Yes, someone who has good self-control, should stop it. Even if he wants to play again, he will do it the next day.
Sure, greedy people won't stop it, they expect to win more. But if people think realistically, they know that trying more have no guarantee to win again. Instead, playing more will make losing all the money got from winning previously.

We always say to control from losing but actually controlling ourselves when big profits are even more important and must be prioritized, even though we gamble for fun and just entertainment but when we get big profits then for me the right decision is to stop and withdraw funds to the wallet for some used for trading, but I went back to gambling for low funds the next day and was not greedy to use the high profit funds from the previous jackpot.

Whenever you do make use of a fund or money which is intended to wipe off your boredom then you wouldnt really care if you would lose or win.You would be minding on how to prolong such session

It does vary on a certain individual because there are really that times which we do mind off about on to make money and secure out but most cases we are playing more just to have more.
Stopping is something a main issue for most gamblers which you cant really that able to immediately do such action specially when you are already that greedy.

I voted Yes because my “gambling” is never tied to dollar amounts. If I were playing slots it would most likely be because I was extremely bored and didn’t feel like doing any real work. So it would have more to do with how much fun I was having and how much time I had to kill. If I doubled my money, I’d probably be having fun so I don’t think I would stop there.

Many people say that gambling is how to control yourself.
On the other hand, self-control is not only when we lose but when we gain.
Controlling ourselves when profit or loss is actually still a strategy in gambling because if we can't resist gambling even though we have made big profits or are actually losing, this is obviously very unfortunate considering this is a step we have to take.

It could be done if that person had good enough self-control that he would quit immediately after getting a big win. But unfortunately, after getting a big win, many gamblers forget to stop immediately and become greedy to get more wins. This makes them unable to feel the winning money because they will immediately use the money to play again in the hope of winning more money. And if they don't realize this, sooner or later, they will only feel another loss and nothing left from their last winning.

Even the most disciplined gambler when something ticks him, he will forget about all of those factors that you've mentioned because the situation depends on how tough your losses are. And if you've been doing well or not.

The best choice is to stop and you just call it the day. No matter how much you've won at the quick glance with your bets, double or more than that.

If you've made that much and you think that it's decent enough, there's no need to prove that you're lucky with your bets and just stop.

I would add to your words that when a gambler loses or wins a significant amount of money his emotional background increases significantly which can lead to incorrect perception of information which can further lead to irrational actions. This is why I would recommend gamblers and traders to take breaks at such moments so as not to make mistakes.   

I voted "idk" because it really depends on many things. If I win a significant amount of money(for me), like $50+ in one session, I usually stop because it's already a great experience and I don't want to ruin it. I know it can be even a better experience if I continue and win another $50, but, first, it won't be that much better because our brain releases lesser and lesser dopamine in our reward system to avoid dopamine intoxication, and secondly there's a good chance of another big win not happening, and even if I won't lose my initial win completely, I will be frustrated with losing my time on unprofitable spins.

But if I win $4-$5, I keep rolling until I lose it all or win more. When I have time for that, of course. There are times when I win just $2 and stop because I have other things to do. And I will be doing them in a happy mood because winning even as little as $2 makes me happy, at least for a little while, idk.

Thinking that it was your lucky day and you are unstoppable is the common mistake that I heard from other gamblers. Are you sure that this didn't screw you yet? But, how long you have been playing a gambling? Maybe it was only your early tries but the more you play and depend on that feeling, I am pretty sure that you will experience to fail miserably.

Nowadays I am mostly playing for entertainment and not for the profit therefore when I got lucky and win a decent amount in my early tries, I will definitely play more and I wouldn't regret it even if I lose the previous wins that I had. What important is that I enjoy playing the game longer than usual.

Playing gambling requires good observation, sensitivity, fast thinking and accurate decision, playing bets comes with opportunities in diverse means through which a gambler is expected to be sensitive enough to know when such time appears and taking a right decision after, but as for me, i will always advise to quit for that day whenever you make a big winning that gives you a good return than going bafk into it again and again for the same day, if not all the winning amounts then they would have collected back half of it, once a gamblers realized double of what he stake or beyond on a start, then it's wisdom to end the day that way and go home to think on what tangible thing you could use the money for in order of remembrance for that winning in the future, than making continuous attempts for another win while loosing.

yeah that's what I was trying to explain that I keep safe some of my funds at least more than the capital before pushing through and this made me a winner even if i lose everything aside from the safe keep amount.

Depends on the amount. If you have $50 capital, then I guess it's easier to make it double since you're not going to be afraid of betting it all on a single wager. And the answer should always be no for that kind of scenario.
However, regardless of the amount you have as your capital, gamblers won't just settle for having it their money doubled, coz they're always aiming for a more than 2x multiplier.

Greed will surely make us forget to control or remember our original target, which has happened to many gamblers. We certainly don't want to experience a similar incident so we really have to stop when we get a win. And that's why, in gambling, we have to have strong self-control so that we don't experience events like @OP experienced because when we win and forget to stop, those are probably the times we will experience losses.

This is really the typical scenario in gambling. Many people do not know how, when, and where to establish their boundaries. Some fail because they got too caught up with the satisfaction it brings to them. Some enjoy so much to the point that they no longer budget their funds and just spend continuously because it gives them the thrill and joy. While some fail to limit themselves because of the enticing winnings and profit they can get if they continue playing. It depends on what type of gambler you are and what keeps you betting. But both have the same fate because of impulsive betting - losing.

A lot of people are careless and perhaps naive. Most people are controlled by their emotions which is why there are many situations that can be prevented, but happened anyway such as being addicted in gambling and losing money. If only people are educted enough about financial literacy, gambling too much won't be in his vocabulary. Going beyond your allocated budget for gambling just because you won big time during the initial stage won't really be an enough excuse to gamble more. People like you easily fall on the trap of continuous cycle of gambling despite its repercussions because you are being blinded by the profit that isn't guaranteed. Blinded by the happiness it might bring despite the possible bad effects of gambling to your financial aspect and overall well-being. Remember, anything too much is dangerous. You shouldn't indulge in gambling because it is risky and addicting. You should only bet what you can afford to lose and learn when to continue and stop for your own good.

you forget with your early target earning profits and money from gambling. As gamblers profits moment was very rare ,maybe its 1:100 ratio but unfortunately when we met it suddenly forget. Greedy still  influence US so keeping rolling till finally our profits become lose . Enough it happen one time ,so in future we should not repeat it.

I wonder, is this expression for you personally, I don't know. but for sure if you like gambling, then make it a very fun entertainment so you will not be too obsessed with becoming a millionaire or rich overnight.

majority of votes says YES but they are just saying that as it is a question in general but if they are on the same boat? surely they will continue to play as it is a beginning of the betting and just got lucky.

there are several occasion when we have experience this but in the end? we lose everything.

we are being entertained because we are winning ., but once losing? we are playing because of eagerness to recover our losses and with that? the essence of gaming is gone for entertainment and then become total gambling.

As long as your spending does not go out of control I think it makes no difference, you could stop gambling after such a big win in order to feel like a winner during the rest of the day, some people prefer this approach as who does not like feeling like a winner?

However there is a case to be made about such a result having no effect at all and you could keep gambling, after all we gamble to get fun, and gambling just for a few minutes before you get your big win is probably not enough to satisfy most gamblers which want to get their fun this way.

This is easy to say but very difficult to do. As to gambling, most people who win don't quit immediately because they will want more like oliver twist. To get more is sweet and your emotion will get you there and you can't move out. I have experience of this with many people even you advise them to qiit but they will not because they like the increase of the money they have win but they get hooked up if they are unlucky.
