So many investors don't agree with you. Maybe you did something wrong research or maybe it's in my mind. Tron blockchain can be acceptable but definitely not XRP. I'm not an XRP hater, but since last year I haven't supported it anymore. So many coins are available in the long-term just trying to buy their own coin, other blockchain don't.

for $10k, I think it's quite worth it. a slight price change on the mentioned coin already makes a big profit, but also a decrease in it will create a sizeable loss. only, if it's $10k, I might choose to invest in BNB. I'm pretty sure a coin as good as that will cost at least $1k in the future. however, it doesn't matter if you choose the coin, because it is still a popular coin. less risk than others.

Both XRP and TRX coins are top coins in the coinmarketcap ranking list but if OP wants to speculate then should show some indicators why both coins should increase, OP is not proving anything here but connecting the scenario with last year's trading chart. XRP and TRX has huge supply, I don't think both were good investments maybe XRP is, because I've seen many articles about partnering the big companies but still I prefer to invest ethereum, binance coin and cardano with $10,000 because these are good for long term investments.
speciall for XRP it is potentially will repeat their problem with SEC till court decided. Personally i am prefer to avoid TRX due somereason especially TRX reputation that often dumped by dev team it self. Cardano will be enemy for ethereum if smart contract release, there are several platform that will head to head in crypto market. their value isnt high enough and investing lower than 10k could already give you hundreds or even thousands of coins . if i have bigger money say 10k the first thing that came to mind is investing in higher valued coins such as bitcoin .

For long term investment everyone needs to do their own research. But I'll say not to gamble with your long term investment as everyone put a handsome amount of money in it. Right now XRP is a gamble. Their case can go either side as SEC is not putting any loss hand on them. But trx can be a good one as their blockchain use case increases for low transaction cost and speed. But I personally not prefer TRX for long term.

TRX is my favourite when i do move assets from wallet to market and otherwise because small network transaction fee, and i think most of us do that to reduced the transaction fee. What we do make transaction volume getting big at marketcap, and as simple analyse, it will make the price getting high, IMHO.
So what OP said to choose TRX as long term investment is same with what i am thinking. I am hoarding TRX little by little from the rest of my transactions, it doesn't burden me, and I think it can be my savings at the closing price in 2021, i hope.

With XRP drama with SEC i am not confidence to hold it except with small portion in my bag. Since many fight againts SEC and not finished yet, i am worry if in future this problem will occur again. TRX is good token for long term investment but now SFP, BNB, BTC, ETH price also too low. i think thous token will give a better profit if we bought and and hold for long term. Do your own research and don't just rely on only one article that said that the prices of the said coins will be good. Do your own research on each coin and also, how do you know that this coin will yield a good profit margin, what's the basis for that, what's your evidence? There should be an evidence right?
Long term investment is good especially when we choose which or what would you invest and where to put our hard earn money, and the best way is to manage properly your investment for the sake of your future and learn to listen, attend some investment lectures to gain more knowledge in investing to make it profitable.

I have no such strong convictions for xrp and trx, what I am looking forward to see with huge potential is for bnb and eth holding long term. Profit gains can be achievable when time comes for good, but not within a short span of months. If you feel more comfortable with those coins that you had, just use 20% of the total funds that you have.

it seems not a good suggestion. TRX was losing its value gradually and the new token like axie was starting to grow even higher than before and it looks like axie is much more potential than TRX in term of the usability of token. You can also make a comparison between axie and TRX. It will be very easy to determine how any usefulness that being offered by axie infinity.
Try to take a look at the chart and is not it better to put it into the new NFT based project? this is much more promising than trx or even XRP
