I'm staking a new address now, and although I can still sign a message from the old address, I don't want to rely on it anymore.

Noted. I find this easy is to do, I will do it as soon as possible. I'm very thankful for your replies.

Just stake a new address here and sign a message stating that you changed your address from __________ to _________ to put it on record. Much better if you also sign a message using your old staked address to confirm that its really you and you want to change your address to a new one just to make sure that we are still dealing with the same person user and not someone who bought an account.

You can post you new staked address here and also it will be helpful if you can sign a message from your old staked address. I think you would be able to do that if you have your private key.

Adders quoted and basically you are good to go, however it is advised to sign this address with your wallet software, just to be sure you will be able to do this in the future. Here you can find a tutorial.
