Clueless!
So how many of these Titan 2 miners will come online exactly? Looks like the difficulty went down and now back up.

the 'rumor' i heard way back was they shipped 2.5K of units 1st batch (heh amazing how that works with no refunds) and about that amount for their 2nd batch

could get 'interesting' if that was the case

anyway perhaps others have a better more reliable source...then knc sales hype back in the day when they were selling these as fast as possible

(i think that is where i got the figures from..KNC patting themselves on the back)

Also, yes i've tried numerous types of Class 10 sdcard's as per this threads sadness. I literally do not want to send this board back as it'd take a week to get it back (plus I have to pay customs again).
Unfortunately, it does seem like this is a Pi issue. So i'll have to RMA. Hopefully that goes over smoothly :/

Does the board power up w/o any cubes attached?

Does the LCD show anything?

What image are you flashing on your new SD cards? 1.02 or the full 2.0?

Yes i'm able to power up the board without cubes. LCD is blank throughout any configuration I use. I flashed the 1.02 img, and the 2.0. Both boot up and run on my old Pi, but not the one they sent me. Trying to figure out how to use my old pi with it. But the GPIO port is smaller :/

*EDIT* Just decided to buy a local Raspberry Pi B+ instead of RMA'ing the entire board and waiting + paying. :/ Why do I feel like the next two shipments from batch two are going to punch me in the face in just the same way.

My batch 1 controller has also just died - blank LCD and doesn't respond to a reflash/change of SD card as it did in the past. The controller comes on with 1 led and I can see web interface but not the cubes.
Would you mind sharing how you modify a standard raspberry pi B+ to be compatible with the titan? The connectors JP10 etc all look different + what about mounting the daughterboard?

The new B+ has the same pinout and fits exactly into the actual controller board. If yours has an ethernet port and the yellow rca jack, then it wont work and you'll need to get the newer pi B+.if you can see the web interface, that it's probably not a software/pi problem. Same thing happened to me, and I had to go to the advanced tab, and set the clocks for each die. Applied it, then it started detecting cubes and mining.

Thanks good to know. Its just like the cables were connected the wrong way round (or not at all) - I can't even read the temperature in the dies. But the LCD screen is blank and only one LED is on. Will update the thread if I figure it out etc...

Lol, well so far, i'm getting the advertised 430-450 MH/s for this first shipment. If it goes like this for the other two, I could possibly ROI within a year!...if I don't die of sadness looking at that 256 MH/s miner for $1500 first.

Clueless!
You can clearly see the drop in interest of the LTC since January , about 25% drop in hashrate, and another hude drop now expected..

I would say that this is a trend after LTC announced they stop development..

LTC RIP

yeah they had a big dip difficulty like down for the last 2 cycles of diff changes in the 3 day periods more then 25% .....and now it all is coming back within a day or two...and the price was only affected by bitcoin price drop thru all that from what i can tell...big yawn on ltc price changing heh...

go figure....

still holding LTC for now on the 'vain' hope that LTC price will tick up when BTC price goes up ...only hope on my again 'puny' hope of getting around 1/2 of my loss on the
titan (orig order) back .....may do better ...but my 'realistic' goal was always just get 1/2 back with elec etc incl ......as to the 2nd titan that MAY ROI  with elec in middle of the 4th
month more or less so not a big worry there...i figure the electric company will send me a 'fruit basket' here soon and write me up in the newsletter with all the $$$ i'm shucking out
to them ....

the above 'whim' of a plan for holding LTC can change at a moments notice...just saying the weak hand i'm playing as of this minute

by the by also heard that all the 150mh Titans in the 2nd batch no matter when they were ordered are going to be shipped after the 450mh units..(that in the past usually means a month or more from previous ways they have done this ....imho) ....so knc is still sticking  IT to folk...according to an email someone got (they ordered the 450mh and the 150mh the same day ...thus the email)

ah.....consistency....knc  ..picking up the bfl banner and pushing the envelope farther towards 'doucheness'...i expect josh from bfl to be hired any day now for the data hall operation...with the FTC/IRS after him he needs to get out of the country.....(i wonder what the Iceland extradition laws are like?)

Just received a batch 2 Titan. Got an extra cube to achieve the higher promised hashrate. Can't use it however because the controller board I got doesn't have a working ethernet port/firmware.

Anyone else had a problem starting up the titans with a blank screen and no ethernet activity? Did anyone fix it with a proper firmware installed? (which I tried to no avail).

did you try a new SD card... I use a Sandisk 8gb Class 10 card....format it etc and such put the new 2.00 img on it...see if that is the work around ..ie a crappy SD replace it?

if by the above you mean the raspberry pi usb port is shot......not sure if they are using the ones on the 1st batch titans  but anyway

i was told by knc staff (take that as you want like they know squat) that you can just replace directly a raspberry pi B+ 512mb unit to the knc daughterboard if the raspberry pi is broken....others on here i think have done so (or maybe it was knc forums which are now down)

BUT THIS ALL DEPENDS IF THEY USED THE SAME RASPBERRY PI AS THE 1ST BATCH ...no idea....they could have redesigned everything maybe toss some pics on here for the more knowledgeable of the folks here to help...guess we have to stick together now that they 'sunk' knc forums such as it was....

anyway all i got i wish you luck

by the by let us know here if you got the raspberry pi B+ 512mb unit or did you get the NEWEST unit...curious...also is the board different then the old board on these units or did they simply toss in the extra cube and it is the same setup as a batch 1 .....anyway good luck all that comes to mind ...others on here will likely know more on this again pics may help the more tech savy here to help you out

Well.. here's the Titan batch #2's controller board. The whole shipment is pretty much them just tossing in an extra Titan cube I guess. (have two more titan shipments coming in :/).

Here's the Titan batch #2 Raspberry Pi

And here's the extremely old Pi I have to show differences.

Final update from this post.

I got around to swapping the fans and the BitFenix, from the early batch Neptune miners, looks about the same as the Speedy from the Bonuses.

So, if you have been running fine with the BitFenix fans, then you could go the heatsink route like I did and be set. The less work option is to buy the Noctua fans and enjoy the 42dB. Tongue In my case, heatsinks+adhesive = $100. Noctuas would have been $140. But, you might not get it done that cheap if you do not already have the tools. Seeing as how we should not be having to spend anything on the friggin' things, I prefer the cheaper route. The copper bling does not hurt either, lol. Grin

I'm production assistant also from Dogedradio https://twitter.com/dogedradio

If anyone on this thread feels like they know more of this story, what is really going on with KNC, send me a PM and lets talk. Seems like this story has been unfolding for a long time, and we'd love to get the full story.

I find it interesting that KNC ships 2nd batch Titans and we are suddenly looking at an -14.35 difficulty drop with 11.1 hrs to go difficulty drop for LTC?

it is almost like a bunch of miners got 'unplug'd' and moved/(shipped?) someplace else? (knc would not do that right...hoard miners for own use?) heh
Much as I love a good conspiracy, a huge amount of scrypt hashpower (around 250-300GH) was running on LiteDoge after its launch a couple of days ago which has affected the current LTC diff.

ah dang.....well ....was just the 'thought' ...
