September orders started shipping by September 30. I think November orders will start shipping, by November 30. Cool

If the powers that be go to adversely effect BTC, aside from having Washington DC make it outright illegal, they'll target BTC stability, pump and dump punishing investors again.

How can Washington do that? They are closer to being bankrupt than Greece.

They're not even remotely close to being bankrupt.  They have the worlds largest gold reserves, for example. The government shutdown was just a moronic stunt.
A gold reserves full of wolfram, even China do not want accept payment in gold from USA  Tongue maybe BTC from SR2

Are people near the front still waiting for their orders?  Or is October getting cleared out?

Looks like some are still waiting, but october delivery orders may be close to being all shipped:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/kncminer-list-of-orders-october-delivery-249065

Curious if KnC will start shipping november orders in october or if they will have to wait for components to arrive.

Just wanted to check whether everyone received your miners (100 BTC/Jupiter) so far, able to earn at least 75 BTC/Jupiter? Cool

Because next week, November miners due for release which are only 25 BTC/Jupiter.

So, what's the moral of the story? Huh
The moral is....     your math sucks. Btc is 200 now, so takes 35 BTC to make 7 grand, not 75...lol

Depends on if you bought with BTC or USD.  I actually bought with USD, but I didn't expect the bitcoin price to go up like this, so I wasn't going to buy BTC with my USD.

On the other hand, BTC could easily re-crash at some point.

I'm not sure I'm running the same version of cgminer, 3.4.0 from the top line.  My cgminer doesn't note the temp.

This is not cgminer. It is Luke-jr bfgminer

Two of the heatsink fans off & resting on the crossbar at a downward angle. (ill do the other 2 later)

I think it is better to leave them in the shrouds and point forward like this

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3375203

try that and see if you drop more temps.  I did also try the old bigger intake fans pointing down on the chips like you say but they weren't good.  Let us know if the smaller ones are good pointing down but I think pushing the air straight over the chips and board works best

Hosted Jupiter here. Eligius says 320 GH/s but KNC Portal stats read 510 GH/s?

Three hosted Jupiters here.

Portal shows: 526, 416, 408
Slush shows: 438, 399, 361

So portal is using higher than actual hashing speed?

The web interface shows the "raw" hash speed being reported by cgminer which includes HW errors.

For me, until yesterday, those two numbers were practically the same (pool hash rate stable at near miner theoretical max hash rate), but since around noon there has been a big difference :-(  Hosted miner. See my post on previous page for details. Hope they will fix. Anyone else with this problem?

i also have a single jupiter running on the 0.95 it came with. I agree temperature seems the most important factor in GH/s rate.

No bertmod, lid on upside down(fins & sides are pointing up) with a room fan blowing thru the front and side.

Two of the heatsink fans resting on the crossbar at a downward angle. (ill do the other 2 later)

The chips show 45c-55C and BTCGuild shows 490-559 with the best rates 'usually' at night but not exclusively. (it is noon now, ambient temp is 34C, BTCGuild shows me at  530) While puTTy shows my average as 540)

i feel for the guys who still didnt get theirs, i do feel we are all due a dozen BTC or so for the daily loss due to delays but have little hope of any offer of such.

now im wondering if its worth buying a 2nd one for 25btc making them 50 BTC each and easier to recover (depending on time/diff/etc)

who else is worth considering ordering from? cointerra? hashfast? other??

or is it time to start selling my old shovels??

I have a single Jupiter, and am knocking on wood as I type this. For me, temperature seems like the variable that is the most critical. I'm running 0.96 with enablecores, and as long as I keep all of the chips below 45 degrees, I'm able to maintain a pool speed (BTCGuild) in the 430-440 range. This is with the lid off of the case, a stationary fan pointing at the rigs internals at a 45 degree angle, and a basement window letting cool autumn air in. At higher core temps, the rig would start faster and then slowly degrade south of 500 GH/s. At sub-45 temps, the performance seems stable. Many of you have been helpful and empathetic through all of this KnC drama, so I hope this is helpful in putting the pieces to the puzzle together for at least a few. I don't think I'll make ROI in BTC with the crazy diff jump on the horizon, but maybe with the rising price will make it in fiat. I hope everyone's KnC rigs arrive soon, and that HF, CT and all of the others experience the painful delays as we have. I also hope KnC can turn around their PR situation, it seems like they were able to pull the hard stuff off and then fumbled what would have seemed like the easier stuff. I hope they continue to earn the trust of the community. Unless they offer a crazy discount in gen 2 for gen 1 customers, I'm out of the mining business. The only ones making money in a gold rush are those selling shovels.

I see, you tried 0.96 and then 0.94 gave you the .7 volt VRM output voltage?

a hard reset and power cycle brought it back to high voltage again

it is screaming now holding ~525 at BTCGuild  (just think if I had the other 59 cores)

Observations:

temps are up about 7-10C each board (to be expected)
the one board (KNC 1) that was really low on HW errors when not overclocking, has the highest, while the others are all under 5%   Huh
similar amount of cores as last test (gained that one back to 709)

we'll see how this goes after a few hours...since my temps are still lower than many people's non-overclocked jupiters it looks sustainable. (all 4 VRM boards)   Dropping the fans to the crossbars does help in these situations

I should change the PSU though, it is only an 850watter

Update:  close to an hour and running strong on BTCGuild - 533.87 GH/s 546304 (99.72%) 1536 / 23040 / 0

Yes, running the earlier firmware now sure makes more sense than trying to avoid the 100 watt difference I saw on my Mercury.  It costs me $5.50/month for the extra 100 or so watts while the extra 37.8GH/s is like 3½ Blades.  So, do you measure your power at the wall?  What do you get at .7v and at .9v?

I don't understand what you mean by drop the fans to the crossbars - removing the front fans and grills completely?

Good work!!  Cheesy

and yes another way to keep cgminer from starting and turning off cores is to just change the first { to a } in the cgminer.conf so it runs but just sits there (screen -r and just quit it)

my one die being off is probably saving enough watts so my 850psu doesnt roast...  I'll pick up a 1000W or 1200w tomorrow

Edit:

3rd time was the charm!

I've followed your example and I'm getting similar results.  Much hotter but much faster despite my gimpy board #3.

I wanted to note (in case you hadn't stumbled upon it) an easy-button way of getting all the cores activated instead of the race-condition method you seemed to be describing earlier.

Basically, the /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh script enables the cores as it prepares to launch cgminer.  However, if there is already a screen session active, the script will fail....but not before it does it's core enabling mojo.  So basically what I did was reboot the machine...screen -rd, create a new screen terminal with ctlr-a,c , download/compile/install bfgminer per Luke-Jr's script, killall cgminer, /etc/init.d/cgminer start (which subsequently fails due to existing screen session), start bfgminer.  Hope that helps someone Smiley  Also, previously my board #3 would get something on the order of 30% hardware errors on .7V, but now it's basically the same as the "good" boards 1 and 4 with .9V and kicking ass.  Might not have to RMA this sucker after all :p  And yeah...totally /agree on the PSU thing...glad I bought a 1000-watt unit as I'm pulling 920W now.

Do you think I will receive my miners by page 1000?

The people with the last October batch orders are screwed twice – once by having our miners delayed by a considerable amount of time and twice by shipping all November units on time, thus again significantly reducing the time we have until they start hashing. And I find it highly unprofessional that KNC discriminates customers in regards to compensation.

"All current paid orders will be shipped no later than October 15th." - I call that false advertising.
