Today i received an email from [email protected] with this object "Cent21, your VIP boost is live for three days!".

I just want to be sure that this is not a phishing attempt as the link appear to be a little strange... it point to api.mixpanel ecc.ecc.

Someone from stake could confirm this is official?
Stake does email people time to time ( I remember getting about 70 doge or so once) but that doesn't mean you should trust the email blindly.

yes . in my case , i recieve some xrp but they are too small so i just max them out and loose them all . i also recieve a vip boost for three days but i dont opened the link yet . dont know if its worth to try or not  .

this isnt kind of a phishing mail because the mail looks legit  ,it has a unique mail name of stake and also have some images . its easy to detect fake mails or phished mails though as well as phished websites and all of them will also head straight on the spam folder .

You do not need to open the link for the hourly boost, simply open the site and click Cashier then you'll find the boost as I have posted a screenshot few days back. If you are an active player then I believe the amount of the boost is worth enough to claim every hour. At least it is bigger than usual faucet as per my own experience but obviously the amount depends on your activity.
This is exactly how they explained it to me when I asked their support person (luckily I got the general manager in the chat called vladimir) about the mega boost system and how it worked. He said think of it like a faucet which you can claim every hour.
I also asked how are the amounts calculated when giving out these hourly claims? His response was they are from the wagering done of the previous weekly totals and does not change during the three day duration.
But from my understanding not all vip members receive these hourly mega boosts and this is just a trial run given. They are for gold and platinum members only. But during this weeks introduction of the new system they gave it out to non vip members as well. Seen players without stars saying they received the emails and are claiming these hourly boosts too.
I am imagining this will change once this round of three days are completed that only the higher ranked vip members will only receive them.

Thats right not all are eligable for hourly mega boost I think this trial will know those active player to none active player but I'm thankful I receive a xrp bonus plus hourly mega boost to my account.

Stake does email people time to time ( I remember getting about 70 doge or so once) but that doesn't mean you should trust the email blindly. You can always check the link with your own typing as well, so go to stake.com, also go to the link, claim whatever bonus it says like free 5 bucks or whatever, than check your other real stake.com that you went to, it should be updated, if that is updated than you can trust it, if not than it was a fake one and do not deposit any money.

For example, faucet was good for that, I would use the faucet to see if that is the case of not. 2FA is also great too in this regard, you would claim faucet and see if its claimed on both sides to see if that is legit or not, however stake decided to remove faucet for some reason like they don't have enough money to pay for it.

Given that the numbers don't have to be consecutive, I think the chances if hitting a 10,15 or 20 isn't that bad at all. I'd say the odds are pretty good and that's what I like about this competition, is that it is not impossible to win Wink

I received this email as well and I have clicked the link as usual as I believe it is not phishing attempts. I clicked and I received 288XRP coupon code. When you are not so sure about any emails like this in the future then you can use the live support chat to ask. I'm quite sure they will tell you whether the email is official or not.

This megaboost promotion is real and was mentioned in their last live stream during the saturday megarace done by one of the owners.
They said the promotions would be given out by players registered email address on the site.
To receive this amount of xrp were you vip for very long and were active in the past week when they first introduced these hourly megaboosts?

Why are you thinking not to join the vip rank? What are the disadvantages in becoming a vip?

Thanks
From what i've read about their vip ranks there's no disadvantage they even gave me a $20 coupon but in order to become a vip you need to reach a specific wagered amount.

I don't gamble very often on casinos that's why I said it, It might be a waste now since i'm not always active but could be helpful in the future since they'll be having a sportsbook.

It's not a waste because you get it permanently even with you being inactive.
As it's yours for ever and it will never be revoked.

how much is usually the wagered amount needed for vip ?

True we should not force ourselves just to be VIP, just play normally like what we usually do and if we reach the minimum requirement for the VIP then lets just call it as a bonus. But now the VIP bonus condition is changed since few weeks ago, as it now based on our last week activity while it was fixed no matter how much we have wagered during the week.

Email phishing attempts have been around far longer than crypto has been around, even before 2008 there was people getting emails of users from some websites (lets be honest 10-20 years ago security wasn't as good as today) and than posed as that website with some @ending.com that looked like actually the website and people clicked and signed in and realized they couldn't, at that moment the hacker would just get it and than use it to sign in from the real place and just took out everything that person had.

Thankfully there is now 2fa and sms and other stuff that keeps your stuff safe, that way you can be gullible and give your password to people but at least will be a bit more safe thanks to 2FA like stuff, you can still be hacked if the hacker is online and asks for your 2FA looking like real website and than use it for the original website at the same time but that is highly unlikely and very difficult.

2FA generally helps you when you get some malware or virus on your computer and the hacker has your username and password. They can't login because they don't have the correct 2FA.

Phishing sites are different. With a Phishing site if you think its a real site you will send your username, password and when asked for 2FA you will send it also since it usually asks for 2FA when logging in. Then depending on which casino site you are talking about , some have additional layer of 2FA where they ask for another 2FA code or the site admin might flag the withdraw if its going to a different BTC withdraw access and coming from a different IP from a different country.

One way to tell if you got a phishing site or not is just put in a fake username and fake password and if it asks for 2FA then its most likely a fake site. This is why its best to bookmark your casino links and never click any links in email.

That email from Stake was most likely not a fake email because it seemed like a "fair" promotion. If the promotion was something like "Send 0.01 BTC and get back 1.00 BTC" then it should be common sense to most that its a scam. Similiar to all those fake twitter posts.
