...
Can you help a (very excited) brother out?

Thanks very much.
John

[EDIT] I AM trying to catch up ... but I'm still about hundred pages behind.

1.  Disconnect PS from the miner.
2.  Make sure the paperclip (bare metal, not painted) is stuck between green & black wires.
3.  Turn on PS.
   A.  If it turns on & fan spins, go to 4.
   B.  If it doesn't, doublecheck the paperclip.  If nothing -> dead PS Cry
4.  Shut off PS, wait 30 secs, plug PS into *one board* of the the miner, try again.
   A.  If OK, repeat 4 with next board.
   B.  If not, unplug board & try next one.
5.  Post on how it goes.
& will talk you through from there Cheesy

Yeah yeah, it's totally green to black.

And yeah, I hear you on the fan not necessarily being indicative.
However, the lack of movement on the fans of the Jupiter would be - as I indicated.

Anyway, bummer.

Dead PSU out of the box sure seems unlikely. Oh well

Hey - I apologize profusely ... I imagine this HAS been answered before.

I was away for a week, just got back - and found my Jupiter waiting for me.

The problem is, can't get the thing to boot.

Have an XFX pro 1050W modular to run it.

Everything looks connected fine ... pci-e's are solid and the molex is in.
Paper clip tricked it on pins 4-5, 4-6, 4-whatever the one that's a row down and over is .... all with the same results .... PS fan and the jupiter fans spin for a sec, then nothing.

Not getting any lights, or anything else. That's it.

Now I'm wondering if I have a dead supply out of the box, which seems unlikely .... or if I'm simply fucking something up .... which sounds much more likely.

Can you help a (very excited) brother out?

Thanks very much.

yep, dead psu
make sure it was the GREEN wire, and the black one next to it.
the fan on the psu works = psu works
some psu fan might off when it is on a light load

Roughly one second.

I'm talking 1-3 revolutions of the fan.
It's on, then it's instantly off.

It's not even getting to boot, so can't see it being firmware.

This seems squarely a hardware / me screwing it up somehow-ware issue.

[EDIT] I AM trying to catch up ... but I'm still about hundred pages behind.

I had this exact issue when I first got mine. The issue is fixed by upgrading the firmware (which for me was stock to .95, but I'm sure going right to .97 will work too).

The challenge was getting into the web interface and then uploading/installing the firmware all before the unit shut off. How long does it typically stay on before it powers down again? I usually had about 60 seconds or so.

After tinkering with enabled cores in 0.95, then upgrading to 0.96 and then today to 0.97, my Saturn is currently outputting ~278Gh/s with all 100% of my cores enabled. My WU went up to just over 4,000/m and my flushwork issue has gotten much better.
278ghs is nice for saturn, two of my Jupiter WU get very close to 8k but they cant made it :-(

is something wrong here?Huh
did you try 0.95 and 0.97?
if it happen in all FW, you might need to give your miner more airflow

thanks for the input, but unlikely as both chips are well below 50c.

I don't know diddly, but I think its a software issue, hoping SOMEONE puts up an easy plain English for dummies on how to install and run BFGMINER.....

I think everybody has to start somewhere. There are always issues what you can't see in the future.

They made a good product, they hadn't stole our money, they had shipped close to time.

Show me an asic company how made the same.....

Of course they learned a lot and won't make the same issues at gen 2.

That my 2 c.

I assume you have received your miner?

Yes I have. And you will.

Not like Avalon or Bfl.....

I want to sell one of my jepiter
i have three of them and they are all running over 555ghs
pm if interested for more info or pic
accept bitcoin payment only (bank transfer to oversea costing too many time which is reducing you profit)

yea sure, yours are running 555+ while all others are below...
*I'd recommend to not make deals with this person without escrow*
you dont know the way to ask question that make you look like a fool

i got my Mercury today. very quiet at 100GH with 0.9.7 FW
120W/220v  !!!
great job KNC
i guess we cannot overclock it yet :p
so, you are happy with 100 gh/s?, even though it's 25 gh/s short?
guess many are.
all my saturns returned right back to their norms, but with slight difference...
256, 263, and 279. I really like the 279,....
but geeze. I feel like a squid broker after my first pump & dump.
ill live... I reccon.
but I would still like to fix the 256 saturn tho. when I use enablecores, it goes all the way up to 280 on 0.90 at first, but slows to 250
reflashing the firmware always has the same result on it, it always returns to 250, and takes hours to return to 255.
