a great perk.

with the currency part null, the only usage is as for trading and making profit. and stability is making that null and void. we are all looking for profit, even those who are not admitting it.

I don't see any point for a coin to be very stable with no growing. A coin I would recommend for it's stability and potential growing would be Diamonds.

Coins being stable is one essential part of it being used as a currency. Profits are always but with highs also comes lows, for a day to day use currency stability is fairly essential.

With the current state of Bitcoin, the whole cryptocurrency market is in turmoil and no altcoin could be considered stable at the moment. With that being said, I will pick XRP and Waves as my favorites for 'stable altcoins' as they have proved their worth in the past and continue to do so. OmiseGO is another token which is looking great amidst all the disarray with stable growth.

Frankly, I think it makes no sense in stable coins. Why should I buy a stable coin if I can buy bitcoin with the hope of growth?

I would choose for litecoin, it is now cheap and has the potential to rise and double his amount. While litecoin is not falling so hard. It is actually gaining more growth.

Bitcoin is now falling we see that bitcoin today is at the price of 3800. It dropped from 4600 dollars.

After cryptocurrency banned in china all cryptocurrency at these time are not stable. some might drop down to the bottom. some might survive. Because of that no cryptocurrency has yet stable.Im waiting for the right time to buy some coins that i think good to buy. Coins that has community backup will live more longer than hype coins. Do more research and pick good coins to invest. Hope all going good at the end.

Don't fall for altcoins at a moment as anything is possible with its price in coming days and it can even crash badly so its a big risk to invest in altcoins right now so the best thing would be to invest in bitcoin as price is relatively low and in long run it will surely bounce back.

the effect of banning cryptocurrency in china is very high to the price of all coins. the effect will result in the unstable price of the coin.
may have to be patient in advance to be able to make the coin prices stable and can maximize buy and sell coins.

I haven't seen any altcoin that has been stable for a long time and if its stable and you have invested in it then you will never make good profits from it so if you are into trading and if you have invested in any coin then price volatility should be mandatory to make timely profits.

Volatility is the price for the chance of gaining a profit. Using a "stable" altcoin (or a "stable" stock or other asset) will eliminate the chance to grow. But there are some alts (especially Verge, Monero and other coins that offer secret payments) that can grow even if most other alts are falling. Of course they also have their volatility.

in my opinion, waves and stratis are the most stable coins in these conditions. Waves has a good decentralized exchange and has good future due to many icos shifting to its platform due to many hacking issues with eth platform.

There can be a lot of value in a coin that has volatility around a stable average price... this would be perfect for trading as you could almost guarantee great entry and exit points.

But if it has low volatility as well as a stable average then no, I can't see any point at all beyond using it as a safe haven when the whole market turns red. But if you're going to do that, then just used a pegged crypto such as Tether.

If you are talking of stable value and rank then you will have your complete viewing at coinmarketcap.com for your complete details and stable trend referrence. But if you are asking if the value of altcoins are stable then we couldn't determine that because there are many kinds of altcoin that we have now and many more are coming. Altcoins have different path and characteristics therefore we cannot make their value a centralized one and declare it a stable or not. May you should ask what coin are stable?
