atm im spending only bitcoins for my seedbox lease & steam account, havent find anyother decent places to spend them..
I think holding the bitcoins and storing it could be profitable for the holders if the price increase as expected. We need sometimes to spend some of our stored coins but there is no problem about holding the remaining, in my opinion.
That is really the use of storing of bitcoins. Is to get profit once the price goes up. Because we can get profit from it.

If I acquire 10btc and slowly spend them, so that I spend 2btc a year then that is better than constantly exchanging fiat for btc to spend and giving money to payment processors like Visa or exchanges like Coinbase.

Well storage is part of every kind of currency. It's important to be able to store value.
It is true that to be able for one currency to be adopted by people is to use it. Which includes spending, selling, purchasing it. Holding isn't part of it but investors try to hoard things to make it inflate in price. Which causes more problem than gain. Only a few people can benefit from hoarding BTC, this is where rich get richer. We can't blame them

Sure, Bitcoins are useful when they remained stored because you can gain lots of profit when theres a price increase. But thats only if you use it; you cant keep Bitcoins forever.
