Substratrum has NO product they literally took screenshots of iStat Menus for Mac and Photoshopped it.

When asked about it in their slack, this was their response:

Substratum is most certainly not a scam and I appreciate you saying it isn’t. The screenshots you see are actually screen captures from our MVP proof of concept running and were done by developers not designers and as most technical people know people who are great at one are not great at another so we did base our internal alpha off of iStat because at the time we were just trying to see if we could actually make the underlying structure work because that is the REALLY HARD part of this project at least since we are changing the way the internet connects.
We have brought a Design Lead on now and are TOTALLY redesigning the User Interface from the ground up so what you see in version 1 at the end of the year will look almost nothing like what you see here other than the options that you see will still be there.

THIS RESPONSE WAS MADE BEFORE THEY KNEW THAT I FOUND A HIGH RESOLUTION SCREENSHOT ON THEIR SITE PROVING WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT IT IS IN FACT PHOTOSHOPPED AND NOT SIMPLY A "proof of concept running and were done by developers not designers".

Guys for more information join the team slack. There are over 600 actives in there at the moment, this project is huge, and already raised well over 1.5 million.

Shift uses different protocol and different governance method. Is NOT the same.

Substratum lets you keep your domain name also without needing to have .maidsafe.com

So this goes much much deeper, from bottom to up to fix the centralized internet so i understand your frustration, that you are afraid your investments in shift or maidsafe could be affected by this. You both are big supporters of shift so is understandable why you are FUDding this thread, you see us as competition. You both have 30 post average almost all of those posts are shift thread posts.

That just looks like a phantom clone, the SHIFT dapp which be released on mainnet next month.

Shift does the same. Decentralised web and their product is already in testnet. Why should we invest in a clone?

Nodes earn fees through micro-transactions for each request they serve..

They are selected based on geolocation and which node(s) have the proper data to serve the request. 

The developers in the Slack seem pretty awesome.

It looks a bit fishy to me. Can you provide some proof of the working technology.. I don't say you are a scam, but I want more tangible stuff before I invest.

how the nodes earn fees? how they get selected? i dont see detail in white paper sorry.
