I always think that salary, saving, and investment is a kind of personal matter, and it is private. Other than that we have more risk of being targeted by criminal if we occasionally sharing about how much is our networth. If we are not an influencer I don't think there is any benefit of sharing about our investment, even most of the time those influencers are not completely honest about their investments their just looking for engagement.

Sharing about what we own or what we are buying is fine I guess, but sharing how much do we own or its value it's never a good thing.

Being transparent about these things can be harmful to you in a multitude of ways.
Transparency with people must be in specific matters and not in financial matters, private matters, a person's investments, the amount of Bitcoin and other assets he holds, and which wallets or exchanges he uses to hold or trade his assets. These are sensitive details that nobody, whether close or distant, should be acquainted with; we do not know what he will do after receiving these details, information, and transparent answers from the speaker. He may try to target him in various ways and set traps or steal his wallet's security information. Some listeners harbor jealous and malicious intentions, only wishing to harm and steal from others or to spread fear and anxiety in transparent individuals to make them sell the amount of Bitcoin they have to them at a loss. Every person must make his investment private, not public, and not tell anyone the amount of Bitcoin they have, as there is nothing to gain from revealing this except drawing attention to themselves.

People frequently ask "How many bitcoin do you have?" once they find out you're into bitcoin simply because they can't really grasp the "moneyness" factor of it; instead, they think it's some collectible like some rare Pokemon cards hence why they probably think it's fine to ask.
Well said. This explains why people are more likely to ask how many bitcoins you have than how much you have in your bank account.
Ha! I see them a lot in TikTok and Facebook reels. These kids don't know what they are doing, just for the sake of attempting to make the video viral.

If you don’t want other people to get into you, then don’t try to ask them way beyond their personal lives. And asking like how many bitcoin do you have is not an exception. Bitcoin is an expensive investment and one is supposed to keep it privately and not to share its details to everyone you know. So know what to ask or let’s just say don’t ask anymore if you think that’s already invading one’s privacy.

Now, telling other people your achievements in life like owning bitcoin is like allowing other people to intrude in what you have. You know it’s better to live like a fool and a pauper and that people will think that you are useless and incapable than to boast what you currently have and face danger in the future as we can’t expect that people around will be always kind to us.

I agree that it should be secret information about our investment. Telling how much Bitcoin we have, is something very careless way. If we want to make people to be motivated, why don't tell them about the success history of popular people. It is the wrong way to tell a very secret information related to the number of investment or private data about it.

We mustn't feel to be transparent to other people when it is related to private matters. People must be always curious about any we have. They will never stop to ask any information about us. In this matter, we must understand which information that deserve to tell to others and which one should be never shared to others.

besides, being discreet with your crypto activities will give you peace of mind and not looking over your shoulder every time. as there are so many bad actors over the net, you don't know who is lurking about your activities. who knows, somebody is keeping track of all your activities and just waiting for you to make a mistake.

I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!

Ha! I see them a lot in TikTok and Facebook reels. These kids don't know what they are doing, just for the sake of attempting to make the video viral. They even get mad if they are ignored, well, I hope a lot more people will ignore this kind of stupidity because it is d*mn contagious. I've started seeing videos circulating around the social media with the same content and they are from country. I'm also actually waiting for someone who will say they own bitcoin lol.
It is the social media that causes these people to flex their financials and I hate to see it become the latest trend. I'm not wishing for something bad will happen for the people who's into this kind of trend, but it's just alarming because they are like inviting bad people to put them on their on own whitelist LOL!

Whatever assets or wealth you have, own it privately and never disclose it to the public, otherwise people will develop envy and create plans that will attack and do harm you. Ignore those social media influencers wherein they keep bragging what they have, we don’t know actually if they are telling the truth or not, as their intention is to create hype and develop million viewers on their content. Instead, live a simple life, and pretend like you have nothing when you almost have everything in life. That’s the safest option to be always protected in this cruel world.

Most people will criticize and look you down when they know that is your working salary (small). So I let people around me make their assumptions rather than telling the truth about me because people become happy when they see someone below them and get jealous when they know you have a lot of money. Yes, it is better not to share with anyone (even your relatives), keep it secret so they won't suspect you are rich and rob you. We don't need to get their attention but rather think we are poor and empty as it was still fine. They never own our lives, so it was not necessary to tell them the truth.

Your financial info is private and should always remain that way.  I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!

I would say keeping secret of everything either it is your seed/private and your bitcoin holdings should be looked at as part of the principles of bitcoin. I don’t get why someone who actually uses bitcoin for anonymity sake will be flaunting their holdings in the name of social media trends.

The increase in the price of Bitcoin is bringing much attention to the sector. Telling someone that you own the currency will bring unnecessary attention. And the issue is that most people are not aware that you can buy Bitcoin with any amount so they might think that you own one bitcoin and above. Apart from some close family members nobody knows that I own Bitcoin.

To be honest even your crypto mentor or tutor isn’t allow to know the amount of bitcoin you hold, because you never can tell, he might not keep the secret and probably share with others that can not be trusted. So even if a your tutor ask don't tall them about your holdings, they are not in a position to also know that

People have curiosity about Bitcoin which is very common. But why a person would really want to know about your finances is certainly questionable. Newbie often ask such questions, a person can also ask questions to get to know others can ask such questions to know whether you have bitcoins or not and to get an idea about your financial situation. But as a bitcoiner, almost all of us know how important it is to avoid these questions. Moreover, one of the purposes Bitcoin is designed for is anonymity. In my opinion any question asking about personal finance and not just Bitcoin is best ignored. Almost everyone knows of instances where he has been victimized after informing others about his financial situation. Both knowing and asking about the financial affairs of others should be avoided.

The only person who asked me the amount of Bitcoin I own is the person who introduced me to the sector. Besides him, I don't think anybody has asked me such questions because they know nothing about my Bitcoin adventure. I have read some sad stories in which people were attacked and even robbed because they disclosed that they owned Bitcoin. I prefer to keep my holding secret so that I will not get unnecessary attention.

Bitcoin is achievement
This has been my advice to my people in my geographical environment concerning cryptocurrency investment and cryptocurrency holders you are not permitted to expose the amount of Bitcoin you have in your storage because when everyone know the amount of Bitcoin you have it may lead them to track your wallet or to trace your system in order to penetrate to your wallet or your user, so it is good for you to keep whatever thing you have through a cryptocurrency in secret so that you want to be hacked at any point in time all assassinate for them to inherit whatever thing you have self in your crypto wallet

I frequently question why someone would try to find out how much money I have in my bank account or how much Bitcoin I own. To be honest, I don't care to impress others with how wealthy I am. Those that easily respond to these kinds of inquiries seem to be looking for public approval or recognition, in my opinion. They overlook the possible harm that could result from sharing such informations.Speaking honestly about our value can make us the target of jealousies and unwelcome attention. Many people ignore this ongoing risk to our security and possessions in their pursuit of approval from others. It's crucial to bear in mind that maintaining our privacy and maintaining the secrecy of our financial affairs can prevent needless problems and ultimately safeguard our wellbeing.

It's always a trend to know how much someone owns as that's how curiosity is. But it's true that we don't have to be vulgar with this kind of matter because it's more of a personal info that we shouldn't disclose to anyone.

You're putting yourself as well into danger of being wrench attacked by someone through this disclosure of how much you earn. And much worse about threatening your life and being kidnapped.

People might think that it is too much and exaggerated, no. It's not exaggerated and if it's too much, it truly is because it's about your safety.

This is tricky because people will often ask you about bitcoin and if you own some and I like to talk about it because bitcoin is a part of my life, my hobby, so I want to talk to people and share what I know.
In a discussion it often comes to them asking so you've been around for a long time, how much do you still have, or how much did you have in year X and I want to tell them because it's a part of this narration that we all used to have a lot but we didn't value it as much as we should have.

Anyway, I understand what the problem is with telling people how much you own, but at the same time when you don't say anything it's going to cut the conversation short because most people will feel like you have too much and are afraid to talk about it because you're a millionaire. I had people ask me if they should buy, if I'd help them buy, how much to invest and it always ended bitter because I didn't want to get involved.

Farewell, Leo
I'd take it to the next level and suggest to stop talking about Bitcoin with your friends in general. It draws unnecessary attention. Malicious people don't need to know the exact amount of bitcoin you have, as long as you're into it (well, unless you have quite a lot!). If you know that they know you own bitcoin, you should regard yourself a target, just as with owning any other financial asset, like gold, jewellery, stocks.

them: "how many bitcoin do you have?"
me: "how much money do you have in your bank account?"
That doesn't work if they don't have a decent amount of money in their bank, I can assure you!  Grin

I just wanted to share a piece of advice that I learned early on from Andreas Antonopoulos (if you don't know whom this is, I highly recommend looking up his YouTube page and watching his videos and or reading his book Mastering Bitcoin) never tell anyone how much bitcoin you have.  Andreas use to say it's not our job to teach everyone we know about bitcoin, letting them know we own some "Let that be my job" he would say.
It doesn't make sense to make people know the amount of bitcoin you are holding for security reasons. If I am teaching someone about bitcoin, no matter how close the person is, I will never use my main wallet to teach the person about bitcoin, I have a wallet with i have no bitcoin in it, that's what I do use to explain about bitcoin to people I know. Don't think that because you are close to someone, you can tell them about your holdings, it's not safe to do that, the amount you hold should be known to only you.

I see so many people that come around here sharing how much bitcoin they own...don't.
I have seen a lot of posts like that on the forum here, most of them will make a screenshot of when they are purchasing bitcoin, and they will decide to post it here, which doesn't make sense to me. I am not against posting that you purchased bitcoin and you are planning to encourage other people, but when doing that, always make sure you blur the part that is showing the amount of bitcoin that you purchased, at least nobody will know the amount of bitcoin that you are holding.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
I find it strange that some people share the amount of Bitcoin they own with friends or relatives, hoping to encourage them to invest or teach them about Bitcoin. Their reason is often that they don't feel confident teaching about it without a demonstration. However, this is not an appropriate way to handle confidential assets. Revealing the amount of Bitcoin you own to other people is not advisable.
