This is the Strategy I was following in crypto. This is the example.

buy coin 300A @1.00 = 300

Sell 150 @2.00 (Now you covered your initial investment(Excluding fee))
Sell 50 @3.00 = 150
Sell 50 @4.00 = 200
Keep remaining 50 for long term( If market is crashing you have to sell this proton immediately).

But this method can't apply if the market crash before it reaching to 2x. I would like to know the approaches/Strategies you are following and drawbacks of this method.

Congratulations, good job on being able to make a strategy on how you will invest as early as your what your rank is in this forum. Although I do not know if you already have a background on investing into cryptos or any other investments before joining here, I really find it amazing that you really have studied a lot about cryptos which has then paid off because you now are able to device a plan on how to invest.

Just a hint though, be careful with this strategy of yours because sooner or later it will fail if you do the exact same thing with every coin/token that you get your eyes on. It is better to be prepared always and understand that not every coin is alike and that cryptos can be predictable today but a completely different story tomorrow and become very unpredictable. But don't worry, you will eventually get the hang of this. And when that time comes, then you will know what to do easily when an opportunity comes. It will somehow be natural to you and be just like an instinct.
This skill can only be learned by experience. You might see a lot of advises and more, but at the end of the day, none of them will be the one accountable for your loss or gains. So be sure to take notes in every experience you get through so you can be able to create you own decisions and be more confident with them every time. hope this helps. Smiley

Most people do buy and hold which is great in most cases. Any day trade, swing trade strategy requires substantial amount of time in front of computer which does not work well for most people as they all have to go to work and can't watch the price most of the time.

I'm a big believer in BTC so my strategy which has worked for me to date, is research and buy an alt coin. Set a x3 alarm against BTC investment and when (or if) it goes up sell 80% of holdings back to BTC. Repeat process but remember to keep 20% of each coin in the event they moon!

Setting up the price change alert in many wallet and crypto price analyzing sites but most of the people does not using this option at all. I really happy that member person doing this and watching the price changes carefully. May be you are trader and monitoring the price changes in the chart.

I see that bitcoin price was 18k and more but this continous dump shows the drastic changes in the complete price chart. Now we can invest on bitcoin directly and buy as much you can to make the more money.

I 'll get 50% of coins when it's x1.5. But if it go down, i'll buy one time on profit money. The crypto market will be grow anyway.  Cheesy  I like global diversification.

A good strategy, I carry out these actions in small quantities, but we know that each currency is a different strategy and the market can make them relative and not every currency has the potential for large investments, everything will depend on the technical analysis combined with fundamentalist analysis, will depend also on the exchanges and fees.

Best strategy is (SSS) - A Sane and Simple bitcoin Savings plan https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sss-a-sane-and-simple-bitcoin-savings-plan-345065   Is pretty similar as yours just a bit more detailed and there is no long term altho you keep holding some part of the investment forever.

Dont forget to consider taxes in your stratagy. I think the safest investment method is to diversify amongst cryptos and hdol long term. At this point no one knows which cryptos will be th “google” or “amazon” of the space. No currencies have proven themselves in the real world to people outside this space

I try to follow this tactic

1. Start small - as crypto-currencies are still a fairly new technology. The optimal investment is 1% -5%.
2. Do not sell too fast - even if the investment has grown by 20% or even 30%.
3. Do not panic - crypto-currencies are extremely unstable, and their rate can vary from 20% to 50% in one day.

There will be a few cryptocurrencies that will be great investments. Bitcoin has already shown us the potential.

But the majority of coins will fade away. Since nobody knows which ones will be huge winners and which ones will be epic fails, I believe that the best investment strategy is to have a portfolio of currencies.

Putting all of your eggs into one basket might be a disaster. You don't have to understand every single technical detail of each currency. However, you should read a lot about a currency that you want to invest in and make a very informed decision.

My strategy in crypto is first they crypto must be good and you can say that it will go through time so I can keep the coin first because some coins that are less have much more value in it. So, If i have a coin I'll keep it first because I read in some info that the less size of the token has a chance to sell in a higher value. Less size, High price.

There are two ways to invest in cryptocurrencies. One is the long-term investment and the other is a short-term investment (trading).

Especially for beginners, in my own perception of understanding this crypto business, I suggest that one should go for a long-term investment with minimum amount spared out of your regular income. Invest in new crypto coins which can give you a good return in the long-term process. The market may go up to any level in one year and there may be great slump next year. So, try to gain some knowledge and advice from experienced investors and study yourself the market reports, then, carefully choose your coins. Nobody knows what is going to happen in future.

I prefer 50 for Bitcoin investments and 50 for real businesses like opening a clothing or food store.
We never know that Bitcoin will be everyone's choice and the price remains stable. the worst risk of bubbles, even if it's just a FUD smelling issue.

everyone has different strategies but they are all the same ie wanting to earn a profit and want to leave some coins for the future if the price goes up higher and yes for the trading I use is buy some coin which has the potential to rise up to 75% of the assets I have and the remaining 25% I use just in case.

I use strategy, buy and hold. Rarely traded within the day. Much safer to buy them and keep. In this sense, I am an investor.

i will get 50% when it's x2, then hold. if it crashed, i will buy more and wait for it to recover and then sell 50% again.
i always left the half as long term if i have faith in that coin.

My strategy is to makenit 50-50. I will invest 50% for the ICO and another 50% for Btc, but first I have to research which ICO I'm going to put my money in to make sure I will get ROI. I think it  is the best way to do before  investing into an ICO project. Proper knowledge can really help to gain profit.

I have a simple strategy.

I put 80% of my money on ETH and NEO to take advantage of long term growth.

I put 20% of my money onto altcoins. These investments will be on altcoins in 2 main category.. privacy coins and smart contract platforms.

And then some small money on a few interesting ICO.

In this way, my 20% portfolio will have a chance for exponential growth while my 80% portfolio will rise steadily over time.

Long term hold is good unless market face crash. If market is crash, your long term hold can purchase at lower price. That is the lesson I learnt from recent crashes.
Yes Investing in good ICO is fine. That is the safest method.
