Why do we need Steam when we can download games for free on different sites? This Steam business is very smart. They take old games and start reselling it expensive to make profit without any difficult. There are a lot of games people already bought in the past on shops (those games with magazines), and now they must buy it again from Steam...

There are another ways to play online and for free, but people want to be a part of the fashion and re-buy games to look VIP. Bitcoins can buy more interesting things than reselled games on Steam.

Basically the main purpose of users purchasing games in steam is simple. Unlike those games that you were talking, yes you can consider some of them are good but when it comes to steam games comeone dude they are just too good and take note there are also free games from steam  Wink , but usually people bought steam credits not to download a game but to enhance their game experience.(eg. Dota2 Items)

Looks like steam is finally going to accept bitcoin!!!!

http://cointelegraph.com/news/steam-to-accept-payments-via-bitcoin-in-its-next-update

Curious if that will affect the people selling games on the bitcoin talk? And the various other websites you can buy steam at.
Have been waiting for this, great news.

Its already accepted for a long time right now so I do not think that you are really reading this post to be honest, its already accepted for a while..

Steam is accepting the bitcoin and that is not really known these days so that is pretty funny, the prices here on the forum are also much better so its logical that it will not really affect the market right now.

What price here on forum are you talking about? People selling games/keys on digital goods?

I think you can save more with steam discounts and promotions.

Steam is still very high with their prices compared with as a example G2A, I think that the market did not change and I agree with the person that its cheaper here on the forums than on steam itself!!
Are you mean about discount keys in here are called by some people? I think if that's just unused key's by the owner and trying for selling them for cheap.
But what's your mean about more cheap steam product or others?

This is like buying an netflix account here for $1... You have no ensurance...

About ontopic now: It's a small step, at least we have where to spend the bitcoins to have some fun.

Yes we can now also spend it on steam itself so that is nice but its not used a lot so that is the downside because the market here is cheaper with games.

not sure it will give more impact in bitcoin price, but it's will make bitcoin famous, and make gamer easy to deposit at steam

It will give an impact for the price of bitcoin, because the more the people that will use it then it will make the demand of it higher. So I can say that steams acceptance of bitcoin will make the price affected. And I guess, there are a lot of gamers who are using that platform, steam and knows how to use bitcoin for buying their games and ingame items.
The demand and the the coins into circulate make the new interest means nothing into the bitcoin value, in the future the demand should make some effect at bitcoin, but currently it isnt making nothing besides allow transactions for games.

I guess it does not really affect bitcoin. from the first steam accept bitcoin as a legitimate payment, I never felt a big change that occurred. yah i only conclude that only a small fraction bitcoin users who are constantly using steam, or using other payment methods to do so, because they are better kept bitcoin they sought from the use

The only advantage is that the players can now use bitcoin to buy the games, and sell them with lower fees, besides that it hadnt made any impact into bitcoin value, even knowing that games does milions of dollars.

Yes this is a advantage but the fact is that the price stays the same so this is why the market is not affected these days.

With the possibility of bitcoin going higher and higher in terms of fiat I doubt there are many people trying to buy in steam many games with bitcoin I will prefer to use fiat instead.
if that so,you really don't take advantage of bitcoin's price rising and unfortunately that's such a waste,if you think that bitcoin will be always rising in the future then it seems that you will not spend your bitcoin for about next 100 years because you will always think the price might rising LOL,that's just sick
Spending your bitcoin while they have a high price compared to fiat is just a way to take advantage of the situation, I prefer to invest it which is just another way to take advantage of the price, and BTW no one ever said anything about holding for 100 years don't put words in my mouth.

well you cant  force  anyone  to spend their bitcoin into somethings , they have their  own  will and decision  regarding  on his coins. It  may be sick  or not  for  us  but we cant really do  anything about it.
@topic. , steam bitcoin adoption wont  really affect  forum market at all.

If your own idea is to save base on discount and promo the i think is not the right idea because not all of the time they give discount or make promo on their srrvices ese you will have to be waiting for long before you get the dicount you want. just use the digita goods section to save your time and money.

I disagree about this to be honest because of the fact that the games that are sold on here are way cheaper than on steam itself, you should take a look if you do not believe this.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look on digital goods to see the prices.

My doubt here is: is it safe? because the seller know the key too.
I dont know how those steam does work, but here you can protect yourself using escrow into any transaction you do online, better pay a fee then loose to a scammer any ammount, then allow me to understand those thing about the code, at yobit we can create and use the codes just once i do believe steam is the same way.
