Is Tman still around? I haven't seen him posting for ages. He didn't strike me as the sort of guy who would hide himself away. Smiley
I see him actively/silently giving merits to people but not making many posts around I guess. I admire his attitude although at the very beginning I used to thought he swears a lot LOL
I even had a stupid topic(you know those early days activities smile) which I do not want to bring here (teeth seeing smile)
Right he is one of the most generous recent merit senders

2434: suchmoon
2364: QuestionAuthority
1566: TMAN

and I see his post history is mainly in Economy section recently.

I think it is no problem and actually good for new members.  TMAN has been also making effort in the same line, asking questions and awarding merits, and found new nullius.

As long as you find good quality, spot on, constructive answers - in my mind, I do not see any problem. At-least you are not practicing giving away merit for reporting posts to moderators.

update:
While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.
This was the whole theme behind giving merit, wasn't it?

I've just started this thread on the beginners board -
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/earn-merit-by-telling-us-about-the-dangers-in-using-3rd-party-wallets-4522043

In it I ask posters to describe the dangers inherent in using 3rd party wallets. Do you think that it is a good idea to start topics like this? I'm a bit reluctant to start threads asking for the submission of meritable posts, as I'm not sure they contribute to the forum, and they can lead to a form of begging. Hopefully the topic I've started will be of benefit to new members, and it may also lead to some of them searching for information about wallets.
