Yeah, you can. You can only sign from legacy addresses though, since Ledger doesn't support signing + SegWit.
Here's an example of messages signed using two segwit addresses:

Both are native segwit, so I don't think they can be verified with brainwallet, you'll have to use Electrum. Thanks in advance.
I know it's possible, it's just not possible with a Ledger.
